  1. Well the Tartan looks like it would be effective as a Starfighter killer, but it still can't possibly be as effective in the role as the Lancer. The Tartan was probably replaced by the Lancer class...
  2. Holy... I just went looking for pictures for Supreme Commander... Okay, this is what those tanks look close up... http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/632/632026/supreme-commander-20050707115437015.jpg Zoom out a little bit... http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/632/632026/supreme-commander-20050707115337034.jpg Zoom out some more... http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/632/632026/supreme-commander-20050707115435108.jpg Zoom out one last time... http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/632/632026/supreme-commander-20050707115432124.jpg Oh its the end of the world as we know it...
  3. Well I think this image shows just how much of a rival it could be... http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/article/632/632026/supreme-commander-20050707115426484.jpg Just so you know, each of those blue blocks is a tank... Just imagine if those were Tie Crawlers... Now look at the huge walkers on the right, is it just me or are they ENORMOUS, heck they're probably bigger then an AT-AT... If you kept zooming out you would probably find a Naval ship that would completely blot out the screen... The scaling is Awesome!
  4. Okay, on a related subject... Are bombing runs linked to units in orbit over a world (1 Tie Bomber Formation = 1 Bombing Run every set amount of time) and if so can their destruction on the land map prevent their further use?
  5. Hah! If you put together a list of Technology the rebels use thats stolen from the Imperials you'd find its a longer list then what they developed themselves.
  6. Yeah, overall I think Supreme Commander will be the better game. The only thing it lacks is a strategic mode and space combat as far as I can tell, if it had that I'd forget about EAW and look for Star Wars mods for Supreme Commander.
  7. If I was to design a EAW... 1. More Planets, perhaps even multiple planets in a single system. 2. Pop. Cap that is connected to a number of different factors: 2a. Population Count is based off the number of crew on a ship or soldiers in a formation. 2b. Population Cap is reflective of the deployment of Command Vessels and vehicles as well as the possession of strategic buildings on the ground, and the possession of strategic locations (Landing Zones). 3. Increased number of units in the game to include all EU designs from the era as well as the Imperial Pursuit Period (Period immediately after ANH while the Rebels retreat to Hoth) 4. Inclusion of the capture of vessels in space combat. 5. Experience, Morale, and Loyalty as values for all units. 6. Unit Defections and Surrenders during battle. 7. Canonical mission profiles and capabilities for all units. (Victory I as Oribtal Assault ship and Missile Destroyer, Venator as a Planetary Assault ship and Fleet Carrier, and the Maraudar Corvette as a Planetary Assault craft and Fast Attack Vessel for example) 8. Expansion of units from the period by the creation of logical variations of known units (AT-ST/u Urban Scout Walker for Example) as well as new units by the Delphi creative team. 9. More designs to be stolen by the rebels... in addition to their own research capacities (I'd want to make it so you have to steal the Nebulon B-1 Frigate from Kuat in story mode). 10. Rename the Broadside to something more fitting (Striker Class Corvette, or something along those lines). 11. Orbital Bombardment. 12. Capital ships are assigned fighters and troops that are built independently. 13. The Acclamator and Venator can land on a planet's surface. 14. Killable heroes.
  8. I'm not sure, It may have entered service around the Empire Strikes Back. I don't recall it appearing in a game before that... well, I'd have to try and get my old copy of X-wing to work to check and see if its in there.
  9. Both sides have their share of dirty tricks... Well I voted for Kerry, and if you want someone to blame for having Bush in office... The ignorant and frightened Religious Right. Of course we all know that Bush wouldn't have been relected if we'd known what was going to happen in the next year. Truthfully Bush's performance immediately after 9-11 was quite good with a couple exceptions (Most of the mistakes echo of the Civil Rights screw ups that happened in WWII and we don't stick FDR's head on a pike).
  10. Guess what, you were right... Spores will probably have this.
  11. For all those Star Trek Bridge Commander Fans... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v436/StellarMagic01/Owned_Venator.jpg
  12. The Maraudar is in game as a "Missile Cruiser" Which is kind of strange. Of course they make the one real missile ship a dedicated combat vessel without the missiles. It's called the Victory I guys! (Actually from the screenshots it looks like the Victory I isn't in game, only the Victory II)
  13. I think its okay, sure they've created a new ship, why not? There are missile ships in Star Wars guys, they're not all that common but they're there. Have you guys ever heard of the Imperial Missile Boat? How about the Victory I Star Destroyer? (It has 80 Concussion missile tubes) Though you have to say they didn't show much imagination when they named the ship
  14. You don't get it do you... The models themselves are two complicated to be used in any way except screen renders and movie quality fanfilms. They're enormous. I actually tried to use them once and found out the hard way...
  15. The models are cool but... the Scifi 3d Models are meant for use in Fanfilms and compiled movies. If you used them in a mod or game your machine would summarily explode.
  16. It's the bar so... Any screenshot.
  17. Well, the ISD doesn't seem to be alone in the TIE building department, just look at the video for the Victory Star Destroyer, Ties come out... then more ties come out... then even more ties come out... Come ON!!! The only way I can see this even approaching fair is if the Rebel ships can spawn fighters... Which they can't.
  18. Thats what it looks like from what I've seen.
  19. The transport is organic to the unit... which kind of stinks in my opinion.
  20. ROTJ: He uses it to take out a fleeing speeder bike... I think. (Most of the time he ends up using Imperial Blasters...) Name all three known ship classes of the of the Corellian Engineering Corporation CC Series. P.S. One of these vessel types was first introduced in Darth Vader: Sith Lord during the subjugation of Kashyyk (This one is so new I don't think its even in Warlords yet). The other two first appeared in Star Wars Rebellion. P.P.S. Two of the three are interdictor ships.
  21. 1977 The Carrack Cruiser is armed with 10 turbolasers and 20 ion cannons. The 20 Ion Cannons can be replaced by laser cannons on field modifications. Name 10+ Frigates (Note: Some of these vessels will not be called a frigate by the shipyards that produced them) used by the Imperial Navy...
  22. Well here are some possible explanations for that. First, the Acclamator may have been a Mk II which is actually a heavy frigate not a troop transport. Secondly, there was a second Republic ship involved in the engagement, you never see it but you keep hearing reports from the vessel and it may have been a Venator Class.
  23. Yes, but you have to remember most of thsi game is going to be planetary invasions and that means large forces... very large forces. An Imperator Class Star Destroyer could deliver a whole division of troops in a ground assault. This is what this force would be if broken down into its component units: 5 Mechanized Infantry Companies (20 AT-ATs) 1 Armored Combat Company (25 AT-STs) 1 Armored Command Compnay (5 AT-STs) Approxametly 70-80 Infantry Companies Most of what you see in literature is the small scale engagements, a raid with a single Mechanized Infantry Company + Support (The raid on Karrde's Myrkr Base), a single Mechanized Infantry Platoon (The Juggernaught on Blackmoon). What is rarely shown is the full scale battle, and for those you have to look at Dark Empire where they show the continual fighting over coruscant just to get a glimpse of the scale I'm talking about. You will be able to obtain much smaller units then companies and platoons. Rebel Infiltraitors will only be purchasable in small teams, and they won't be the only ones. Command teams are small groups of troops or mounted vehicles, as are commandos and other formations, their roles however are much more along the lines of heroes. They increase the abilities of those around them and have good special abilities, beyond that they're not nearly as useful.
  24. Happy New Year... 3 Days till College starts up... 3...2...1...
