    ranks?

Or maybe you're cloaking your rank with some devious Sith magic. -Forget that you thought that ! I'll forget, that I thought that. -Huh ?
  2. I once considered making a 'Hunt for Zsinj' TC, but I haven't found any authentic pic of Zsinj himself. I even mailed Aaron Allston. He said, there would be one in 'Cracken's threat dossier', but I had no luck getting that source-book, either through good will or by threats So I guess this period is of the hook
  3. No, he means an option in most (or today in every) compression software to create multiple volumes, or sometimes it's called spaned volumes. This just splits up the archive it creates from all the files. When you unpack it again, every single file will be there like before. You don't have to sort the readmes and such stuff.
  4. Yeah, I'm trying to find these things in the savegames, but the structure could be the same, I'll have to look it up sometime. You could try this, either if there's a registry-entry telling you where the cd is, or you use something like daemon-tools to play from an cd-image of your original cd. You could then try replacing the old movies in the image file, while still using the original names. That should work
  5. It sure is in one of the dlls, but that's all I know, sorry.
  6. You can try this one : http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/dll_entries.zip Just put it in your RebEd directory.
  7. You do know, that with 2 gencores all the AI can do is lay siege on a planet, but is unable to bombard it, right ?

    ranks?

Mean it does, a Jedi I never will be
  9. Oh yeah, and according to my games-mag the sequel Anno 1503 (respective 1503 A.D.) should be in stores at the end of Oct. I saw previews on the mag's DVD, sweeeet.
  10. I'd rather have that Mercury weather, than all the rain and wind that's currently marking my way from the parking zone to the university... To the best of my knowledge Anno was created by a German company named Sunflowers and it came out about 5 years ago. That was the time when I had the choice of joining the armed forces or civil service for a year.
  11. Well, that's somehow my prob too But since I found no way to add texures as bitmaps (like the original models have), I sort of cheated, applying colors to certain parts of the models. This way the model will not be plain white and with a little patience you can even add stuff, like the drive-flares I did for the Executor. These are just really flat cylinders, with a orange-red color on them, then I scaled 'em down and stuffed them into the drives Btw: Venix, is it possible that LW cannot export to other formats, than .lwo ? Converting between .lwo and .3ds creates some strange effects using Lith.
  12. Any of these timelines sound great, let's do all of 'em The Vong can really be a problem, I just started Dark Tide 1 (yeah, finally wound up letting Chewie die to those who remember) and I haven't seen any model, or picture of the Vong troops, chars, fighters and ships so far. The only thing I have are screenshots of the JK2 models for the Vong trooper and for Nom Anor. Two character cards in total, wohoo
  13. Elvis: look at the first page of this very thread, I wrote it down there Venix: Sorry, Rebellion uses the .x file-format, or DirectX file format. The extension's .x .I found max plugs on the MS-Directx site, but the thing it exported was plain white, not the colors I applied to it earlier Markaine: Live to serve, I do The name-length tool worked for you ? Great ! Evaders, has it finally worked on your machine as well ? When you stopped writing I figured it must've worked, or you just got bored
  14. I think it was named Resource Hacker, cause if you write Win-progs, for instance in MS-VC++ and you include Icons, Bitmaps,... then these things are called resources. R.H. is just a generic editor for these files. You can try it on other things, like you Windows calculator, for example. I tried it on the tactical.dll and found the structure for the models (among other things) and that's how it started (well, sort of). The link is dead ? Oops, that was the original link in the 'About'-dialog of the prog. I always get a new version on my Pc-World cds, so I don't bother downloading
  15. Ahh Hastings, always a source of knowledge Thanks, I'll try it ! Elvis: that was also something we discussed in the semi-old forum. I had this idea, cause with a savegame-editor you could for example make certain scenarios, like the escape from Hoth, or Thrawn's siege of Coruscant, these kind of things. Also you can edit your fleets, characters, etc. .So this can be a good alternative to 'repair' character values that went wrong, or you can let the Rebels have imperial vessels and vice versa... These are things RebEd can and could not do, cause RebEd is for setting up the pre-conditions, then the game applies the values (if there is a variance for the stats). You can of course set the options that you can build the vessels on any side, although I don't know, if the game will complain, if you allow too many. I heard of a minimum character limit once, so it is at least possible.
  16. Hi again, the third thing I started in the semester-break was a savegame-editor. I already found the characters, ships, some troops, fighters and resource buildings, but : no chance so far with the planets. Does anyone know the hex values for the planets, or a site where this is explained ? I even mailed LEC, but their 'Web-Jedi' didn't even bother replying with a 'NO'.
  17. I don't think the 50 cards-limit could be broken Changing the resolution ? I think we discussed this once in the semi-old forum. Would be cool, though
  18. Yes I take it, you haven't read the tut, or looked into the models folder, hmm ?
  19. Not without rewriting the game, sorry.
  20. The semi-old one is gone ? Bummer, my poor bleeding fingers Ok, one thing I remember was, being able to capture enemy vessels with, assault transports or likely vessels. So you can have ISDs as Rebels, MonCals as Imps, ... of course, first you'd have to disable them. If it would be done the way it was in Homeworld, it would also suffice (although I like the other version better). Another big thing was new tactical maneuvers. Not just for those of us, that finally want to see, how a mark-sable maneuver looks, simply more maneuvers, like barrages, or always presenting your good shields to the enemy, ... that kind of stuff. Did Greg ever copy our ideas ? That way the things we forgot, wouldn't be lost forever.
  21. Venix: Wow, I think I'm outgunned here Igor: Errm, well seems I'm a newb to that too, but I'll look into it right away, thanx ! Btw: has Polycount yet started to release all our beloved Q3A models for UT2k3 ? BTW@all: if you're not sure, if the new models are worth the download, I put two screenshots on my site http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/
  22. It is, but I developed something in the semester holidays for the name-lenght-limitation. Although my first beta-tester Evaders had some problems with it. You can try it out for yourself and see, if there are any loose ends to this: http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/Rebellion_cardspace_update.zip it updates all the CHARACTER name spaces to something longer than for the Kaiya Andrimetrum card. Also the descriptions can be 80 characters longer than those of the card for Lord Vader. Mind you, this works only with 'fresh' Encytext & Textstra .dlls So you either have to use those from the CD (write-protection off), or you have to reinstall. But apply the Cardspace update before you do anything with RebEd ! Also: I have the US-version of Rebellion, so I dunno, if it'll work with Supremacy (UK), or other possible versions.
  23. I hope the old forum will be completely ported into this new one, cause we already had bleeding fingers from writing all the cool ideas for Rebellion 2
  24. You can download it from the original site: http://rpi.net.au/~ajohnson/resourcehacker/ I've never seen it behaving otherwise as opening the .dlls in the Rebellion directory. If it can't open a file it usually says something like 'file is not a win32pe file...', but you need no previous configuration, or installation. Just unzip and run it.
  25. Ok, first of all: my Executor is halfway a cut between the XWA model and another one. I don't know the name of the other author right now, but I included it in the readme of the model. -second: every model can be replaced ! -third: maybe you really should check out the tut -cause fourth: the resource explorer used there is another one (the link is in the tut) -and fifth: glad someone experienced the non-solidness also. That means I didn't screw up with max. Maya's on the third ut2k3 cd ??? Maybe I really should look on that cd, instead of playing bombing-run matches -sixth: the textures are 256 color bitmaps with stripped off header info, as far as I can tell and what other people told me. So far I could not decipher them -last, but not least: I have quite a lot models, most rescued from the long-gone swma site. I'll probably set up a directory on my site, so you guys can experiment with them yourself.
