  1. I just did a small upgrade and got a nasty malware myself. so off to format yet again (vundo sucks)

  3. I considered them for the militia side in the clone wars, they just have very low priority
  4. the AI attempts to build the largest ship it can for its avaialble cash, unfortunately sometimes it gets confused and tries building something too big, this is something I am attempting to fix
  5. the eclipse isn't buildable at this point without some hacking, though it should be in the Byss map I wish I could do the effects you descibe however that isn't possible with the game engine.
  6. fraps is your best option, though it has a minimal cost for all features it is worth it IMO gamecam is another one i've tried and it isn't as well supported ZD Soft Game Recorder I have not tried

I couldn't go back to 0.45 if I tried, there is a lot of work that had to be done to improve performance the movement issues are things that require tweaks, 0.45 ships turned around and went backwards if ordered a target in some cases antialiasing has to be enabled in windows in the video driver settings.
  8. mac or don't have 1.1 patch? a lto of the maps have planets or stars that may not like certian graphics cards

  11. if the mod uses an external text string file for localization they are referenced via $9009 ummm afaik any hod over 40km will crash the maximum clip distance of the map is around 1000 km no matter the setting icon and UI files have to have explicit formatting to work (I don't know what it is, hence my mod has issues) getsettingbyname in gametype files does not work.
  12. the victory conditions are bugged in general, though you can set the bouy to self destruct after a time period preventing further construction when I make the new planet pack/ territories mod updates I will fix lots of little bugs like this.

  14. could be a video driver issue, I love how they always waffle on support of features and seem to break stuff with each update
  15. you don't need to decompile it, the overrideBigFile switch basically treats the data directory as a .big file so creating a directory in data called 'ships/icons' and then creating a blank file in it should suffice

  18. weird, so if you don't move the camera things don't slow down? or does it just suddenly make everything go to a crawl? how does the stock game or other mods work?
  19. or it could be the interface is lagging, but hte game is smooth, try adding -hardwarecursor to your shortcut.
  20. golans will be stationary, they may move a little bit, but not much
  21. I've never found a way to use skunks editor with the ships, I simply place a dummy ship where I want it with the right orientaton and then edit the level in notepad to put the right shipname in.
  22. is it vista? opengl basically runs in emulation mode on vista, so HW2 will take a performance hit. do you have any weird 16x AA on or anything?
  23. try setting processor affinity to one core in the task manager as well, HW2 was not written to take advantage of dual core and the processors may be dividing up threads weird
  24. actually you just need to know the names, skunks editor won't load other fiels afaik, so you'll have to go in notepad and paste in the right ship names.
  25. Athlon 64 something oc'd to 2.2ghz 2gb ddr @ 400mhz 7900gt 256mb Windows XP Pro everything runs fine will be moving to a 4000 x2 probably OCd to a 4400 or 4600 depending on stability
