Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.

I remember seeing the Stormtrooper hit his head, but not anything else. I should start paying more attention...

I wouldn't bother. How many of those were, as Evaders put it, nitpicking. Most were due to a limited budget during the original filming of the movies. If you focus on the little faults, you'll end up ruining parts of the movie - and that's really all movies.

My two cents

I actually rather enjoy the mistakes, though I don't enjoy knowing about them: discovering them is 75% of the fun! Besides, the Stormtrooper bonking his head is a classic! It's the reason Jango Fett bonked his head in Attack of the Clones (or is it the other way around? Since Jango is the template, then it must mean head-bonking is genetic! 8O )

I'll agree with you there SOCL. I was more aiming toward the people who must find every little mistake and pick apart a movie.

Some are just fun :) It's when you become obsessed with the mistakes and forget that it's a movie and not a blooper real

I'd never heard of that one. Granted, I never watched episode two more than twice, thus... Yeah.

According to Lucas it is most certainly the Falcon. It also shows up in some Star Trek movie right as a Borg Cube (?) is blowing up.

Very logical that somebody would use an ordinary freighter to visit the opera or the parlament. You can see people using the truck to go to the opera every day.

About the pic, I don´t believe that it´s the Falcon. I know these scenes very well and I rather believe that it´s a ship of the steamrunner-class which silhoutte looks a bit like the falcon when you lake a look at it in the right angle.

Who cares at all?!

According to Wookiepedia it is, and was added by one of the guys who helped with the making of A New Hope the Special Edition. *Shrugs*

  • 1 month later...
- Hayden Christensen replacing Sebastian Shaw as the spirit of Anakin Skywalker in ROTJ. That makes absolutely no sense at all. I can just imagine the spirits of Yoda and Kenobi saying "Hey! How come you get to be young again and we're old?"

I have to agree with you there. In fact Hayden Christensen bothered me just as much as Jar Jar. Vader was such a great character in the OT and to see him start off as a whiny b**ch was horrible.

The only thing that kept the PT at least somewhat interesting was Palpatine and the craziness that is Yoda's saber battles.

Palpi was indeed the most interesting character in the prequels. Ian McDiarmid did a really great job in bringing at least a bit of the old trilogie-feeling back.

What I absolutely dislike:

Allthough there was lots of money behind that project, they decided to be a bit lazy sometimes. It´s just a small scene, but after watching the movie several times, it starts to catch your eye. You can see that there are just two stormtrooper-models, which have been mirrored. I can´t see why it should have been that hard to create to other models which move in another way than the others do instead of doing the same thing simultaneously.

I also hate these poor animated droids. They look cheap, they move cheap and they weren´t important in any way. Why didn´t they decided to put a guy in a droids-costume?? But no, they just had to show up, how good they are in animating things and totally failed.

I can't believe it! You know, for as much as Lucas spotlights Industrial Light and Magic as being a great graphics company they really didn't do a good job with the realism of their computer animation. Heck, I just got done watching what little is done with the Fan-based Thrawn Trilogy and that already looks better than the pre Trilogy.

First off, Hayden Christensen appearing at the end as a jedi spirit was something i'm not to bothered about, it was in the prequel he was seduced to the dark side and ties up the original movies with the prequels to some respect given George Lucas suddenly decided all the movies were about Anakin Skywalker, and not his earlier vision of Luke, in Star Killer, or whatever it was. He's being making it up randomly since the inception of the prequels without the slightest regard to his commercial franchise. So it the ghost was a remembrance of when Anakin was 'pure' with the force, then cool with me. :)

And this entire Hayden Christensen crap business; would rather have had a famous actor like Tom i'm a twat Cruise? The entire point of the original movies was that GL went for unknowns; it's part of the fundamental essential ingredients of the Star Wars magic! Would Star Wars have been the movie with Dustin Hoffman as Obi-Wan, or a mumbling Marlon Brando as Tarkin? I speak as a Brit to some point here I guess, but would the original magic have worked with the 1975's A-set?

Hayden Christensen was cast to portray a vulnerable youth seduced to the dark side through emotional manipulation. All things considered, that's what I got wth the latter prequels. I usually cringe in real life whenever I encounter a teenager 'and how cool they obviously are' when to the rest of the adult world, we simply see someone being a prat; but that's how they behave at that age. We were all that age once! :)

Well put, Jahled! :) And I especially agree with this bit:

...given George Lucas suddenly decided all the movies were about Anakin Skywalker, and not his earlier vision of Luke, in Star Killer, or whatever it was. He's being making it up randomly since the inception of the prequels without the slightest regard to his commercial franchise.

I'm glad someone else notices that Lucas has been making it up as he goes along, and that he has changed his story on his idea for Star Wars more times than one can ever hope to document or count.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'd rather have unknowns chosen for the parts too but Hayden as Anakin bothers me just as much as if it were Tom Cruise. Heck I really didn't care for little Anakin in PM. Guess I just went in expecting too much like most people did when they heard that Lucas was going to redo the original trilogy.

On the topic of droids... why the hell are they always walking around doing nothing! Isn't that what humans are suppose to do... we built them to do the work for us!

Supposedly, Howard the Duck was going to be the original inspiration for Jar Jar but George decided he needed to dumb the plot down a bit further. Mittochlorians for the wtf on my life. Excommunicated from Jedi brotherhood I was.

Though I´m still a fan of the original trilogie, I don´t care that much if the whole saga now is about Anakin´s fate. Han and Luke still stay my heroes. ;)
