  1. Hmm, I'm gonna need DSL for this
  2. Hi, the three views are close, medium and far. Although you don't need to replace all three it looks kinda weird if you don't The original models look less and less detailed, as you go farther 'away' in your view. I think that was for the sake of slower computers. Like I wrote in my tut, I didn't feel that ambitious to actually create 3 models and the one works fine for me so far The only thing I can imagine, that lead to the message about the compressed file format is, that you may have entered something wrong in the 'replace resource' dialog. It's boring and sometimes I get confused too, but the order for the three fields is -301 (general for all models) -model (like you said 2620, 2621, or 2622 for close, medium and far) -1033 for language, this also applies to every model. If you have a different value for the language in your original models, then use this. Although I can't imagine that, I'm living in Germany and the only version ever sold here that I saw was the US version. I don't know, if the value differs in Supremacy, the UK version. Anyone with Supremacy here, who might know ?
  3. What about : Heir to the Empire ? Or : Rebellion - oops, we did it again (just been to the cinema, Austin 3)
  4. Ummm, I don't know if I get your question right Elvis, but like a legendary soccer coach once said : 'I'm gonna answer the question I thought you asked' -The model editor can be any 3D modelling program. You just have to : a) be able to export your model to the .x format , or b) to the 3ds format and convert that with with the tools I suggested, or some other. The Resource Hacker prog is just for getting the models into the game, nothing else.
  5. About the fighters, you can use RebEd to make it more fair And they do only use their torps, when the shields are down, although they do have an unlimited supply of them I always wanted to board one of the fighters myself, like in the X-Wing game-series. One malfunctioning Y-Wing taking down a whole wing of Interceptors, then the ISD ... hehehe... tremble
  6. Well, as I said in the semi-old: my laptop likes Rebellion. As for XP: should work, I just put it on the Laptop, so I can tell you soon.
  7. Now you can sue him, like any good deranged psycho would
  8. Err, Owen-ObiWan I've been converting some XWA models in the past time (many still beta, I'll tell you, when they're finished) and they look definately better, than the original ones. With textures, instead of coloration they'd be perfect. Igor's right about the engine: I've played some big battles with some of the new models in it, like 4-5 Mc80bs, Nebulanb2s, ... and the game was really getting slower on my Athlon 1,3Ghz. While this is not a state-of-the-art-pc, it's not a lame one on the other side. So imagine, what it would be like with about 50 vessels for both sides...
  9. You could also trap him Harass his planets with a small fleet, one that'll be a pain in the arse but one he'll go after anyway, because of its ludicrous size. Do a little reconaissance of the planets first, then come with the fleet, bombard a bit and get out of there after one or two days. This is like those pesky attacks the computer always uses. Then after he'll see the pattern you laid out for him, like the fleet will appear clockwise/counterclockwise at each planet in the system, he'll intercept your little fleet with his big one. If you can escape, do it. You can prattle a bit, like 'I'll come back...', or whatever. What you will DO is coming back with your hidden big fleet, preferrably with one or two interdictors Takes a bit timing and luck, but it the element of surprise should petrify him enough for any serious mis-decisions in the big battle. Good luck and don't try this too often, or no one will be there to play with you
  10. The DS pic should be hidden with the fighter pics (tactical.dll), but as long as no one can actually make these pics viewable, I 'd say no. Hastings seems to be working on new videos. I've tried something in that direction, too. Looks good so far
  11. Lol, that's one of the best DVDs in my shelf. ....I played Shakespeare.....3 curtains.....

    Help!

Sorry, I don't know what it could be then. The .dll is nothing spectacular, just the dialogs for the gamestart inside the shuttle and stuff like that. Don't know, why this could crash
  13. I'd be satisfied with something, that would re-enable me to really chop the bad guys, like with JediMoves 1. This stopped working after I installed the JK2 upadte 1.3 and nothing ever since (no enyak mutilator, or console command) reenabled me to hack of the limbs of any stormy bold enough to shoot in my direction.
  14. The unofficial Enc at moseisley.com is also huuuge
  15. Thanx TK, it was right before my nose all the time... tsts.... getting old Btw: I checked out Maya PLE from the third UT2k3 cd (after I finished Malcom ) and it also passes out. It exports models, that will be invisible in Rebellion. Although that could be a tactical advantage
  16. You can split open any dll in Rebellion with the Resource Hacker prog I mentioned in my modelling tut. There you'll see it by its filetype, or if there are dialogs, or unknowns (like models and textures). The easiest is to click 'expand view' and then to scroll down.

    Help!

Hi, was the game already installed, or did this error occur with a freshly installed game ?
  18. Hmm, I thought about that for my event pics as well. The easiest way would be zipping the .bmps and the apropriate dllentries.txt file.
  19. I once saw the pics of 3PO's movement in a .dll, so there's nothing in the way of a 3D model to make. I'll dig into it and'll let you know, which dll it is.
  20. Well, if it's going to be pre-NJO, then we would still have Madine
  21. Although there is something ABOUT Fps, that sucks: Anyone remember the following line related to Duke Never : "When it's done." ?
  22. We'll never show that scene again
  23. Sad news everyone, -I sought out an old buddy with lightwave, but it can't import .3ds -I read that Cinema4D exports only text-based .x files, Rebellion needs binary (compressed, or uncompressed) .x files. I think I forgot that in my tut. Venix, you don't happen to know a way around the not-solid problem ? Some button saying something like : "make it one solid block that won't be transparent"
  24. It should work, well it did when I last installed Winzip (7.0 I think), since then I used Power Archiver which was free during that time and much easier to use. You should see the span-option in the -add to archive dialog (lower left), or what the name is respectively in Winzip nowadays.
  25. Glad I could help
