  3. I know in EAW, there are small platforms in some maps in space...maybe you guys could design something similar? Here is my suggestion: the player builds a platform at his shipyards and then hyperspaces it to a capture point (provided friendlies are near, or some condition that prevents the player from just hyperspacing stations all over the map). The platform then serves as a forward observation base, creating a large area of revealed space, like a probe, it creates a small RU injection (maybe 1000 every minute or something), has decent antifighter weaponry, poor capital/frigate firepower, but heavy shielding. This way, the AI may be more interested in capturing the station rather than blowing it up (and it gives some purpose to the Galofree tranport and Assault Shuttles ) The design of the platform could be the old Imperial Research facility that was in version .40. Maybe the Station could also be a production facility for fighters.

  6. Are there any plans to re-include the Star Wars time periods (ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Dark Empire and so on) with certain restrictions on shipbuilding? (for example, the player can't build the Alliegance-class Star Destroyer in the ANH time period, but can build it in Dark Empire) Did anyone else like the time periods in version .45?
  7. I read the thread about the new AI that is under development and I wondered whether it will be included into the next release? Also, is the main purpose for creating a new AI to fix the problems with the computer building ships at the facilities and to give the player a bit more challenge when going up against a CPU opponent?
  8. Ok, last question is now completely irrelavent...but I do have a new one: Why is the Venator included with the Empire and not Victory-class SDs? Weren't the Venators scrapped when the VSDs came into existence?
  9. Yeah, for some reason, everytime I did a Mon Cal v. ISD, it always took the Mon Cal a while before the ISDs health bar began to diminish. What's with that?
  10. Yeah, I recently played the .45 version again, and compared to the newer versions, and I have to say that I like the current version so much better, even though not all the ships are finished yet.
  11. yeah, whats with that? It looks like the MCs don't hit as hard as they usd to in the prior versions.

Clarification on Vong ship names: -the worldship with arms is reffered to as a Koros-strohna Worldship -the gunship should be reffered to as a Uumufalah Gunship -the frigate analogues are called Chuun M'arh Frigates -as for the Vong carrier, the clustership as you named it, the Vong term is A-Uek Iiluunu Fighter Carrier -Vong destroyer yards are called Sh'rip Sh'pa Spawnship -Battleships: There are 2 kinds Uro-Ik Glu'ta, which is the equivalent of an Imperator I Star Destroyer Uro-Ik V'alh, which is the equivalent to an Imperator II Star Destroyer -Transport analogues are called Yorik-trema Transports -As for the Kor Chokk, I guess we could use the name for the red pearly cruiser, but I don't think it is. There was no real definite shpe for them, since they grew after each battle, and dying ships would latch onto it, creating a huge ship with no real design. The Vong did not have probes, to my knowledge, but they did have something called a Yorik-Stronha Spy Ship, which was pretty fast and had a cloaking device, but had no weapons though.

Unless the Kor Chokk starts off at about half health (due to the damage caused at the Battle of Borosk), maybe it would be better to just replace it with a Miid ro'ik cruiser. 20 Coralskippers Grutchins (any intention of including those?)
  18. So I played the Endor scenario, and it looks great, but I don't think theres any way possible way to win . The Death Star II looks amazing, by the way.
  19. Just a question about the Ecclipse-class. How would we fire the giant laser in the game? Will it be a special key, or will it be part of the Special Commands menu on the ship movement bar?
  20. Some kind of gutteral voice...Zerg seems too...insect Regarding Skip production, all Vong ships are grown, so some kind of growing facility would be best. I've read the NJO books, and the Skips were usually grown planetside. So I guess it's up to you, EJ. As far as the ships go, seems pretty good to me. Regarding ship deaths, I don't think blood would be accurate (cool nonetheless). Most description of Vong ship deaths was of chunks of coral being superheated by turbolasers. Fireball explosions wouldn't work, but the smaller, isolated explosions i think would be fine. The kind of explosions that some CIS ships have, where they blow up and chucks of metal just fly off everywhere. And also, I think you're missing the Vong SSD analogue, called the Kor Chokk (heres a picture http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/3/37/KorChokk.jpg)

  22. I went to the image gallery to see some of the ships in development, and I saw you had the Bothan Assault Cruiser. Will it be included into the next release, or are you still working on it?
