  1. Indeed, and worse if they were on viagra!
  2. Evaders i'm not sure i agree with you. Fair enough, the American politicians are fairly elected with no pressure to vote for certain people, no qualms there, but it seems to be the American way (please note the use of the word SEEMS) to automatically assume that whatever you leader, whoever they may be, is right. I believe you guys call it patriotism. I've seen people go into a catatonic fit when another american suggests that for example, Mr Bush might be wrong about something. To me this whole concept of it being your civic duty to back up your leader doesn't make sense. Where does free will come into it? You are not forbidden from speaking out per se, but it does seem like people get an extremely strong reaction just for having a different opinion. I would like to think that in the UK we encourage diversity. We don't call anti-war protesters unpatriotic. We might think and say that they are wrong, but there is no suggestion that they are not patriotic. To me patriotism is an ideal, like independance. It is not linked to any leader or individual, it is linked to a country. In the current example, war and anti war protesters are both equally likely to be either patriotic or not, you can not want to go to war because you believe it's in your country's best interests, and you can want to go to war because it's in your best interests. Because the maority elect an individual, the minority shouldn't have to suddenly change their perspective and agree with that person, otherwise you loose the minority that makes society diverse and therefore free. --------------------------- Disclaimer: I realise i've probably offended some people by saying that. I'm not saying that it is the case, and am prepared to admit that with the flawed media, and the several thousand mile distance, my perspective may well be skiewed. What i have described is how America APPEARS to me, and is in no way meant to cause offense. I willingly admit that the UK is little better, maybe worse. All that i have said is my opinion and in no way consciously represents any group society or body and is solely my humble opinion.
  3. It deals with that in Star Wars Tales 3 the comic book / graphic novel, it's quite funny, Vader reminiscing about the good times he and Threepio had.
  4. Haha, and were they satisfied?
  5. Haha, and were they satisfied?
  6. You can just hear the music in the background, good ole John Williams. I've got the album John Williams 1969-1999, it's absolutely quality.
  7. All in a day's work for you though Jahled isn't it? Sitting there with yourr lethal cocktail in a can of beer......
  8. Hmmm i think in order it should be, Start with the TIE Interceptor and the Scimiter. Then research the TIE Advanced or Vigilance or whatever you want as your space superiority starfighter to replace the Interceptor. The TIE Defender fits relly nicely as an upgrade to replace the Scimiter. It packs a heck of a punch, but also has the speed and maneuverability of a fighter. It makes a brilliant substitue bomber in situations where there are still a lot of hostiles around. In many senses the TIE Defender's speed is only useful on bombing runs anyway, as to engage a fighter it needs to be able to slow, right down and match speed, the about the game TIE Fighter, you were permanently at half thrust so as not to overshoot. IMHO.
  9. By the way, the TIE Defender was developed just before or after the battle of Yavin, as Thrawn wasn't yet an Admiral when it was developed, and he was promoted during Zaarins treachery which was approx 1 year after the Battle of Yavin. So the TIE Defendeer's been around for a while. That's just a pointer, personally i think we shopuld have the A B E and XA4 wings, plus TIE Interceptor, Tie Scimiter, Tie Advanced, Tie Defender.
  10. OOC: No worries SWARMER, finding the facts is what the Imps need you to do. By the way, obviously there's no way we can hide the fact that the Rebels are going into overdrive on starship production, although you will be able to find the bulk of the details, there will be several 'projects' for which all you can find is anomalous funding but no details. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IC: Elvis walked into the briefing room. Elvis: "Okay, i have to keep this short, i'm rather pressed for time. We've received an alert from Krall, they've picked up something on their longrange scanners that you're going to check out. Cloaked A-wings all the way gentlemen, we don't want anyone to know you were ever there if it turns out to be a false alarm. Questions?" There were none, the Jedi knew exactly what he wanted, telepathy is a usefull thing Elvis pondered. Elvis: "Alright then, get to your ships. We'll be in constant touch, though i have to make some calls i'll be on a remote. We'll be relocating our fleet and spreading it out. You will meet me at Clack'Dor IV." Elvis sped out of the briefing room straight to the comms suite to brief the tech crews. Elvis: "I want channels to every single world kept open at all times. I want to know as soon as any of them go down." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Trejiuvanat, on this mission you're going to discover the hulk of a smallish Vong corvette. You will have to make a call back to Elvis detailing it, and he'll be providing a hastily, but effectively cloaked transport to tow it back to the fleet where convenient research will be done....
  11. Nice pics. Jahled, are you okay, Jahled...... Jahled, grudamnit man answer me.......... no...... no..... it can't end like this.....NNNNNOOOOOooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!
  12. Nice idea, um, i don't know of any models, as our model makers are busy guys with work and exams, we don't have that many SW models yet. I thought i'd seen some Babylon 5 cards floating around. Try using the saearch function in our cards section, if not they're not that hard to make. I assume you have RebEd?
