There'd be no harm to having a photoalbum to show off your best and worst moments... Not to mention mods
-
Pretty soon the same thing is going to happen to me, I'll be packing up tonight, do finals tomorrow and head back home. We don't have cable at home and the phone lines only support speeds up to 28.8 so I won't be able to do much with my machine. I was hoping the demo would be out by now so I could give you a nice present when I got back the 3rd of January or so.

Uh nope, that's Centerpoint Station I think.

Sorry about the double post, (Though not so much, I'm surprised by the lack of commentary) but me and JI started talking about Mercenaries... Here's another Tactic that will appear in the strategic game. The Mercenary Rush Since it will take you some time to build up your infrastructure and begin constructing units you will be vulnerable to the use of this tactic. Basically what happens is that the other side quickly procures a Black Market exchange and Mercenary Recruitment center. They spend credits like mad and attack you early in the game with costly mercenary units while your infrastructure is still in the initial build up stages. What would you do?

Well, If I can get enough help on RoR it may be possible to do another mod for this monster, and I know exactly the one I'd do. Stellar Magic: War of Ages Start Date: 2092 A.D. Factions and their Component Elements Free World Alliance Formed on Febuary 2nd 2052, the Free World Alliance was formed from the United Nations during an emergency meeting. It created a world wide Senate and Executive along Parlimentary lines. Component Faction: The Wizarding Brotherhood Among the recent archaelogical discoveries on earth were keys to the once mythical powers of wizards. During the height of the Rotef Invasion the Wizarding brotherhood took control over one of the worlds from which the attack was launched, currently a large skyscraper dubbed the White Tower is under construction at the world. Rotef Empire Ruled by powerful energy beings forced to use humans as hosts, the Rotere's empire spans thousands of light years. Under their dominion are a number of human subspecies created by the imfamous Rotef scientist Aretes. Component Faction: Spartan Empire Ruled by the Rotef warlord and mythical God Ares, the Empire is among the most advanced military forces in the Rotere Empire. He does however have a rogue streak which has led to inter faction-wars within the empire. Component Faction: Athenian Republic While most Rotef view humans as inferior the Rotef known as Athena has different views. Instead of a parasitical relationship with her host, it is symbiotic. The humans under her domain enjoy a variety of different liberties. This affection for humans eventually will lead to the Athenian Republic's decision to side with the Free World Alliance around 4057 A.D. Component Faction: Hel's Dominion For almost two thousand years this faction was the only element of the Rotere Empire in direct conflict with the Free World Alliance. Led by Hel, the faction utilizes an army of of genetically modified humans whom call themselves Urks (Orcs quickly became the Free World name for these creatures). There are more component factions coming... Sunni Federation The longtime enemy of the Rotef, the Sunni are identical in form to Rotere, in fact they are the same race. However all Sunni are connected to a host at birth, unlike the Rotef their relationship is neither parasitical or symbiotic. The Sunni and human personalities merge into a single entity within the wound, they live and die as one (Most of the time).

No, Skirmish mode is a single map, Scenario mode is Galactic Conquest.

Are you sure that 4 v 4 isn't only allowed in Skirmish mode?

Well I mean Star Dreadnaughts (Executor, Viscount, Strident, Sovereign). You'd be talking Trillions of credits to get a Shipyard to hand you one under the table. I'll actually probably have all the Black Market vessels cost 10% of the Square. So... Theoretically you could build a CR90 at a CEC factory for 1,200 Credits (I'm just making that number up.) That means to aquire the same ship from the Black Market will cost you a whopping 144,000 Credits. Which is quite a lot of credits, but you get some advantages from the cost. Build time is next to nothing for the ship itself so you can have a CR90 with an untrained crew out and in combat in a game day or two so the build time is proportional to the amount of time it takes to train the crew. Thats if you crew it yourself. If you hire mercenaries the cost goes much higher but you could have a Legendary mercenary CR90 within a few days, but it would probably cost well over a million credits.

I remember a story on SWR where a guy talked about how his copy of Star Wars Rebellion hated him. Without editing the Empire appeared over Yavin IV 80 some days into the game with a fleet including two SSDs and support ships. I guess his copy got sick of being beaten all the time.

One map supposably is the battle for the Landing Zone while the second is attacking the base. At least that was the impression I got.

Well, I'm sure that there would be enough paint in the galaxy, I think its more likely that Booster was just being cheap... That much paint would certainly cost alot. It's hard coming up with something distinctive for starships because there are so little points of reference. We've seen painted Star Destroyers in Episode III and so I patterned the colour scheme of the ships off of those vessels. Ground forces on the other hand have tons of references so they're pretty ease to create colorschemes for... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/MT-ATImperialColors.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/AT-APImperialColors.jpg

To different ships man. Vader flies the Tie Advanced X1 Prototype, the Fighter you're thinking is the Tie Advanced X2 "Avenger" which didn't enter service until around the Empire Strikes Back.

Okay, here is an idea I had while driving through the rain today. We know that possession of planets affects population cap, i'd be willing to bet that there are other factors effecting population cap as well, so... The most neglected element of the Star Wars Universe are the Imperial Merchant Marine and the Alliance Transport System (ATS for short). Both of these elements played a critical part in the galactic civil war by supplying each side's war machines. Here is what I propose: We make it possible for each side to build and buy transports, cargo containers, container ships and frieghters. These units will add to the population cap in the game, the more you have the bigger an Army/Navy you can support. This could make it so some classic Rebel tactics rise to prominence: Specifically, Commerce Raiding. I'd love to try and nail transports and blow up a bunch of Depots as the rebels and watch the Imperial War Machine grind to a halt.

4 Nailed down questions, 5th one to vote on.

I thought that question was answered already, isn't the pop cap directly proportional to the number of planets you have? -
Another colorscheme to add to the collection, the Imperial Star Destroyer... Alas I've only done the Imps so far. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/ImperialClassDestroyerImperialColor.jpg It's hard to see in these pictures but the Elite, Heroic, and Legendary Units all have a banner painted on their sail, just below the command tower.

Actually I would have to say that if its that bad, Lucas must have actually written it.

The Broadside actually looks to big to my eye, I mean in the concept art they show it next to a TIE Fighter and its not all that much bigger then the starfighter. JI, I think you got your units mixed up, the top one is a Tartan and the bottom one is a Broadside.

Which they should, of course playing a battle and suddenly seeing a Legendary Level AT-AT stand in the middle of the enemy base and pick your forces apart would hurt pretty bad to. Up against a unit that big and powerful, running would seem like a pretty good idea. I've been pretty busy with color design, have a look. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/Z-95RebelandMercColors.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/HAVwA5RebelColors.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/HAVwA5RebelAlternateCamoflage.jpg

I'll probably do some stealth stuff, but first I'd have to figure out how...
