I don't think so, but i might get him to put one up. Or if we ever get an art section on this site i'll put some of it here.

...... a distinct nothingness. The entire room was filled in darkness. Luke pushed the others back outside the door, and then locked it open. "Wait here," he said, "you're going to want to see this." Calmly he strode into the darkened room, and promptly was swallowed up by the darkness. Luke stood alone and reached out with the force. He felt their presence, and the presence of the droids. He reached out into the darkness and connected with the others. Their minds so dazzling that the room was glowing in the force. Only shadows existed where the droids were. About 30 in total. Luke felt an impulse as a droid activated, followed a microsecond by all the others. Then forty snap-hisses as lightsabers were ignited. The droids attacked valiently with built in lightsabers and blaster cannons, but they couldn't hit anything. Luke moved suddenly and became one more of the eleven distinct blurs within the room. Lightsabers thrummed and crackled, and droid parts dropped all over the room. It was over soon. The lights came back on to reveal an astounded trio at the door. Luke: "Computer, how long this time?" Computer: "From activation of the droids, until the last mechanical part his the floor.... 0.76 seconds Master Skywalker. A new record." Luke glanced at the trio by the door, they were staring, but not at Luke. Wedge an Elvis were staring open-mouthed at the ten other men, but Iulan displayed the most emotional reaction. Staring only at one man, his mouth struggled to make the words come out..... Iulan: "Gra... Grand.... Grandad? They, they said you died. I don't understand. But, but you look younger, wha, why?" Iulor: "Yes Iulan, it's me. Not dead, younger, one of the side - effects f our journey." Iulan: "Journey, what journey?" Luke: "Guys, you're looking at the ten Jedi that served as the crew in the Outward Bound Flight Project." ........... OOC:

Yes that is true. Basically they observed that the electro-magnetic pulse of a nuclear explosion overloads electrical equipment. The problem is, focusing the enrgy. If they could buil an ion cannon, then it would be brilliant, you'd get the comm advantage, without the damage of civilian infrastructure. I think they're right to lean against not using it now. Once they've refined it more it'll be better. It's very similar to moving from carpet bombing to precision guided missiles. A hard call, you have to weigh public opinion and effectiveness and the lives of your men and women doing the fighting for you, not a job i want.

That sounds fairly realistic. A tragedy nonetheless. Stalin was wrong, he said "One death is a tragedy, a million is a statistic", well everyone one of those million is a single death for a family somewhere to contend with. And from what i've heard, Saddam is responsible for more than a million deaths just because he didn't like certain people. I saw some pictures today, they were of a twelve year old who had had her hands surgically removed because her cousin who lived in a different part of the country stole a loaf of bread. I don't need to say anymore.

Yeah, what worries me, is that if these are the weapons that America is prepared to admist to having, what are the weapons they DON'T want to admit to having? Plasma weapons, high power lasers?
-
OOC: No worries man, Jahled seemed to indicate that he would join us for a solid Imperial bashing. You gotta admit, his writing skills are second to none!

Is she? I couldn't remember, and is she definitely dead, or is she just missing?

Nice, makes you wonder what has happened to Corran and Kyle, they haven't really shown up much, though they are both mentioned in passing in the new Force Heretic book, Refugee i think.

