YES! I am a field commander! no longer shall I be a bullet magnet! or lasers, in this case

Merry Christmas everyone

Personally, I am little tired of harvesting RUs. I think the new "territories" feature would be awesome and I definitely would prefer this over RUs. Tell me if I got this right: You start out in a given map with a fleet, and you have to capture certain territories within this map to gain Credits, along with shipyards lying around in order to build up your fleet?

Thanks for the clarification, EJ I don't think the buoys were built by the AI; I think the computer just starts with them, for some odd reason.

I was playing 0.60 the other day, and I noticed a few things: -The alliance ISDs seem to fire green lasers, instead of red. I don't know if that was deliberate, but I just thought I'd point it out. -When having Capital ship battles, more often than not, a ship is disabled (the blue bar under the health bar goes down completely) before half its health goes down. I don't know about everyone else out there, but it is kind of annoying when you're trying to have a massive engagement and half the ships just sit there, taking damage without responding. -(More of a question than comment) I played in the Post ROTJ timeline, and the alliance was able to build ISDs. I thought the New Republic didn't really start using ISDs until around the NJO timeline. -When playing facilities, the computer has Nav Buoys that it uses to bring in reinforcements. Kind of ruins the whole point of facilities... -(also more of a question than comment) When playing in Post ROTJ timeline, I was able to to build TIE Defenders and Avengers. Did those come into service around that time?

Correct me if I am wrong, but KDY was an entire ring, encircling the entire planet. Since the Empire also employed slaves, it seems possible to me that they be able to churn out ISDs (although thousands per year seems a little farfetched). As to the SSDs, I think that there were a limited supply for two main reasons: 1) the enormous amount of credits and manpower (250,000 for the crew according to Captain Pellaeon in Heir to the Empire) and 2) Because the Emperor liked to control the Fleet and Army himself. Having 20 or 30 SSDs running around the galaxy would probably encourage more than one fleet officer to try and gang up to take the throne.

Finally got .60 version working...facilities mode works, but the AI seems to have a Reinforcement buoy which it uses to create ships instead of using the facilities. Also, while playing as the Alliance, I noticed several mistakes in the ships: when created, the Defender Destroyer is in fact a Nebula destroyer. When creating a Nebula destroyer, it appears as a Rejuvenator. The Rejuvenator destroyer is not listed. Also, there does not seem to be any difference in appearence between the Endurance Fleet Carrier and the Nebula Destroyer. I played a little with the Vong, and the ships look fantastic, but for some reason they move in wide arcs (mostly the Miid-Roik cruiser) as if the captain had a few drinks lol. I also want to know why Vong ships have a blue bar under the health bar (the blue bar is to show the effects of the enemy's ion cannons). Since they are made of coral, you would think that Ion cannon shots would be meaningless. Reffering to the timelines, you would think the Empire would not possess any Correlian ships after ROTJ, but they still do (the Alliance liberated Correllia and its shipyard facilities sometime after ROTJ and prior to Dark Empire) I don't know if the ships were meant to stay there simply for selections purposes, but I just thought I'd bring it up. The Alliance can create Imperator I Star Destroyers, but I seem to remember that the laser shots it uses were Red in version .45, and now they are back to green.

My game crashes at "Universe" everytime I try to play. Warlords loads fine up until then...the menues are updated, with the new scenarios, Build Restrictions, etc., but for some reason, it crashes at "UNiverse" when I launch a game. my command line is as follows: "C:\Program Files\Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -mod PLANETPACK.Big,SWSOUND.Big,SWMUSIC.Big,GENHODS.Big,SHIPHODS.Big,CORE.Big,OLDSHIPS.Big -luatrace -hardwareCursor I have created a new profile and deleted the old warlords .45 and CLONEWARS .91 .Big files from the data folder. Anyone know what I should do?

Yeah, that is too bad about the Warlords Mod...I wonder if EJ will have at least one more release before going on his 4 month hiatus... On another note, I have some questions regarding this EvR game: -From what I gather, it will include a campaign map, similar to the one you posted in a different EvR thread. Here is where I am a little confused: will it resemble EaW, where the player creates fleets and sends them to conquer planets, and when you enounter an enemy, you engage him into space in order to gain control? -I think you wrote that we need to go to swrebellion website to download the game, but where to from the swrebellion homepage? (Or is the game still in the development stage?) -I'm not sure I understand how the game will actually work: Say I create an account, and I pick the Rebellion as my faction. When I start playing, a map will come up (correct me if I am wrong), and I basically need to create my fleet and army from scratch. Does that mean that when I am ready to attack, I will be able to engage other players that are logged on? For example, let's pretend you, Darth Malice, have a fleet of Imperial ships and I, as the Rebels, decide to attack your fleet, then you and I will be playing a space battle against each other, as in a homeworld2 multiplayer game? -Do I need to sign up anywhere if I want to play this game?
-
This game sounds really interesting...will it be in the form of an online account, where you sign in and play?
-
I would help too, but I know nothing of modding :-[. Just want to give my support and thanks to everyone who is volunteering to help EJ on this.

random suggestions that will never probably get implemented

Hey EJ, do you have any plans in including shipyard facilities with the coresponding planets? Here is what I mean: In EaW, whenever the player fought space battles at Kuat, Mon Cal or Fondor, there was always large shipbuilding structures. I thought it was pretty original. Any plans on creating something similar with the Warlords maps? -
EJ, will you be releasing more maps for the mod, or are you pretty much done with that?
-
While playing some Scenarios, I noticed one was off: XW/YW vs. I-VD (I'm assuming this mean X-Wing and Y-Wing versus Imperial Victory-class Star Destroyer). Well I played it, and it's actually an Assault Frigate, Bulk Cruiser, 2 squadrons of B-Wings and 6 squadrons of Y-Wings versus an Imperial Imperator I-class Star Destroyer and 4 squadrons of TIE fighters. Not complaining, but just pointing it out.

Well, the Star Wars Warlords mod is for Homeworld 2, but the movie that you saw is the mod, not Homeworld 2.
