  1. Btw, we're still short some members of our dirty dozen of regular posters from the semi-old forum. To name just a few I'm missing : Magus, SS_Officer,... anyone seen 'em ?
  2. And I'm the guy, who found out the other method and the one who made the tutorial, if that's whom you mean. You got something interesting ? That sounds like new models. When I read your first post in this thread I wondered, if you were about to sue me
  3. I think his name was Magus, at least in the semi-old. I asked him a few times about the textures, but then (about june), he didn't seem to have a solution to this as well. I hope he found out how to do this in the meantime Btw, you could also apply a light-blue, or green color to the models
  4. My primary JK2 sites are : jediknightii.net, massassi.net and jk2files.com I know of two Sarlacc maps, although only one was really good. There has also been one with the Ewok village, but the first version was too dark for my taste.
  5. I already tried the saberrealistic one, but it didn't work after 1.3 & 1.4 You can try the Tavion-Mod, it's single-player and a rather good map as well. The author promised other maps, but for the last months I only saw that one.
  6. The models I convert are all from other people, so far. I'm no pro at 3d progs as well, but I know some basics and until now that was enough
  7. Tk, I had it, but I seem to have lost the dll. On second thought, the ESSD should be lying around in the pile of other models, so if I have it, along with the time to convert it, it'll be available
  8. Major reprogamming, like dis-assembling the code, bringing it into readable a form, like c++ code, then finding the responsible parts, changin them, compiling, testing (takes the longest time actually), ... Apart from, that disassembling is not legal, it would be a hell of a job and way above my capacities, I think
  9. **mumbles** Russian-Americans.. LOL (just kiddin') TK, did you have Latin at school ? Beati pauperes spiritum, or so I believe it went in the Asterix comics I speak only about less then 5 words in Russian and Japanese, but to add to the contest: I can read Italian and Spanish quite well
  10. The one site I posted in the semi-old forum has moved to: http://www.star-fleet.org/~imperial/index.php , but they seem to rebuild their site currently, so it's down at the moment. He has a complete mirror of the old swma stuff and some other things as well.
  11. I didn't go as far as creating whole images, well I actually tried first, but then I remembered that Rebellion doesn't mind if you just put all the data like a normal multi-session on your cd. So this was all that had to be done. How about scenes from the movies ?
  12. Actually I finished SOF2 a long time ago, May or June I think. The OICW was cool, but rather crappy to adjust at the first tests in the firing range. But after I got the hang of it, it was my weapon of choice for the rest of the game. The story was rather good at the end, not like your standard going to a mission and then returning to the safe base. Sometimes you just walk through rubble, where a shiny building stood before. Hastings you should try XWA and JK2 if you get some spare time. Even if it's just to replay the confrontation between Yoda and Dooku for the 1000th time, LOL.
  13. I'll stay with Whyrren's Reserve
  14. Well, I know that you can hide/orbit in an asteroid field, but I don't know if the AI does that Btw: Igor, do you know where Alderaan would have been ? With all the different starcharts (Rebellion, NJO) I never really figured was. I once read, it might have been in Seswenna.
  15. Can't they hide in the asteroid field later ? I don't remember right now, cause it's been a while since I've played as the Empire.
  16. Ok, since some people have had problems with executing the patch to get rid of the name-length problem. Igor suggested to me, that I put the modified dlls on. This way you won't have to patch anything, you just need to replace the two dlls in your main Rebellion directory. http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/Rebellion_cardspace_update_plan_b.zip When I ever have the time to write a english translation for my site (or at least parts of it) you guys can also view the cards I made after creating the patch.
  17. Untimely, surfing while you should be working ? LOL
  18. of target Untimely talks about opening the dlls of the 'root' dir of Rebellion to view the bitmaps and listen to the waves, ... Btw: you can edit the ranks to whatever you want with Resource Hacker. Just open the dll, change the text and click on 'compile script' before saving.
  19. I experimented with the cd image and aside from complaining about the filename (why do I always get UPCASE names on some cds when they are not in reality... ?) it seemed to work perfectly As for encoding the movies: the conversion tools should still be available on http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm .I think you should use the same resolution as the original ones have (dunno from memory now).
  20. Huh, when ? Is that the one private message, that I can't view and doesn't appear in any of the folders ? Igor, you know my email adress, you also asked me about the cardspace update (btw, does it work now on your pc ?) I put the links for the tutorial and the 4 models I have so far released into the Downloads section. I guess they will be on, as soon as someone checks them. But as I posted before in the model editing thread: I've put everything on my site http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/models/ , if you want screenshots : http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/ and the Resource Hacker prog, that I use in the tutorial to replace existing models in the game can be found here : http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ (I just asked for permission to put it on my site as well). So, I hope this settles it and you guys get happy with the new models and maybe even make some of your own
  21. Yup, but no one will tell what that gas was, although I can imagine a few
  22. Or what about Italian money ? I surely have 1.000.000. Lira lying around from the last vacation
  23. Igor, that's almost exactly what I do Although, if I see something from another model, or if it looks better than the XWA one, I take this one. But I plan to make all the XWA models as well. Of course, if anyone would also like to make some models, we could maximize our output, if no one makes the same model twice (economics lecture from yesterday still haunting my mind, sorry). While I was buisy fragging some youngsters at a LAN party last weekend (friday to sunday) and between gaming and somewhere visiting the university I've actually been working on new models My last experiments were the YT-1300, the YT-2400, the VSD and the ISD. All of them still need some tweaking here and there, so I don't want to show the w.i.p. yet. Markaine, thankx again for the praises, that's lifting my spirits. Especially after the 3 hours of math I just had .... breathe ... let the force flow ... yes ... ... ah, now I feel better.
