well, im about a half way between point now...I support *some* conversions, like every so often I convert a unit or two for public use. I dont like these massive warlords conversions..... and if anyones realized, there is a lot of model requests, too many...

most people dont care about the mods, AGD is a perfect example, it only got all that popularity since it just had a ton of new units, thats all they want, new units, they dont care about quality or anything, as long as its new and works it, they'll take it...I actually read that once of the FileFront forums, kinda sad.... which is one of the reasons I stopped EaW Enhanced.

Ive been asked something along the lines of that before since I have max. I can only convert models, just cause I have max does not been I have the capablity to do some high poly modelling. I said high poly cause of course anyone could create simple shapes and move them into spots to make them look like something... rigging is ALOT different then modelling, it takes waaaaay longer and takes alot more patience then rigging...and more skill...

actually that was an SPHAT turbolaser firing from the underside hanger bay that Anakin suggested some of the Venators have installed. EaW can handle nothing from foc.....if you copy code inot and eaw xml and try to play the game, eaw is not familiar to those lines of it and will probably exception.

I was just saying since there was a huge argument on FF about those, Keeper Of Faith never came and said anything about them though, he just.......dissappeared...and comparison tests were done on the skins and they turned out exactly the same, down to the last detail....... @LotS its bad because porting is illegal....... but I guess we will never be sure until Mike finishes the Alo importer for max....

sadly it appears those arent normal projectiles....only for the ability not for a hardpoint. :'(

not all the time.....the turbolasers, ion cannons, and proton torpedoes use no model.

im not stupid and dont call me stupid, im just saying why should half the community only do things for the public, while the other half just sits back and uses what other people did? It shouldnt matter if you cant rig model or do anything complicated, but if you can do something, then you should help people who cant. I didnt say I wanted things in return for doing things for the public, I said that everyone should do something for the people then, whatever they may be capable of, no matter how important it may be. Like for the A Galaxy Divided V3 Patch, they needed icons, the person making the icons just up and left, they had a setback, I told them Id make the icons, I just needed to know what units. Did I ever ask them for anything in return? No. I did that as an act of kindness because they needed help. You know what? fine call me stupid and say I post stupid things. woop-dee doo! I think I shall go sit in the corner and cry my eyes out now. You have opinions, so do I, calling me stupid wont change anything I think or say. :-*

but still, some people who are out of school have more important things to buy then a pc part....bills, car, gas, food, the essentials, not something you want to play a pc game.... but I just have to ask, I know Jedi_Consulor (like when he donated code for KOF's conversions) and Monkeybiz would probably give code but, some who want people to convert or model things for public use, what would YOU do for the public then? cause its a bit ironic that someone wants people to donate things to the people, yet, they dont contribute anything themselves? EX-like calling someone selfish, but youve never given anything either.. (not pointing fingers, just saying in general...)

well that was a bit stupid, maybe people dont have the money to upgrade their pcs right now? :

people are making them, Dark Empire already has one, and I think LoW and UEAW are all doing fully functional Eclipses too..

well I think we are past the credit thing but if you look at EaW files there is a PoTD, its the Dark Empire SPG Eclipse. Someone who I am going to keep unknown said "The Eclipse in A Galaxy Divided was better." This person did not even realize that both Eclipses were done by DE SPG, not one by each DE and AGD.... point taken? : I do think its a good idea to make a place where people can share and interchange coding and other things for public free release usage. Not where you have to share things, but where you can if you want. I do believe mod teams could be alittle active in it too. Like if they have a unit modelled and all that stuff, but they decided to scrap it, give it to the public, dont just toss it out the window.

I actually like the idea of seperate unit files, if theres an exception with a ceratain unit, you dont have to search through different files to find it when it has its own...
