  1. *downloading the update now* Maybe I'll try more mutliplayer if this fixes just enough of the server issues.
  2. lol
  3. lol.. I just realized that too.. =o)
  4. It may have been a bit much, but no matter what, the person had some free time. http://lostfrog.org/
  5. lol.. nice.
  6. Looks like I might reinstall Freelancer. =o)
  7. Just got into contact with a BUNCH of the old msn gaming zone reb players!
  8. Sounds like you're doing a great job!
  9. Well yes, you can still play in thier direct play room. Getting a large number of people to actually show up and play has been a bit of a problem with other progams out there, and the fact that most players can just use MSN Messanger, rather than installing the Zone's software. *cough* Message me for a game. *cough* =o)
  10. Well the box set vhs of SE I have doesn't show that scene in ESB. Maybe I should complain? =o) So then I take that it did make it into the dvd release as well, and I'm just ignorant. =o)
  11. In glancing at those changes from Theforce.net, I remembered a question I had. I have not seen the dvd release. I know that in a release I had of ESB, (prob. the original full trilogy release on VHS) in the asteroid field, when the officers are reporting to Vader: One of the reporting officers blanks out from the holoscreen and the rest just keep talking like nothing happened. In the release I had, the scene immediatly before that of the star destroyers, and the Executor shows one of the star destroyers being hit in the bridge section by an asteroid. I know that the scene was not in SE, as I was upset about it. It seemed to add to that general feeling that I get through the movies that the Empire is an uncaring military machine. I was just wondering if it made it into the DVD release, as it wasn't mentioned on TFN?
  12. Keep in mind (slap me if I'm wrong, guys) that if you turn your grafics down, your cpu does more of the work. Keeping the grafics up, within the specs. of your grafics card, force the card to handle most of the processing.
  13. [back on subject] Depending on how the game's going, I typically try and build a ds with shields at Coruscant, and at another planet like Endor. The one at Endor (or wherever) is part of my prison planet. Where all of my rebel inmates go to rot. I'll put them on Coruscant at first, but then it's off to the spice mines. =o) Get my troops upgraded, and my ship tech. a bit higher, and they get dark trooper garrisons, a ds with shields, and a very respectable fleet to gaurd above, also with dark troopers. If the game's going just the way I like it to, I'll usually have officers in place on the ground, and on the gaurding fleet with full defender squads, and constant esp. missions from either a character/esp. droid. If I get that to that point in the game, you prob. wont be around long enough for the second ds, but hey, it's happened. =o)
  14. I've kind of gone the way of single player for now as well. I tried giving myself a dissadvantage, like spawning furthest away from where I was needed, with a class I couldn't do much damage with during that point in the battle. (and) Other little things like walking when I could take a speederbike. I'm really focusing on getting really good at the game so that when a server is up, I might try and show up with a [sPAM] tag on, and see if any1 notices. =o)
  15. Yeah, any planet in/near uprising, or not very loyal that has nothing holding thier support but troop presence will throw most of a sector against you if the garrison is lost. Much later on in the game the domino effect is a bit lower if most of the sector's been loyal to you for a long time.
  16. Against really good opponents, or just shortest games played? (Over the Zone against real, if not good players) Rebs: day 7. He moved everything from Coruscant and I sent a lone med. transport for the heck of it. Too bad he had also scrapped his planetary defenses expecting more than enough time to build up c/yards. Imps: day 21. Silly reb player decided my extra Victory Destroyer needed some early target practice, so he made sure that when it found his base, he had no defenses to speak of. Both of these where on hq victory.
  17. Ok, so I've played reb ever since it came out. (Still one of my favorites) I played on the zone for years. One dark and gloomy evening here in the state of Washington, I was playing as the Imperials, pretty much handing my opponent his oportunity to beat me every 10 turns or so, and not getting an acceptance speach on the offer. He was doing very poorly. I figured: "I'm bored, why not?". So, I sent ONE Infilitrator unit to sabotage the Rebel base. Now, the base had a very good fleet blockading from an attack I didn't feel like making, General Skywalker (Jedi Student) and Admiral Antilles at the helm. On the fleet, and on the ground where a combined 6 sullistan regiments, and several of the other unit types that he had placed there to protect from sabotage and bombardment. On the planet itself (Yavin.. I don't know why he moved it there) was General Solo Yep, pretty much not using anything he really had against me. (Gotta protect that base, right?) So another 47 days went by, and it switches to the cutscene of the rebel base being attacked. My little Infiltrator squad had come through! My opponent surrendered after that.. Not the best fight I'd ever had over the Zone. =o)
  18. Yes, normally one day before Han is attacked by them, they show on a close-by Imperial planet..
  19. lol.. I have an original Nintendo hooked up in my living room right now with Super Mario Bros/Duckhunt in it. =o) If any1 else is interested, I have about 6 others.
  20. If you don't have firewall issues, you can start a game through msn messanger, gamespy, or direct connect.
  21. The Zone: Years. Kali could be a good one, since Vader's got me hooked on it, but I do check irc from time to time, and I have 30 ppls under "rebellion" on my msn messenger. =o)
  22. Well where's the fun in that? =o)
  23. Kali's a great server to play over, since it bypasses built in firewalls. (My personal issue at the moment) I'm pretty much avail. any time for a game.
  24. I just cheated, and used the endor starting fleets.. as imps, but I still saw home1 before I blew it up. =o)
