So, I was on MSN messenger....
BadSamaritan replied to BadSamaritan's topic in Rebellion Multiplayer
Ok. I have never noticed that before. Does it work with any other games? -
And I was talking to a friend of mine. I was trying to get my beat up webcam to work, so i hit one of the tabs on the top of the message window. Mush to my surprise, one of my options was "Start Star Wars Rebellion". Can this game be initiated through all messenger systems? Or is MSN the only one this works on?

Ok, I have always had a saved gane as the rebellion sitting on the very bottom of my list, dating back to when i first started playing. I just never played it. And just today, i decided to play it again. I was playing as the rebellion, and from looking at the galaxy map, i understood why i never played the game. Neither myself or the comp had full control of any sectors. Most of the sectors were split almost 50/50. It basically looked like chaos. Then i started searching for my fleets. And i couldnt find any of them. Not around any shipyards, not around my headquarters, nothing. Then i found out why. Suddenly, one of my fleets dropped out, and began fighting with an imp force. But the fleets were HUGE!!! Imp Fleet - 2 SSD 8 SDII 3 VSDII 4 SDI 1 VSD I 6 Lancers 4 Dreadnaughts 3 Escort Carriers To many fighters to count. I was apparently trying to take Coruscant away from the empire. And of course, Thrawn was in charge of the imps. Go figure. My fleet, while not as large, was still impressive. 1 Bulwark 7 Dauntless 7 Mon Cal 9 Assault Frigates 2 CC-7700 6 CC-9600 6 Nebulon B frigates 6 Gunships 5 Liberator Cruisers Lots and lots of B-wings and A-wings, with one odd squadron of Y-wings. With Admiral Lando(wha?) In charge. Well, I decided then and there that I was in no condition to try and take control of a battle like that, so i let the comp duke it out. Boy,. was that a mistake. End result was two banged up fleets, hanging in space, doing nothing but limping around, and trying to repair themselves. Most of the ships were still int the battle!! I think only four ships had actually been destoryed, one of them being Thrawns SSD. All starfighetrs were gone. It was pathetic. And it obviously wasnt going to end soon. So i went and took a nap. I woke up almost two hours later, and it was still going on!! Granted, the fleets were much smaller, and even mopre jumbled, but still. So, i went and took a shower. 45 minutes later, guess what?!?!?! Still going. I was getting pissed. I almost hit the 'get final results' button. Then I remembered how random that was. So i took off for the store. I came back 20 minutes later, to find that i had..... LOST!!!! Thats right. I waited all that time, for lando to lose. The empire made it out with one VSD II, and 2 Lancers. Needless to say, I was furious. I almost hit my moniter. But I colled down, and continued on with the game. At least I caused the empire to lose all those ships, right? WRONG!!! Less than two days later, another fight. This time over Sluis Van. These fleets were almost the same size as the ones that had just beaten each other silly. Imps: 1 SSD 3 SD II 5 VSDII 6 Carrack 2 Interdictor (No running this time) 1 Dreadnaught 5 Strike cruisers 12 Lancers (I almost shat myself whan i saw that) 2 Escort Carriers Once again, lots and Lots of TIEs, even a few bombers. Admiral Daala In charge. My fleet was no where near as impressive, but still huge. It was prolly the leftovers of what i didnt throw at Coruscant. 2 Dauntless 7 Mon Cal 6 CC-9600 9 Assult Frigates 10 Nebulon B 8 Dreadnaughts 7 Gunships 4 Escort Carriers 6 Corvettes 4 Medium Transorts 7 Bulk transport, all empty (I dont understand this either) Fighters were mostly X-wings and A-wings, with a few B-wings in the mix. Admiral Drayson in command (what was i thinking?) Well, I didnt want to command this battle either, I was feeling lazy. So, I once again let the comp run the show. While it did its thing, i went and watched a movie. Movie finished. Guess what? STALEMATE!!! Ships were everywhere, floating in space. All the starfighteres were once again gone. But, on the plus side, I appeared to be winning. So i shrugged, and went to wtach another movie. RoTJ to be exact. The movie ended. And aparently, So had the battle. Guess who won this one? The Empire. It came out with an Interdictor, 2 carracks, and a strike cruiser. I was pissed. This time, I did hit the moniter. But, i had to admit, at least I smashed a whole bunch of Imp ships in the process. Then, it happened. Another battle over coruscant. I was furious. I had No clue what was going on. So I looked to see what i was working with. A single Mon Cal, two Nebulon Bs, and a Bulk Cruiser. With a full Complement of A-Wings. And Ackbar. i took command of the battle. And won. Horribly. Thrawn never had a chance. I crushed that blue skinned mongrel like a bug. And I danced for joy. Then, another battle message. Once again, late arriving forces!!! This time, a single assualt frigate, 4 corvettes, and an escort carrier. Loaded with y-wings. Admiral Solo in command. Daala had met her match. The battle was over almost before began. It was beautiful. But overall, i cant really claim to have won. Because right after that, i realized that i had 0 fleets left that were capable of taking planets. And i hadnt managed to gain any planets out of it. But hey, it was fun at least.

