Elvis: "Okay Shadows, lets use Iulan's tactic, pair off and then link up with pairs or flights from emerald squadron. Link your data feeds and targeting, the Imps will be too busy dodging the ships they CAN see to realise that they aren''t the ones targeting them." The Imperials never cottoned on to what was happening, the fighter were dispatched with a speed and effiency that would have made the legendary Rogue Squadron proud. Elvis: "We're not clear yet, we have to get that Interdictor to shut her shields down." Iulan: "Sir, work the targeting the other way round. Slave your missiles to ours. Then it'll look like we're using some sort of advanced torpedo, they'll never know you were here sir. Just a suggestion of course...." Elvis: "No, run with that, but slave all the fighters together, i want all the missiles to impact at the same moment, not even an ISD II could handle that, let alone an Interdictor, even if she is enhanced. Iulan, myself and Shadows Two and Three will target a gravwell generator each, fire on my second mark. Dammit, this had better work, or we're all toast. Okay, three... two.... one.... mark!" 72 Proton torpedoes lanced out towards the Interdictor, not all of them visible... Elvis: "Mark Two!" Another pair launched from Iulans Ewing, along with another three pairs that could not be seen. Elvis: "Crap! I forgot our missiles were cloaked! We'd better hope they look like secondaries. Two, three, use your after launch guidnace packages, get the closer to Iulans target, try to make them look like secondary explosions on each of the domes, and hope for the best." The first salvo of torpedoes impacted the Interdictor roughly halfway down the dorsal shield of the ship. A tremendous light show lit up space, some of the torpedoes made it through the shield and hit the hull, causing more explosions. The shields overloaded and promptly collapsed, redundant shielding systems kicked in almost immediately, but not before the second salvo had penetrated, the torpedoes were trapped inside the shields, when they impacted on the domes the explosion was contained, doing even more damage, and helping to conceal the fact that there had been more than one pair. This was more than the Interdictors powerplant could handle, Nevit had no choice other than to shut off his generators. Nevit: "Maintain all fire on that cruiser, she's going to get away, but i want her to limp out of this, not run!" Elvis: "Transmitting evac coordinates to all fighters, lets get back to the fleet, pronto. The Pride and her escort are jumping now, lets get the hell out of here." Within thirty seconds there were only Imperial ships left, along with debris. ........................................... The two capital ships dropped out of hyperspace right next to a huge Rebel fleet. Once safely back on board Elvis joined his pilots for a debriefing......
