Jahled Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 I used to do Steelwire Mantis years ago. Problem was I was a pushbike courier at the time, so after ten hours of hacking all over London I wasn't really up to two hours punishment twice a week afterwards. When I involved onto petrol-assisted two wheeled transport, I kinda was at that stage where I couldn't really be bothered! Age, it would seem, can be the greatest enemy! http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

What, O Great Lord of Grubs and all Things Muttery, is Steelwire Mantis???
Jahled Posted May 25, 2003 Posted May 25, 2003 Steelwire is the defensive aspect, Mantis was the offensive aspect; two forms of Kung Fu! http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Bill Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Is there any question, the best Star Wars movie was The Empire Strikes Back. The mammoth ships flying all over the place, and Vader kicking the heck out of Luke Skywalker, and then telling him that he was his father, fantastic. The force is strong in my family. No, Luke, I am your father.

You are not a Luke Skywalker fan, I take it?

dude21 Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Well nice, but Luke is the very important main character and will win against the evil darth Vader "I am growing stronger with the Force"
Jahled Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 Was it southern or northern style? Haven't a clue! I only did it for a couple of months before my body said 'it's either the training or spending all day hacking around on your bike, not both!' http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif

Guest Scathane Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 Yeah! It seems that the practitioners of bouncing live according to the Bounceshido code... and they revere that ultimate force of stupidity and dorkiness, their God: .....Skippy! They have warriors called Kangurai and assassins called Skipja's... (for the Fausts among us (that's you, Trej!): what do the word assassin and the Dutch legislation with regard to certain substances have in common?)

Where it originates from is enough... Let me put it another way: the old form of the word assassin has generated a contemporary designation for something that's considered illegal in a lot of countries... Which word is that?

Trejiuvanat Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 I know now what you mean Scath. It's Haschisch. Or Haxix (as Dumas put it in his books) or just Hashish. The name originates from the hashish assasin sect, somewhere in the MidEast during the early years of the Islam... What did I win????
