Sinister Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I saw Superbad and I have to say it was the funniest movie this year. I also saw Halloween and walked into it fearing it would be a gorefest like House of a 1000 Corpses. I walked out of Halloween surprisingly happy. I liked how it explored more of Myers' background and what made him into a monster. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. I also saw Halloween and walked into it fearing it would be a gorefest like House of a 1000 Corpses. I walked out of Halloween surprisingly happy. I liked how it explored more of Myers' background and what made him into a monster. I still say that the stuff with him as a kid is the only really scary stuff. It wound up being pretty much a gorefest in my opinion, anyway. It followed the basic horror movie outline: Psycho killer kills everyone that he can and then the virgin lives and kills him/her. Unless it's Stephen King. Then everybody is screwed in some way, shape, or form, and the people wind up killing each other. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Darth_Rob Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 I would really like to see Halloween. I gotta find out if my roommates saw it yet or not. Defender_16 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Hey, I was wondering, how many other people here have seen the movie 'Citizen X' ? "There are no serial killers in the Soviet Union."
Paul Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I knew about this case and would enjoy watching a fictional representation of it. I will have to try and get time to go, or else wait and buy the DVD when it comes out. - Grand Moff Conway
DarthTofu Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 It was released in 1995, Paul. You either won't have to wait for it to come out on DVD, or you'll have to settle for snagging it on VHS; those are likely your only two options. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Eagle Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Oh, I missed that movie, allthough it was shown several times on television here. Got to watch it the next time. But I can remember that case. They catched that guy shortly after the fall of the soviet-union. I can´t recall exactly how many people that guy murdered all through the years, but it was a number larger than 30. Who cares at all?!
Defender_16 Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Fifty two apparently. That's what it says on the imdb. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112681/
Darth_Rob Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 Apparently my roomies saw Halloween over the weekend when they went home. Sucks to be me. I'll have to wait for the DVD. Its just that the misses hates scary movies... Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
Mad78 Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 I believe it is impossible for Halloween to be gorier than Braindead though I will have to see it when I can. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
DarthTofu Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Halloween is gory, but likely not as gory as Braindead. Didn't they use something like 5,000 gallons of fake blood for that flick? Or am I thinking of Nightmare on Elm Street? Halloween's bloodiest scenes are probably (Oh, yeah, spoiler alert): Michael slicing his father's throat, stabbing his older sister, drowning the caretaker dude, stabbing the girl's black-haired friend whilst she's shirtless (how bad would it suck to be dying and have your father see you "exposed" like that?) and the very end, where he tries to kill his little sister. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
JediHunter Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I finally saw Superbad in theaters on Saturday... that movie is HILARIOUS!.. I couldnt help but laugh myself to tears at certain points of the movie... I recommend it to all... as long as you can stand vulgar comedy... "Duct tape is like the force. Sinister Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I recently saw 3:10 To Yuma, and I thought it was a good western. However, I thought the ending could have been better. It was good, but Unforgiven is better IMO. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. After all, it kills you." - Katharine Hepburn
JediHunter Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 One word: McLovin. I am so quoting various parts of that movie for the rest of my life... especially when my siginificant other suggests a back scratch! (i cant give away the punchline cuz its so funny that i dont want to ruin the hilarity).. "Duct tape is like the force. Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I don't often go to the moves, mostly because most of what comes out is absolute crap, but there is one movie I've been waiting for for a while, and they've finally released the teaser trailer. This is the Iron Man movie. I've been a fan of Iron Man since I was a kid, and despite the modernization of the story line, I'm glad to see that they seem to have mostly kept to the basic background. I watched Superbad recently. I don't know, I just don't see what everyone sees in that movie. It was funny, but I wasn't in danger of loosing my bowls in laughter. I guess I just don't get today's comedy any more. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Krytos Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I've found myself more and more disappointed with movies these days and less likely to bother seeing them at the cinemas. So many seem like nothing more than a teaser for what ILM can do, rather than a good movie. But, that's just me Iron man doesn't look to shabby. My favourite part of the entire trailer was the fact they used the original Black Sabbath song for the movie rather than some random re-hash http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
Darth_Rob Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 Yes, Iron Man does look quite nice. I am excited for it. I was on imdb awhile ago, and looking up all the Marvel superhero movies that were coming out. You can see it for yourself here. I was looking forward for the Doctor Strange movie that was due out this year, but I never heard anything more about it. Then, I saw this at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago. Apparently, Dr. Strange was made into an animated short film rather than live-action. I am a tad disappointed. But I see that the list on imdb has removed Captain America (which is sad), but added Thor (which is sweet). Ahhh...I love these comic book movies. Aside from the first Hulk and Daredevil, that is... Mad78 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I must say that Iron Man movie looks pretty good. And i agree, Hulk and Daredevil were hopeless! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Darth_Rob Posted September 12, 2007 Author Posted September 12, 2007 They are making "The Incredible Hulk". I think its sort of like Batman Begins, where it starts the story all over again, and disregards the previous film. Its a good idea. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Mad78 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Lets hope they TOTALLY disregard the previous film. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