I always thought of the Infilitrator as more of a shuttle than anything else. -
I prefer to think that the while universe, is just laying in a pile of goo, on some planet, circling a sun. And as the universe evolves, the goo does also, and creates the first life on the planet.

The locals tend to get pissy when you just let the empire just walk all over a sector, and you dont put up a fight. -
I finally figured out how to be a good Imperial.

The way I see it, if a planet dont like you, lwet the rebels have it. Than, and the rebels are firmly entrenched, launch a full scale attack on the system, and show the peasents what happans when the impre wants to flex its muscle. -
Ill have you know, i am a post-whore master!!! I just dont think you guys would appreciate what i am capable of.
-
And what am I, chopped liver? I will be there in the front lines with the rest of you!!!

GL cant replace Vaders x1 with an infiltraitor. the Infiltraitor was a much larger vessel that any TIE fighter. -
Dally sighed heavily. He knew how these Intelligence types worked, her had been through it all before. He also knew this wasnt going to be pleasent. But on the other hand, they hadnt shot him yet. Which was always a good thing. But then again, he WAS being escorted by stormtroopers. As they walked along the halls of the vessel, he shuddered slightly. The farther he got from his ship, the less comfterable he was. That, and the sterile enviroment of the Star Destroyer made him sick to his stomach. It was just to clean. He already missed the musty smell of his ship. He sighed again,. and pushed the memory of his ship out of his mind, and prepared for the upcoming mind battle with the intelligence twerps. he had messed with the minds of their kind before, and he figured he could do it again. At least, he hoped he could. *OOC - I have no idea how to rp the intelligence part, so Im laving that up to you guys*

Jesus, you got lucky. -
Dally twitched slightly, kessel was not a place he wanted to end up. But then, the captain had made mention of possibl getting out of all of this. Possibly a job? He sighed, and pondered this for a moment. "Listen, i dont know nothing about any base here in Orath. I didnt even know this sytem existed until I took this job on. Like I told you, I was hired on to help escort a convoy to Corellia." he said, and he clasped his hands behind him. "As for my ship, they can search it all they want. Short of maybe some brandy, they wont find any contraband. Ill even open up the hidden spots so you can search them. I took this job all legal like. But, if you want me to pay you back for the losses ou suffered, I could take jobs from you to. I really dont care." he said, and he pondered his situation carefully. He was more annoyed than anything else, he hated being in situations like these. But no matter how bad things seemed, they always worked out for him in the end.

*OOC - Im confused now, with tan trying to save me, and me already being in the hanger bay. Ill just assume i was captured. Makes things more interesting for me.* Dally stared the cammander in the face, and wondered what to do next. They had already caught him in one lie, so now he had to make another. This was not going to be fun. "Listen, I aint no rebel. I was hired on to escort a convoy from this system to Corellia. Thats all i was told. I had no idea they were rebels. If I had that idea, I wouldnt have taken the job." he said, confidence in his voice. Inside, he was a nervous wreck. He was born and raised on his ship, and he never felt comfterable off of it. That, and those blasted stormtroopers had taken his smoke sticks. He thought for a moment, and spoke again. "As for me firing on your ships, anything larger than a freightor gets me spooked. Especially when I drop out of hyperspace right on top of it like that." he said, and he crossed his arms. he hoped that he could talk his way out of all of this, and maybe get a job out of it. credits were credits, no matter who was doling them out.

