  1. Dally sat in the cockpit of his ship, and looked at his sensor readouts carefully, and shook his head at what he was seeing. It seemed like the entire shipyard was preparing for the fight. Ships were leaving docks half repaired and either setting up battle positions or leaving system, fighters were swarming the area trying top find the best spots to sit and wait, and capitol ships by the dozens were waiting silently, their crews undoubtedly getting getting ansy, waiting for the fight. By the looks of it, even some repair ships had been armed for the fight. It seemed the rebels were getting ready for a showdown of massive proportions. And here he was, stuck in the middle of it, leading a group of ragtag smugglers and pirates who were all in it for a blaze of glory, some personal vendatta, or the promises of cold hard cash. And he still had no idea why he was sticking around. As he sat there, wondering when the battle would start, his comm unit beeped, and he glanced over at it. He picked up his headset, and hit a button on his console. "Dally here." he said, the lack of sleep in the past few days showing in his voice. "Junk leader, this is central command. A group of mercenary ships has just entered the system, and is requestion orders. Were are moving them to your position. We will be handing command of them over to you for the fight." the voice said. Dally cehcked his sensors,. and noticed a group of starfighters anf freightors heading towards him throught he shipyards. Dally sighed, and counted his numbers. He already had command of several freightors, which was mroe than enough for him. He didnt want any more responsibility in this fight. "And also, command has given you an as of yet unofficial spot in the command structure. It will help all everyone in issuing orders. Congradualtions commander." the voice said, the the communication was cut off. Dally took his head set, and threw it across his cockpit. He never wanted to be a rebel. He was just going where the money went. But now, here he was leading a good sized force of space bums and pirates against the might of the empire. This was not how he saw his life going, at any point in time. All he wanted to do was get out of the reach of that blasted admiral. He sighed, and leaned back in his chair. There was nothing he could do about it now though. He had agreed to help in this fight, so now he was honor bound to stick with it. He looked out his viewport in time to see the newest part of his command arriving. By the looks of it, it was made up mostly of olf Z-95 headhunters and corellian freightors. But there was at least a squad of Y-wings in the mix. He growled, and picked up his headset again. he switched it over his groups channel, and spoke to the newest arrivals. "Welcome to Junk group gentlemen. Just take up positions wherever you see fit, and get ready for a wait. There is no telling when this is all going to start, so I hope you have something to do." he said, and a chuckle came over the comm system, along with some groans. He smiled, and laughed to himself. "Junk lead, this is Captain Moryuj of the Dentarik mercenaries. It will be a pleasure working with you. Just remember to wake me up when the fun starts" a voice said over the comm, and Dally just shook his head. he didnt think any of them had a clue as to what they were getting themselves into, but it wasnt his place to tell them to leave while they still could. They came here of their own free will, and they could leave anytime they wanted to. Dally sighed again, and looked back to his sensor console, and watched the activity in the shipyard again. He knew what was going through his mind, but he didnt even want to know what was going through the mind of the higher ups in the rebel command, having all this firepower at their disposal, and yet not knowing entierly what was coming to wipe them all out. All Dally knew, was that when the fighting started, things were going to get very interesting, very quickly. OOC - ok people, lets get this all underway!!!
  2. In all honesty, episode I & II have a lot to live up to in the SW universe, namely the original trilogy. And quite frankly, they are failing horribly. Granted, some of the acting and ideas have been downright putrid, but the one things that seems to be hellbent on making sure that they will never be equal to the original trilogy is the special effects. Am I alone in thinking that the original trilogy looked a bit more realistic than the new trilogy? In the original, the ships looked dirty, beat up, and most importantly, they looked real. In the last two installments, the ships have all been shiny, new, and pristine looking. Not to mention overly cartoonish. Why GL decided to go with CGI for most of the battles I will never understand. When you look at the battle of Hoth, or the battle over endor, evrything you saw looked real, from the AT-ATs, to the starfighters locked in combat aound a star destroyer. In attack of the clones, the genosian war machine looked like it had been ripped right out of a video games opening sequence. But the special effects are just my biggest gripe. The most important one is the writing. Let george lucas direct, these are his films. But fire him as a writer, he isnt doing that good of a job. These plotlines are easy to follow, but inevitably boring and predictable. And frankly, some of the things in the stories just make me want to scream in the theatres and rip my hair our, like jar-jar, and those blasted midi-chlorians. So let Lucas Direct, he is good at that, but for the sake that is everything Star Wars, fire himas a writer, and hire a troop of circus monkeys to replace him. At least then there would be surprises in the story. [/gripe]
  3. Ive never had the problem.
  4. Bad luck would be my first guess.
  5. We all know that this is a great game, hence the reason we are all on this site. But, if they had had the time to design some of the things they had planned, the game probably wouldnt have been teh silent hit that it was, and they may have made a sequal to it.
  6. removed from the game. Im not going to let that thing into the game for any reason.
  7. Well, im thinking of using uglies for starfighters. And i can use some of the smaller imperial and rebel ships without a problem. Corvettes, Gunships, bulk cruisers, tha smaller transports, carrack cruisers, nebulon B frigates, and the bulk freightor are perfectly usable. Possibly even the dreadnaught. But the bigger ships would be off limits, for the most part. Although there are a few pirqate groups out there with Star Destroyers.
  8. Yah, excellent reviews, but still, theyboth brought up points that rebellion could have been much better.
  9. OOC: Ok, Im back, and ready to go.
  10. I'm going to be gone for around five days. Family emergency. In the PreANH thread, im leaving Trej in charge on my guy, Ill PM him the details on how to play him. If he doesnt want to run him, I PMed him on how to play him, so he should be able to fill anyone in on what to do. In the Repora thread, I should be fine, I havent inserted myself into the storyline in any way as of now. But, I thought I would let you guys know, it is the nice thing to do.
