They can't do that. A jedi's unique skills come from his or her training, and cloners can't copy memories. Plus, unless you're using a spaarti, cloning simply takes too long. I think cloning in star wars shouldn't go much farther than clone troopers.

Really, I think the best thing is to get started on some modding tutorial, learn how to mod and instead of creating a topic filled with many ideas that have a high probability of not being used, you should create a topic showing what you have done to your game, even if you won't release it (I have a topic regarding my personnal mini-mod, where I bother people and ask for help and say what I have done in it, even if no one cares)...  ;)

You will find that very funny... At least that's what I felt when I first coded something 'new' from my head...  :P

Speaking of things no one cares about....

 

The biggest achievement I've made in my personal mod is making my clone troopers, laat/i and acclamator(or venator) into a single buildable unit. In other words you build a company of phase 2 clones and they go into a space battle in an Venator and deploy on the ground out of an LAAT/i. It is the most realistic way I could think of to do clone troops.

 

If anyone is wondering how to do it, its simple. Add TRANPSORT to the behavior of your desired space ship (like an acclamator). Also add the LAAT_transport_landing line to the space craft.

 

Then enter the desired space ship into the tags in the LAAT/i.

 

Use the deploy troopers ability to put your clones on the ground and viola you have a unit that behaves realistically. Of course you'll have to balance the unit's cost, production time and pop value but this difference can give the unit more tactical intrigue if you do it right.

 

Oh yeah and just to make it slick I made the text and icons for the laat/i company the same as the clone trooper company. This way it appears as though you are purchasing and using the clone company and the LAAT/i is nicely embedded in the mix.

Flash Cloning would only be safe in an area that negates the force. Thats why Joruus C'baoth was mad. the force warps a clones mind when they are flash cloned. So you need a lot of Ysalamai.

Good points, you guys.  I will only post things from now on that have meaning to them.  I hope that is an improvement over what I usually post.  Anyway, I agree with Kodor.  Flash cloning just doesn't make sense, and midichlorians are an extremely stupid idea, don't make any sense, and, in turn, are EXTREMELY retarded.  I can't even think of why George Lucas (bless his mind) would come up with this idea and the word.  After all, a midichlorian sounds either like an animal, a mineral or a vehicle. Why do MOST people want to give CIS units to the ZC? Just because ZC has Droidekas MkII and Buzz Droids? Or do people mistake the spell of  C. I. S.  with  Z A N N  C O N S O R T I U M?! :P ¬¬'

 

The 'sky unit' is very easy to code... Just copy the Snowspeeder code and change somethings, like the model, scale, text entries, icon, health, sounds and obviously, the name of the unit.

Errr, no I'm not. AoSW doesn't allow content to be distributed to the community except in their mod. No exceptions. Though you might be able to work out getting the old TotJ Basilisk that AoSW planned on using before I started the new one.

When I transfer Lion's Epic mod files, it's just a modded Factions XML folder.  The other mod has modded Starbases, Landbases, Rebels Empire and other stuff except for a m,odded Factions XML folder.  By this, I mean that the 2nd mod doesn't have a modded Factions XML folder, but it has everything else modded.  The Lion's epic mod, again, only has a modded Factions XML folder.  So why don't they work together?  Is one only able to work if everything else is default or something like that?

What...? Now you were specific but not clear lol  :P

One mod has a modded Factions.xml FILE (not folder) and the other has a couple of modded XMLs but it doesn't have a modded Factions.xml, is this what you meant? If so, just add the modded Factions.xml to the other mod, and it will run with no problens...
