  1. I think palpy's the "only answer" in the original game. Using bounty hunters to kill defilers will only work if the defilers aren't dispatched right away. Killing the required enemy hero might prevent some forms of corruption though.

And customize. I know that's not a very good screenshot but it gets the job done. StarViper Elite. Re-rigged with custom muzzle flash (credits to Codeuser), and 6 extra fire points (2x torpedo, 4x ion cannon) and animated with Open/Close (not too well done). Now the complete equivalent of a B-Wing. (Closes S-Foils) Strangely, it wasn't that difficult.

  4. Naw, I forgot what it is, but it is in EaW, not FoC. The megaweapon would have been too large.

And about that ion rocket, lol funny thing ist hat I found a particle in the normal game that looked like that already for the most part and just tweaked it (lengthened the trail).

Surviving this wouldn't be a good thing. You get control of the survivors of the initial blast. (which should be pretty dead, only the HAP, AT-AT, and UT-AT tend to survive the blast with decent health) It kills the user though, so be careful.

I even managed to screw up billboarding (wtf moment)

  9. AnimationSFXMaps.txt would be my guess. It links animations to sounds, with a time counter as to when to emit what sound.
  10. When you joined the mod, you agreed that everything you submit to the mod is property of the mod and is not to be redistributed without the leader's permission. So its like giving something to a museum and agreeing that the museum can keep it forever - and then going back in and taking it. Eagle would be the museum owner - even if the museum were to close down, its still their property unless they decide to give it to you, unless the terms were that you get it back when the museum closes, which isn't the case. I'm sure MSEagle has a valid reason not to free-release the content... And do note that more than one person worked on a specific piece - some drew the concept art, some made the model, some made the skin. And they ALL agreed to that clause. Noone is saying modders are nobility, but the truth is, there ARE moochers and scum. Not everyone, but they exist. *cough, Drk, cough* If you want something, suck it up and ask for permission in person - don't expect a free release of everything. The thing is, people are BEGGING for free-release models: just look at the Free-Model release thread. If you ask, you have a chance of getting permission to use it, but lazy bastards and moochers would rather beg for free-release instead of asking in person and doing a few favors. I cannot say how much I utterly loathe and despise those who can do nothing but ask for people to help and claim work as their own. --- We're getting off topic here...so... AoSW isn't quite dead yet, so lets deal with this problem later.

  12. It not about legality. Heck if you talk about that, porting is illegal you know... This is about respecting other people's decisions to keep their work for themselves. Look, If I made a clay model in real life, then glazed it and used it as a display, you wouldn't go take it from my house to "use" for your own purposes, regardless if I'm part of the clay modeling community or not! Second of all, its amoral - if you just blatantly use other people's work without their permission, noone will want to make anything anymore since it'll just get stolen.
  13. This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but... Yea, if a mod team doesn't specify, you should assume "no". After all, they made the models, the skin, the animations - its all personal work, if you're just going to take it its just wrong. Especially the intellectual concepts - stealing someone else creativity for yourself, is just wrong. At least ask before assuming...
  14. Its probably that - a corrupted registry. So, since you have two harddrives, format the one with EaW/FoC on it after backing everything you need up.
  15. And why would there be a problem with a mod being for two games? It won't hurt anything... Strange thinking indeed. And if its being carried out by team mebers that can't even shift to WiC, then its not really losing any working force, is it?

  17. Even if AoSW moves, hopefully a splinter faction can stay and make a Eaw/FoC version. I mean, the two games play completely differently...right?
  18. then maybe you should backup everything from gamemaker, then reinstall... gee, you make it sound so difficult, if you have 2 hard disks its hardly a problem - you can even format one and keep what you want on the other!
  19. The its GM...lol. If reinstalling FoC didn't fix it, its not a FoC problem... Or try defragging, but not sure how much good that will do.