Dally cursed to himself, putting together combinations of words that not even he thought he was capable of. He had just gotten himself out of trouble with the empire, and here he was getting himself back into it. A warning claxon blared, and he cursed again. His shields were gone, and now those blasted ties were dealing damage to his hull. And his ship could barely withstand the rigors of flight, let alone a laser blast. He sighed, and throttled down his engines. He knew he couldnt get away now. At least he had taken some of the ties with him. He slapped his console, and the two laser cannons retracted back into their hiding spot. he slowly tuned towards one of the Star Destoyers, and opened up his comm system. "Bad Samaritan to.... whatever star destoyer is in front of me. I give up. Im coming in all nice and peacefull like now." he said, and he leaned back into his chair. he reached into his pocket again, and put another stick into his mouth, and lit it using his console. This had been a long day already, and was looking to get even longer. As he flew towards the Star destroyer, he planned out in his head what his story was going to be. He wasnt going to admit outright that he was working for the rebels, but he couldnt just deny it either. He could possibly pull off a story that he had been hired as an escort vessel for a convoy. Or maybe he was just passing through system, and got spooked. One way or the other, he knew he had to make his story good. *OOC - Yes, those are shield generators, read any of the X-wing novels, or watch the battle over endor again, when the Executor gets trashed. And speaking of getting trashed, this little smuggler is off to the local cantina!*

I HEREBYE DECLARE WAR ON GEORGE LUCAS!!! That has has taken a set of perfectly good movies, and played with them to the point that he practically ruined them!! Off with his head I say!! OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!!

Dally sat in the cockpit of his old YT-1300, the Bad Samaritan, the bright lines of hyperspace rolling around his vessel in an unending swirl. His head bobbed slowly to the cadence of light music reverberating throughout the ship. Sudeenly, the music went from a slow rythem, to a hard, fast beating of notes on a variety of musical intruments. Dallys' head slammed back and forth with the music, his long hair flying about his head. Suddenly, the music stopped, and he looked up. A small light on his console was flashing, and he sighed. "Always when the music gets good" he mumbled to himself, and he began to flip switches on his console. He had always hated having to leave hyperspace. It was the only place where the only worries he had were his music, running out of his choice of poison, or his rickety old ship falling apart. Almost as an afterthough, he reached into one of the pockets of his tunic, and pulled out a small stick, and stuck it in his mouth. He leaned over to the side of his char, and a small flame jetted out of the console, lighting the end of the stick on fire. Everyone always complaine dabout this habit of his, and how it would kill him in the end. But he always brushed them off. Better he smoke himself to death, then try and fly while spiced up. Suddenly, a small alarm began to chime, and he puffed on his stick. He reached up, and pulled back on a pair of levers. He ship rocketed out of hyperspace, and he almost dropped his stick with what he saw in front of him. It looked like a small fleet of Star Destroyers were in the process of mopping up the rebel base that had been stationed in the asteroid belt. And worse yet, he had dropped out on a suicide run for the bridge of one of them. Almost on instinct, he flicked on his deflectors, and jammed his throttle to max speed. His old vessel rocketed forward, and he slapped another button on his console. The two hidden laser connons popped out of hiding, and he fired almost immediatly, trying to spray fire into the bridge before being force to pull up. As he passed by the two giant sheild generators on top of the command tower, he sprayed laser fire into one of them, hoping to do something to them. He blasted past the star destoryer, and headed towards the asteroib belt as fast as his small vessels engines could take him there. He took a quick glance at his sensors, and noticed the tale end of the rebel fleet heading out of system at a fast pace. As he got closer to the asteroid belt, he saw them make the jump to hyperspace. "At least those poor fools made it out." he though to himself. He jerked his ship hard to starboard to avoid a TIE fighter that appeared out of nowhere, and continued back to his course towards the asteroid belt.
