  1. If you read Survivor's Quest, Fel's stormtroopers have enhanced vision, breathing, hearing, etc. I know they were elite troops, but they were wearing regular stormtrooper armor.
  2. I know, you meant landing claws. Regular TIEs would land and rest on thier solar panels. Capitol ships had the launching racks to make it mroe organized in the landing bays, and to allow for a more orderly launching.
  3. It's Lukes passive stance that makes Kyp seem stronger. Luke doesn't feel the need to use his powers to prove himself, while Kyp probably uses the force to qipe himself. The thing I didn't like about authors writing in the pre-NJO novels is that every author who introduced a new Jedi, except for Horn, felt the need to make them stronger than Luke, like there was a competition to make the best Jedi ever.
  4. But with repulsor lifts, why would you need landing gear? Isn't that a little redundant?
  5. I'm not sure. The novels make it sound like Stormtroopers have a video feed in their helmets, so they don't look through the "eye" sockets, but see through moniters in the helmets. I think the elongated visor would make for better sight lines though. Pluss it reduces the weight of the helmet.
  6. True, there is still the possibility that aliens have landed on earth, though there is no concrete evidence of that. If they have, the possible technology possessed by governments around the world is staggering.
  7. I'd stay away from the FX 5900. It had some problems that NVidia is only now fixing with the 6800. I have a 9800 and I'm quite happy with it, and you should be able to find one for cheap now. The rest of you system if pretty good, and the price is nice too.
  8. YOu must consider the types of energy generation we, as simple citizens, are not privy to. There is also technology that we know nothing about, but large cerperations are developing. I think that FTL travel is possible within this millenium, but probably not within my lifetime.
  9. Aye, anything else will yield the AI playing defensively. WHile that makes for a larger battle, it's not quite as fun.
  10. Special Air Service, the british special forces. The best in the world, or so I think. They're simialr to the American SEAL Team Six, German GSG-9, and the Canadian JTF 2(rated vary closely with the SAS I might add). The Ausies also have an SAS, which makes it very confusing as to which you are talking about.
  11. How old will Ben be in the new series, five or six? That's about the same age as the twins were when they started thier adventures. I wonder how stron he'll be in the force. I mean, with parents like that, he'll be able to kick Kyp's butt (which is good, because I hate that smugg bastard).
  12. If we could fins ome way to access other dimensions (physicists know they exist) we could begin experimenting with such things. Star Trek's solution to the problem works too. Warp is theoretically possible, it's simply folding space to make the distance shorter.
  13. I thinkyou're getting ripped off onthe Radeon 9800. Ican get that here for around $200, so that should be around 150 euros. Then again, ATI is based here. The configuration is good. You'll be able to run pretty much anything on that. If you go for a 2400 processer though, you can over-clock it to 3200, and save yourself a lot of money. You also need to include a case, but that doesn't need to be anything fancy.
  14. They look like a variant of the TIE Advanced we're used to seeing in the TIE FIghter games. The only difference is that the solar pannels aren't as large. http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/tieavenger/img/eu_bg.jpg
  15. OOC: Just because they weren't in ANH doesn't mean they didn't exist... though I'll change it so that my pilots rae trading in TIEs for T/Is. I guess I got promoted too. I was only a Captain, but I'll take Admiral(Since I've been promoted twice in rank since I posted my first post here). I'll continue tomorow, and work out the planns of SM's defection. Where are you right now?
  16. If we get good enough, we can spam all of the servers with people who want to join... all of this is assuming that the game is a success. It could end up like BFV.
  17. True. And with all ofthe people here, we could have quite a source for cannon fodde... erm, troops .
  18. Yeah, but the T/I was built to be fast. The power needed for the shield system on the A-Wing should have reduced its speed.
  19. But if we form a clan, we'll need a website... and then we'll need to work on that website... WORK! If there are any experienced skinners out there, once this game comes out I'll need you to make me a Thrawn skin to replace the Imperail Officer.
  20. I've never understood how the A-Wing could have shields and a hyperdrive, and still be faster than a TIE Interceptor. It just doesn't make sense!
  21. I've read the series, though that was a while ago. I still prefer the Defenders simply because they look better, and they have some features even the officer's T/I model probably doesn't have (warheads, tougher shileding, enhanced lasers, ion cannons).
  22. On the easier settings (anything upto and including hard) the AI sends only small attacks for the first part of the game, and then ammasses a large fleet at thier base. If you play agians more than one AI they usually attack more often.
  23. I think those were called TIE Avengers, though their appearance is a little different than the standart Interceptor. I'd take a Defender over anything. All of the shielded models of the un-shielded TIEs loose maneuverability, speed, and firepower because of the upgrade...
  24. It would be neat to travel to see what the future is like (past what you will live to see) or go back in time to see great moments in history. The only problem is, even if you could go back, you would cause a time loop. Because you did what you went back to do, you wouldn't have needed to go back to do it, there for you wouldn't have, but then you would need to go back because it wasn't changed... it would go on forever. I've never seen Even Horizon, but I want to. What did you mean by your last comment (about it not being out of subject?)
  25. Looks to me like the plastic-pantie part of it would be very uncomfortable, and I'd imagine the helmet doesn't provide very good vision.