This is the start of my new story, enjoy. Feels free to slag off my artistic crapness! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darkness. The land was enveloped in it. A shroud hanging over the bitter truth, a truth that few dared to oppose. Conflict, there was none, merely suffering, the tortured cries of a great society brought to its knees. A society rotted from the inside out. He knew this place, this society. He had never been to this planet, not even this sector, but he recognised what he saw. It was common across the galaxy now, charred remains, biological and mechanical decorated the landscape as far as the eye could see. Kyle Katarn lifted the electrobinoculors to his eyes, nothing. A vast empty expanse of death and nothingness. Kyle pondered the pain of depth. He’d been there, seen it, dipped his toe in the pits of anguish and despair, but that wasn’t his way, that wasn’t the way of the Jedi. His mission mattered now. All his teachers had drilled that into him, the ability to focus solely on the present situation, let the force handle the future, guide him to where it needed him to be. He’d lost friends because of that, they couldn’t comprehend his willingness to not have a plan. Lifestyle management his friends called it, unnecessary more like it. Kyle started to move purposefully across the wasteland. The Vong hadn’t reformed this planet. They’d taken it and moved on. He needed to know why. All the other planets they came to they had reformed to their purposes. But this planet, this planet they had left alone. Off into the distance Kyle could see the beginnings of a huge swamp. Strangely familiar, yet everything about this planet felt wrong and right, a curious mix of light and dark, an uncomfortable familiarity for Kyle. Though he knew he would constantly have to fight the dark both inside and out of him, he had hoped not to encounter it here. Kyle exited the small settlement, the only one on the entire planet according to sensor sources. The only known settlement, but there were others, one in particular, known only to a select few. A deep secret, hidden for years. Even Jan only knew of its existence, she knew the name but not the location, not even the location of the planet. There were others who knew. Luke of course, and Han, and Leia. Mon Mothma probably knew, but nobody knew where she was now. Chewie had known hadn’t he? Of course, that didn’t really matter now. Chewie was gone. Had given his life to save others. Death was inevitable, Kyle knew, but when it came, Kyle hoped he could meet it with the dignity Chewie had mustered. There were probably others that knew, Kyle suspected that Luke had also told Kyp. Ordinarily, Kyle might have felt a twinge of jealousy, resentment that Luke had to confide in Kyp in order to protect him. But in these times, he was glad that another knew of his whereabouts. Kyle had asked for this mission, partly out of interest, but mainly because the idea had struck him, and he didn’t want to offend Luke by talking to others about it. So he’d gone straight to him and asked him. Luke had been reticent at first, but was swayed by Han of all people’s arguments. Kyle was right, someone needed to find out why the Vong had left this planet alone, what was its secret? What did it have that no other planet had, or was it something that this planet didn’t have? Kyle strode into the swamp, he exercised due caution, Luke had warned him of the dangers of overconfidence in this place. When Luke warned him, there was a note of experience in his voice. Kyle briefly wondered what the story was behind that warning. The humidity was incredible, the foliage thick, and the insects terrible. Kyle pushed gently with the force, he radiated a slight odour, something that wouldn’t hurt the insects, just make them instinctively think that whatever it was coming towards them wasn’t food, and wouldn’t make a good host. The insects buzzed around, but didn’t land on him. It was getting lighter now. Kyle could feel the sticky heat of the dawn sun. The light didn’t penetrate the canopy, yet, but the heat wafted through, making his walk more uncomfortable. He was glad he had decided to forgo his robes, and wear only a loose jumpsuit, and carry only the essential equipment, including his two lightsabers. His and his fathers, one a relic, the other was the cutting edge of New Republic technology, crafted over a long week in meditation. The going was harder than he had anticipated, roots sprawled around his legs, and not all of them were stationary. He didn’t know the names of the indiginous plants, nobody did. As far as he knew, this planet had never even been surveyed. The animals were nameless, as were the plants. Anonymity suited Kyle. He prefered to blend in when with people, as a lesser known Jedi he wasn’t recognised in public, which was nice. He wasn’t around to be a hero, merely a role model, someone to protect the populous, not foster hero worship. Kyle was a loner to all intents and purposes. A man of few words and few friends, and suited him just fine. Ah, there it was, his destination, just ahead of him. Now, the time was here, time to see if he could make a difference, find some clue, some pointer, to the answer. Answer? Well, the question really needed to be defined a little more didn’t it? Yes, it did. This was going to take some time Kyle mused. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ More coming when i get the chance to write it...

Guys, guys, they're only colour, calm down......

Interesting. For someone who 'can't keep up' you seem to have a pretty good grip ofwhat's going on, and you do have an interesting perspective from your own circumstances. This is one of the things i'm most worried about. Even if we do go to war, and win, with a minimum of bloodshed and it's all good and has a happy ending.... ....we'll be right back where we started in 50 years time. The instability created by a puppet government is lethal to a country, look at Afghanistan. The UN (or whoever), went in, did the job, got out, and gave them an election. Look at them now. Hardly any progress has been made. Where's all our aid money going? The situation in Afghanistan is dire at the moment. All the skilled labour is leaving, and extremeist groups are springing up all over the place. Peace has been restored, but for how long...? And at what cost....?

Yeh, Gank, did they really lock the doors? And from what i read it sounds like they sprayed CS gas out like they were trying to put out a FIRE, the implication was there was a fine mist throughout the entire club, just to stop one fight. It seems a little heavy handed. Or has the British press once again spectacularly exaggerated an event in terms of what actually happened?

OOC: Now if I can just get Jahled to come and start posting we can get the Rebels up and running...

I don't think we'll ever get a full set of pictures unless we draw them all ourselves, the books just don't have pictures of all the characters. So, the hunt is on, who's our best artist. We should poen an art section anyway....

Okay, I'm going to try and summarize what we've said about facilities. Essentially they will stay the same. Instead of an advanced training facility, we're going to have a cloning facility, so something with cylinders would be good. Also, instead of advanced shipyards we want Mon Cal shipyards, so something sprawling like a nest with half built ships. Greens and beiges you know the sorts of colours the Mon Cal ships are. Very organic looking. The other facilities are to stay as they are, but new artwork in the same style as the new ones would probably help. Anything I've missed folks?

Weeeell, i think we have our answer then.

Let's go with that then.

Ah, i remember when i was about 7 or 8, i used to love going to museums...... -
Question... How can we remove Saddam without force? Is it possible? I think we're all in agreement that he has to go aren't we?
-
Fair does chaps. Anyway, for an interesting point of view, check out http://www.megafortress.com It's Dale Brown's site, an american author you might have heard of. You may disagree with him, but he speaks his mind, and does seem to be making an effort to back himself up with evidence, and perhaps most importantly, he retains a large degree of objectivity. IMHO.

What, not who, i meant pig latin, but i couldn't remember whether it was connaitre or savoir.

Whatdayathink; turn-based or real time?
ElvisMiggell replied to JediGreg's topic in Rebellion 2 Ideas
I'm still not convinced that it's turn based, i thought that if you told a fleet to move then it goes straight away, also the same for building things. Basically, i can't see any way to make it any better.
