Come on, give us a hint at least! Which side were you playing? If it was Rebels at least I have a theory. Although judging from your avatar, you seem to be more of an Imp. I´m using 1.01 btw but only because my oponent in my first and only game so far told me it was necessary for playing him.

Hi, this probably is a stupid question, so let´s get it over with: In the forums everybody (except me) has these neat quotes and graphics below the text they post (I don´t even know what they´re called). Not the avatar (I can do this obviously). How can I get those? Who´ll give me a little how-to?

Well, it seems it´s not me who´s occasionally not making sense.

In my current (unedited) game I´m losing imperial characters by the truckload! I send a couple of them on a diplomacy misson to a neutral planet and all of a sudden I get the message, they´re dead! How can this be? There hasn´t even been a battle. And as far as I know the Rebels can´t assassinate. So what´s killing them?

Thanks for the comfort. But I think is going a little too far. Unfortunately I can´t play as much as I´d like so there are others to whom this forum means more.

Hey, I had hoped to be the first to post here since I introduced the idea (What, me humble?). My wife says she can´t tell when I´ll get a night off to play. But I´ll keep you posted (pun intended).

Nope, the mask is speaking german and is bang on target I´m afraid. I´m sober but didn´t realize, that the nick "SS_Officer" is supposed to be in SW context. Instead I understood it in historical context ... That´s Germans for you. I suppose apologies are in order. I´m off to write a private message to a certain officer ... Hey Jahled, thanks for reassuring me that I was not the only one who liked the movie. For the time being my vote still goes to ROTJ though. I love the way three parallel battles are played out at the end (Luke vs. Vader an Palpatine, Han, Leia etc. vs. Stormtroopers, Rebel fleet vs. Imperial fleet). They all go through the same phases: Rebel confidence, shock when it´s revealed that the Emperor set them up and finally triumph, when the Rebels win through. (Note: all you Imps insert adequate (had to check my dictionary for that one) terms to the contrary ) Also I like the figure of Palpatine sitting calmly on his throne revealing how completely he fooled the rebels. That kind of hubris just can´t go unpunished. (Note: Happy polly loggies again to all you Imps .) As for realism : the heroics are more or less exactly what we see in all action movies. The heroes need to win or it doesn´t make a story (at least not a very good one). (Note: ... aw screw it.

Aha, so I take it, suncrushing is different from "assault and scrap" only in terms of desructivity (desctructiveness ? destructtonomy ?? aw,heck ). So the question basically is: What kind of game do you want? I guess there´s no use complaining if you didn´t agree to limit certain tactics.

To me it is simple: When you play against an opponent you use every trick in the book as long as you didn´t agree on any limitations. This won´t necessarily lead to a nice game, but a very competitive one. If you want something else try to find an agreement before the game. Assault and scrap may be a tactic that destroys the flair of the game but I feel it has a much overlooked advantage: it sure speeds up the game. The one game I played so far (against Lebarronn90) was decided after a mere 3 hours. (of very hectic gaming) I´m looking forward to having a long, slow, epic game one time but I know it´ll be hard to find the time. Now: Who´ll explain the term "suncrushing" to me?

Hi Fuzzy, as I said elsewhere, I´m in the same position and had success finding players at the Gamespy Arcade. On two occasions I met another player within the hour. Perhaps we can promote the site a little here, so more people look there. Also, if you want to play, drop me an email at umehler@gmx.net Unfortunately I can play only on Mon, Tue and Thu evenings after 7pm CET (GMT +1). On the up side, I´m rather a newbie an therefore easy to beat. (also I´m too stupid to get that avatar up and running. )

Hello all, I finally managed to solve my problems with your site by updating my browser and am now able to post Ever since I reactivated my copy of rebellion a few weeks ago, I was looking for kindred spirits on the net because I just KNEW there had to be those who like me feel, Rebellion is NOT the worst game ever. Needless to say I was overjoyed to finally make it here. I´m mainly looking for multiplayer opponents here and have already managed to get through one game, getting thoroughly trounced in the process . But enough of my waffling: I´ve seen a lot of players look for opponents on this site but there is no particular place for them to go. So (finally) my suggestion: How about a forum dedicated to bringing players together and arranging games? Even better: how about a chat from where players set up games on the spot? Yesterday I was looking for players an Gamespy for three hours. One turned up but my computer froze and when I got back he was gone. This is the place for all things Rebellion. So what better place to look for players can there be?