  13. Oh dear, both to you SS and to the guys on that site.
  14. And the dry ice from the carbon freezing pit!
  15. And he got away with being seriously rude to him....
  16. Sounds dangerously familiar doesn't it. It's all about free choice. Personally, i think that democracy is flawed, due to the nature of people, we always put number one first. In which case i am most inclined to say that in a perfect world we would be Communists. Due to it's very nature Democracy doesn't quite work. I read a interesting Guardian piece that explains how essentially Bush is a democrat at home, but is in danger of becoming a real dictator on the international scene.
  17. And what do the other countries think about this? Has Blair backed them on this point? Shouldn't it be someone from the UN who acts as the governer, and for a short term period after which an election will be held. The Iraqi's deserve self-determination just like any other country in the world don't they?
  18. I quite like the Star Wars pants and the song lyrics, some of the pics are pretty good too.
  19. Jabba has, um, er, interesting taste in music....
  20. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the galaxy...... Elvis pondered for a time and then went to the Jedi. Elvis: "As you can see gentlemen we've had simulators installed for your benefit. Obviously you have your choice of craft, but i would recommend that you go with the A-wing for the time being, it the mosty similar starfighter we have to your old ones, Delta Sevens weren't they? I'd also advise that you train on the X and E wing simulators. Iulan, you should be able to help put them through their paces." Iulor: "It will also serve as a good start to Iulan's training, which Elegae A'Kli will handle." Iulor indicated the Camaasi Jedi in the group, a tall rangy figure, whom Luke had assured him would make an excellent tutor for Iulan. Elegae: "Indeed good sirs, it will be an honour to aid my friend's son in discovering the ways of the Jedi." Elvis: "I'm afraid i must leave you now to make further preperations." Elvis strode from the room as the Jedi climbed into their new simulators. He wondered how surprised Iulan was going to be when he discovered just how good this bunch of geriatric Jedi were. Elvis reached the primary bridge deep within the ship. Elvis: "Order the Mon Mothma and the Reliance to accompany us, along with their escorts, we leave for our destination in three hours." Two Mc80a's swung out, along with several corellian gunbships and carriers. A small but lethal fleet. Elvis then left the bridge and proceeded to the comms suite. Elvis: "Get me the commanders of all our shipyards" A multitude of holograms swirled into being. Elvis addressed them all. Elvis: "Okay, due to classified orders i'm stepping you up to full capacity, we've avoided this in our war until now so as not to exhaust our workforces, but now it's imperative that we gain as many capital ships as we can. A storm is coming people, and you're the only ones that can help us weather it. Starfighter production is to move into phase two of the Ewing production, i want every manufacturing plant moved over to the Ewing model 3 by the end of the weeker, sooner wherever possible. Gentlemen, i realise that you have questions, please, take it on faith when i tell you that your success will asve the Rebellion and probably the glaxy, in the coming months it will become apparent why, and you will receive your recognition. That is all." Elvis left the comms suite annd headed back to the Jedi's quaters to see how they were coming along....... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: This is fun! I like being two people, one of whom appears to be entirely rational and sensible and the other is rrational evil and does strange things to his body to please Gods that don't exist!!!
  21. Supreme Overlord Shimraa embraced the pain, let it flow over him, through him, piercing his very core. The Most High Priest stood by, uttering language long forgotton by all but a few, but the words barely pierced his conscience. The Master Shaper was pulling and tugging at his arm. So far the operation had taken two hours. No one had survived this long, not even his father had managed this without passing out. The Radank claws were being grafted to his ribs. A second pair of arms, as lethal as the first, blood red in colour, serated and highly poisonous. Shimraa had himself helped engineer an implant to his kidnys that would immunise him. One scratch from these arms would kill a Vong warrior in his prime in just under as minute, combined with the lethality of his twin amphipikes Shimraa would be virtually invincible. Half an hour later the process was done. A new legend had been created. No one had ever undergone a shaping like this without passing out from the pain. For now Shimraa would rest, regain the use of his arms, and learn to use his new ones. Reports flowed in from one way villips. His servants could not see him, but he could see them, their reports were all positive. Glowbugs floated through the air, showing the positions of all his worldships, and all the forces the Gods had put in his charge. This galaxy would not have a chance. His new arms were a sign, the grafting had been succesful, the Gods favoured him....
  22. Hmmm, should i be a fictional character, or can i be Supreme Overlord Shimraa?!
  23. There aren't very many, certainly not official ones. There are some dotted around sites. Theres a nice Vong skin for JKII
  24. Was i in it?!? Yeah we could all put our pictures in couldn't we.........
  25. It's okay Jahled, you'll be fine, focus on the force, feel the peace, relax.
