Recently I saw the 1990s remake of "Night of the Living Dead" by Tom Savini (Sexmachine, "From Dusk Till Dawn"). It was as disturbing as the original, but with a much different ending. Storyline was the same. People hiding in an abandonned house from masses of Zombies. Even the infected children was in it.

Tom Savini said that he wanted to give those Zombies a real cadaver-look. And he really did it very well. Some kind of make-up looks very real. I can remember a kind of gossip, where a guy, who wanted to play a Zombie, told that he´s got a glas-eye and he can put it in and out. So he became a one-eyed Zombie. I just can recommend that movie. But it´s kinda rare to find. It was the first time for me that I had the opportunity to watch it and that movie is from 1990! I guess that says all.

I own a copy of 1990's remake of Night of the Living Dead, and I love it too. I've got it along with Dawn of the Dead (original), Day of the Dead, and Land of the Dead.

There are some couple of other pics of that movie on my site.

I didn´t liked "Land of the Dead" very much. Zombies who are beginning to learn thinking again. Oh, common! I even didn´t liked the original "Day of the Dead" very much, because of this and the bad acting. :?

All in all a good movie, but I even wouldn´t call it a remake. Because the only thing which reminded of the original was that they were in a mall. And I also wasn´t that happy with those running Zombies. That was something which didn´t worked well just in "City of the Living Dead". Zombies have to walk slowly. Doesn´t make any sense if they were even running faster than living people.

They also ran in "Return of the Living Dead", but that was absolutely ok. Though the whole movie was just fun. :)

I perfectly agree with you! A zombie is not a sprinter! All they are are rotting corpses.

The dead, the dead, the dead....

I also have the Dawn of the Dead (remake), as well as The Return of the Living Dead (great 80's flick).

I didn't mind the remake, and it was neat to see all of the cameos made by the actors from the original. However, it was not in the same league as the original film. It was neat to see a different take on the zombies, but I prefer the ones that creep and stumble about.

I can tell you about a terrible zombie movie, and that is House of the Dead. It sucked beyond belief.

Has anyone seen Resident Evil: Extinction? What did you think and how did it rate against its predecessors?

The thing you have to remember when watching George A. Romero's films is that they're more than just zombie movies, he making a political statement in all of them. I can't do the concept justice, so just look around for interpretations and I think you'll get that plot twist a bit more.

History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.

I´m absolutely aware of that, Gat. But none the less I still prefer Zombies stumbling around instead of running. ;)

Oh yes, I can remember that movie. The only thing we thought was funny was the back of the alien´s head, which looks like a butt.

Could they make that alien any uglier??? I wonder...

How can you say such a thing LLF! It is obviously one of the worst movies of all time!!!

Exactly! Maybe it's even better than my all-time favourite: ROBOT MONSTER
