I don't think Leadership is the sole factor in successful recruitment. It's only a small factor. I've found that most of the time it is very random. I've had equal success and failure in recruitment from all characters from game to game. I've also found that any time there is a "100%" chance of anything in Rebellion, it will sometimes fail. I don't know if that is a randomization thing or what, but there's always a chance of failure.

I watched most of it...except for a few minutes when the baby was a bit unhappy . I thought he did very well. He has made the case for war with Iraq in my eyes, though I suppose some would like Iraq to detonate a nuclear warhead before they decide Iraq needs to be disarmed... I also thought his AIDS policy was a good idea, although money won't stop the problem. Education is the key in Africa. Hydrogen powered cars...a great idea, but Detroit will fight that tooth and nail (as will OPEC and all other oil producers). Missile defense: why the hell is anybody against this??? Tax cuts: why the hell is anybody against this, either???? All-in-all, a very good speech.

The space travel idea has been discussed, and most everyone agreed it was a good idea. The management idea was discussed a little, but the idea of foiling governor's campaigns is a new idea...I like it! I've often wondered why characters don't have more options than the few they have. Good ideas!

I agree. I think the manual said they combine their stats when you pool all your researchers. Of course, if that's true, why doesn't the stupid AI combine them? Anyway, I always combine my researchers, just to be on the safe side.

A very good point, Tsunami... I agree with the tidal wave, we should go with X-Wings, E-Wings, A-Wings, and B-Wings. This would also be the easiest, as only one fighter needs to be changed! But I also like the pink hippos...hmmm

Yes, how many times have I seen the AI-guided Rebs send a fleet of Medium Transports and one Corvette to a system, only to be crushed by the might of the superior Imperial Navy.... If the AI would only add a few fishboats and frigates to the mix, a decent battle would ensue, even if they would still succumb to the intense firepower of Imperial Star Destoyers. But alas, the Imperial Navy must hunt down the pitiful ragtag Rebel fleet one or two ships at a time.

All I can tell you is a game is currently being created by JediGreg. He is the programmer and creator of the game that will eventually become a "Rebellion 2", though it's technically not a sequel.