  11. In the tiny spaceport known as Mos Eisley, life went on as usual. For most sentient beings in the galaxy, the planet of Tatooine was not a place on their lists of planets to vacation on. But for the people that lived there, life may be hard, but it was rewarding to a point. The felt good that they managed to etch out a living on such a harsh planet. It had even become the retirement home for some people. Many aged smugglers, pirates, and honest freightor captains now called this place home. Most of them retired here because of the memories they had of the world. Others, because of the fact it had remained largly untouched during the Vong invasion. But because of all the retired spacefarers, Mos Eisly was now known for having some of the galaxies oldest, most reliable tramp freightors on the market. And because of the location of the planet, the GFFA never took the time to inspect the vessels, so most of them were still just outside the lines of legality. Through one of the many used ship lots, a cloaked figure walked among the rows of ships, casting glances at them one by one, as if looking for a certain one. The owner of the lot watched him carefully, wondering why his potential customer was looking through all of the older, less reliable ships instead of the newer ones he had. After a few more minutes, the man stopped in front of an old freighter of corellian make. It was covered in years of dust, and looked like it hadnt been moved since before the galactic civil war. The owner of the lot walked up to the man, and eyed the ship he was looking at. He himself had contemplated this ship before. It had been on the lot when he had purchased it from the previous owner. No one had even taken a glance at it since then. He had even contemplated scrapping it. But maybe now he would have a chance to sell it. "How much?" One the cloaked figure asked suddenly. His voice was low and smooth, but the lot owner still jumped slightly at the sound of it. It was the first sound either of them had made since arriving. "For this old thing? Not a whole lot. Its been sitting here for years, Ill be surprised it it even works anymore. And there isnt a lot about this ship thats very special. Standard engines for the YT-1200, but upgraded sheilding. Its got a pair of hidden laser cannons, and a pair of torpedo launchers if I remember correctly. The only really special thing about it is its history. Apparently it took part in a few major battles in the earlier days of the rebellion." the lot owner said, scratching his chin thoughtfully. He was surprised that he even remembered that much about the old ship. "I'll take it." he said, and he reached into a small pouch. He pulled out a pair of jems, and tossed them to the lot owner. He cought them, and looked at them, his eyes wide with surprise. He may have been a backwater ship dealer, but he still knew durindfire jems when he saw them. And these were worth far more than the ship. He looked back to the two men, and just shrugged his shoulders. He walked over to the hatch, and punched in the code to open it. "You can reset the code anytime from the security console in the cockpit. If i were you though, I would take this thing in for a major overhaul. It hasnt been moved in years." he said, and he watch as the the man walked up the ramp. He slowly turned around, and looked at him. "I will consider that, thank you. And tell me, what is the name of this vessel?" he asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice. The owner though for a moment, and then shook his head. he walked over to another part of the ship, and brushed away the dirt over the name of the ship. He walked back over to the hatch, and looked up at the man. "Its called the Bad Samaritan. Not the best of names, if you ask me." he said, and the ships new owner simply nodded. The hatch then began to slowly close, and after a few the ships engines began to whine, signaling the startup sequence. The lot owner backed away, and watched as the ship slowly rose up, and the landing gear retracted. The ship turned slowly, and then took off, curving up towards space. Once in space, the man removed his cloak, happy to be rid of it. he brushed his long hair back behind his head, and smiled. It was good to be in space again. It was even better that he was in his grandfathers old ship. Although he did wonder how long it would take the lot owner to realize the jems were fake. But he siply shrugged it off, and began to set a course for Corellia. The ship needed a large amount of work, and who better than corellians could fix a corellian ship? After the course was set, he launched the vessel into hyperspace, and leaned back in the chair. he looked over to a certain console, and reached over to it. He flicked one of the switched, as turned a nob, and music began rolling through the entire ship. He leaned back in his chair, and smiled, watching the lines of hyperspace roll around his ship. OOC - This is just to start me out, Ill insert myself into the main plot when I see an opening for it. Gotta get my ship fixed first though.
  12. What would one need to do a voice set? Thats the only part I would be able to help with.
  13. remembering a few points about a certain book. I cant even remember the name of said book. it was the one where Luke had to disable the Eye of Phalpatine before it got to the hidden Jedi academy, or whatever it was. I need details on the jedi it was supposed to destroy. And the name of the book, all of mine are in storage at the moment.
  14. Oooh, ya got me there!!
  15. I would just use the force to scratch that one part of my back that seems hard to reach when sitting down.
  16. KOTOR - 25 dollars. Computer upgrades to play game - 50 dollars. Beating the game in every way possible in two weeks - Frustrating
  17. Well said, good sir, well said.
  18. Im sorry, but until they update the combat systm on galaxies so its not turn based, that game is not worth playing at all.
  19. Streen. He is most like me.
  20. The Arc Hammer had an interesting design to it. A mobile construction ship for the empires most dangerous troops? We should try and incorperate that into Rebellion some how.
  21. Secret or not, Daala was still an Admiral.
  22. Actually, most of the "Evil Females" mae it to that position because of their overall brilliance. Daala proved herself as a tactician at Carida, Iceheart managed to backstab her way into power, and Tavira wasnt appointed as an Admiral until after Endor, when a lot of females started to rise in the ranks of the imperial navy becuase of the empires need for decent tacticians.
  23. i wouldnt go so far as to say Zsinj was more original that Isard. I think they were both equal in that regard. Although overall, Iceheart was way cooler.
  24. The original dark forces. And the only hard part of that game is beating the final boss. But I saved a bunch of those landmines, and those things can waste him, even at the hardest difficulty.
