I was wondering how long it would take people to mock Lucas' bulging neck. Well done. I also found this funny.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

I spent some time over clocking my video card and have managed to get it running about 40% faster without instability. I can now play Oblivion with full Anti Aliasing and all graphics set to the max. Now, if I could figure out what the hell is wrong with my laptop I could do the same. I can't wait to get another gig into my rig I was planning on taking some screenshots, but apparently the Print Screen button doesn't work in Oblivion. I also tried Fraps, but that just lead to the game feezing. -

I started out with an Imperial knight (basically a combination of caucasian and african features with skin tones from black to stark white). This character is by far my favorite, though after five hours of game-play I'm still only lvl 1. I also started a Dark Elf mage. I'm not as impressed with the magic classes. The spells are all insanely expensive compared to the weapons for the melee classes, though the armor can get somewhat expensive. I might delete this guy and try a stealth class... maybe an assassin or something. I'll post a few screenshots tomorrow -

I'm very impressed by this game. The graphics are superb, AI is excellent, and many of the annoying little things from Morrowind are nolonger there. I was a little put off by the low-detail on distant terrain, but you get used to it. Once I get the 512 meg of ram back that I lent to a friend I should be able to eat this game. Seems I've found something to take me away from WoW. -
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion

It seems I lucked out today. My local EB only got enough copies to satisfy their pre-order list. Fortunatly a woman from a city about 45 minutes away was delivering her son's pre-order to him at the local college only to discover it was the regular release, not the collector's edition (not much difference). It also seemed that one pre-order of the collector's edition had cancelled. So, I got the regular version this kind woman was holding, and she got to pay $11 for a 120 page book, a coin and a "Making Of" DVD. Off to install now. The system requirements are rather steep on this one. Not that my desktop (and likely my laptop) can't handle it. -
It seems that we're not to be counted amoung the fortunate few here in Canada who get to play Oblivion on the Twentieth (today... well, technically yesterday as of my typing) and so I must wait until 1:00 and take a break at work to scurry down and pick up a copy. For those of you who don't know this series, and have no clue what this game is like, imagine an MMORPG that you play by yourself. The world (at least in Morrowind) is massive, the quests countless. And what's even better: it's not a walk in the park. Morrowind took skill to play. Sure there were some glitches you could take advantage of, but if you were to attempt playing it honestly, you would find the gameplay rewarding. I hope that Oblivion is similar, though a fresh story line will be much appreciated. So, whoelse is planning on investing many unrecoverable hours in this game?

Also 41. I thought Barada was a Mortal Kombat character.

Hmm, Tofu must be runnign out of things to spam about if he's resorted to this. Oh how desparate the new folks are

Radio Shack? You haven't switched over to "The Source" yet? I guess it doesn't really matter, same over-priced product with a different name on the store...

It's very cool stuff. I watch videos like that and think to myself "Wow, I think I'll do that". Then I remember that I would have to get into shape, start eating right and become dedicated... and so nothing ever comes of it (Note: I'm five feet, six inches and 130 pounds. I'm not overweight ) I believe that there is a commercial for Bell MP3 Cell Phones that displays such skills.

Dino doesn't really die, she just works . That and she's got her own forums to look after. I know she's not in the field all the time, but when she is I assume there isn't a four hundred mile internet cable that comes with her It has been a while since SS has been here, and I'm just as confused by his last post as any of you. If the apparently dead forum members I would like to hear from are Mask and AA.

I agree with Tofu. If you get it and it's in good conditiuon make a neutral comment. You got what you wanted and were satisfied with it, but it took quite a while to get your hands on it.

As yet Evos is the only one I will venture to spend time looking at. I know I can't get the time I would waste on the others back .

Well, with some of my courses my teachers use their lecture time to sprinkle us with their own perspective on certain issues, and occasionally their lectures cant to a one-sided perspective. Like Mad said though, that's not the issue here. The issue is that they basically want more money for less work. One thing that happened just before our reading weak (spring break sort of. It was just last week) was when my Criminology teacher returned our tests, and then told us that all of our tests would be like that, "like that" being multiple choice. The problem was, her choices were so similar the test was almost impossible. When we asked her if she would consider doing a standard test, with a combination of test choices she said "Well then I'd have to mark all those tests", to which a friend of mine replied "That's your job". Right now we use those blasted scan-tron sheets. Find your question and fill in the bubble for the corrosponding answer. That way they just pop them into a machine and they're magically marked for you. It's now Day 2 of the strike and I'm running out of things to do. Unfortunately next Monday is the earliest I would be going back.

I think he was talking about Field Marshal Rommel, the Desert Fox, from the Second World War. As far as I know, so long as your avatar doesn't contain offensive profanity, nudity, extreme violence or blatantly offensive material you're alright. Rommel should be fine (seeing as I have Dönitz in my avatar).

Actually, I know two people where are or were teachers. The one who is retired complained he wasn't getting paid enough... until he retired and now he says they make too much. I tend to agree with him. He is a substitute teacher and we've calculated that he makes roughly $30/hour, just to substitute teach. Regular teachers need only take "upgrade courses", or workshops, and their pay increases automatically by a percentage. They can take as many of these workshops as they want (though I believe their pay is capped at $96 thousand). This is just for public school! My friend who has been teaching public school for about two years now agrees that they get paid too much for what they have to do. Rarely are they looked in upon, and the same course materials are simply recycled year after year. When it comes to the college teachers who are striking, their base pay is $80 thousand a year with a max pay of double that. And they think they're not getting paid enough. Now, those aren't their only demands. They want smaller classes, more prep time and more vacation time (they currently get six weeks of hollidays). So basically they want more money for less work.

Well, it seems that the post-secondary teaching staff here in Ontario are more concerned with money than providing a quality education. As of 12:01 this morning they are on strike because they weren't given the conditions they wanted during their contract negotiations. They had just turned down a 12% pay increase over three years because they wanted 12.6%. They quibbled over 0.6%! Not all of my teachers are to blame. Several were kind enough to put up the next five weeks worth of lecture notes and assignments, however thsoe were the part-time teachers who weren't allowed to vote to strike, aren't getting paid for the strike time, and have had their contracts terminated due to the strike. So the people who get to come back after the strike have given us nothing, and the people who aren't comming back have given us the tools to further our education. So, is anyone else affected by this, or does anyone have an opinion? I'll be here all day for at least the next week...

It's often hard to tell when Tofu attained a given rank with the prodigous amount of spam he's produced .

The Battle for Middle Earth II

Well, as I'm a student, I'm only working part-time. I re-fill printer cartriges, and the evening aren't especially demanding. So long as I'm not neglecting customers I can do whatever I want. As for bitlord... might I suggest you get the game the legal way? -
Alright, so I picked it up today so I could play it at work. First, I have to gripe about the fact that the only way you can get a DVD version of the game is if you pay $10 more for the collector's edition (which of course I did). I haven't had time to play a thorough game, but thus far it seems they have improved on the original. None of this build-point crap that we were forced to endure with the last one. The hero creator is a nice touch, but limits you too much with regards to appearance. I'll have to play a little more to get a solid opinion. Anyone else had a chance to try it out?

The nice thing is my tower is already blue with power hookups for LEDs, so it would just be a matter of some altertaions... some expensive alterations . I think I'll hold off until I'm a millionair.
