  1. Well, the brain is nowadays very much seen as the prime location of the personality. So eating the brain is symbolic for eating, i.e. destroying, taking over etc., your 'you', so to speak. In older cultures, the heart was seen as the location of the soul - and so it was the target of symbolic actions like rippin' it out and even eating it.
  2. Update on the main subject: We are not a bunch of complete idiots after all The highest German court will now review that dicision we've been talking about at the beginning of this discussion - and hopes are it will be skipped so from then on you can display ANTI-Nazi-symbols without the fear of being punished
  3. Damn, you're right! Sorry for that to both of you - Jahled and CMB
  4. So it's once again time for my all time favorite quote from Montgomery C. Burns: "Excellent!" Thanks a lot!
  5. Maybe you guys can help me: I need a quote from Harrsion Ford talking to George Lucas after having read the New Hope script. I remember vaquely that he is said to have told Lucas: "George, no-one talks like that." - and altered some of his lines I am looking for that story and maybe a link to it. Anyone?
  6. As to the keyboard shortcuts: The CD (at least my German edition) contains the readme.txt-file which gives you all the shortcuts
  7. I sometimes try this line: "That Jesus-dude? Hasn't he got his own tv show in South Park?!" Unfortunately, so far no-one got the joke...
  8. Yeah - and they have to thank *me*, at least partly: When these guys catch me in the right mood I invite them into our house to debate evolution and such things for *hours*. Of course, this keeps them from getting far, so Canada is out of reach
  9. Cool. I didn't know this one I'll try that asap - even though I am a little sad about having to abandon my *ingenious* own idea
  10. @ Eagle: They don't know that one obviously. Lucky Gringos
  11. What the f...!?! I've spent hours to find freeware to simulate the cd-drive and make an iso of the cd ... and now you come and tell me that wasn't necessary in the first place... However, could you describe that *in detail* for a dummy like me, please?! What do I have to copy where *exactly*?
  12. Hmm, d'you think we could recruit them for the Empire?
  13. Hey guys, in addition: What about Los Alamos and ... Area 51 (believe it or not, it was the 'little woman' who came up with this last one)? Is any of these worth travelling there? Especially with Area 51 I strongly doubt that there will be anything to see...
  14. This is just to say thanks to everybody - especially DarthTex
  15. ok, more details: We are going from Austin to Las Vegas. What's the best trip in respect to sight-seeing and the like?
  16. My 'girlfriend' (who is probably reading this right *now* and wants everybody to know that she is my fiancee (had to look that word up) is a member of the German equivalent and already is checking the options - as I said not only is she very good-looking and rather clever - but also reading this *right now*... Just got the feedback that, yes, we benefit from the AAA. Any specific tips?
  17. @ Eagle: Yeah, you're probably right. But after all I read here that shouldn't matter anymore... @ DarthTex: Hey, there you are! I would have tried to contact you via pm but have been quite busy today. I let the 'little woman' do all the planning, she's rather good at that. So far we've been to California and Florida (not in one trip though and she did a marvelous job of taking us to interesting places. As far as I understand it, we are going to fly to (probably) Dallas or Austin (where she's got a friend) and then work our way towards the Grand Canyon. Is this enough info for you to tell me more? General timeframe is this summer, likely in July. I expect warm if not hot weather. Rightly so?
  18. Actually, Roswell was quite high on our list... Is it *that* bad?
  19. Well, no problem. It's just that my girlfriend asked me to come up with something - even though she loves to do all the planning herself and mostly ignore my suggestions Women... However, thanks, Eagle, always good to read from you
  20. Thanks, Eagle! But maybe I got a little carried away The really pressing issue now is Texas and all I came up with so far is Barring's Crater - because the pictures look a lot like what the Falcon hid inside in ESB
  21. How exactly do I find him? I'm not so sure about any search-function here on SWR... Btw, my girlfriend's got some friends in Switzerland, too. So maybe you have some suggestions for a trip there?
  22. My girlfriend is planning a trip to Texas. Of course we are going to see all kind of tourist's stuff - but is there any must-see from the point of view of someone living there (or near to it)? I'm thankful for any suggestion!
  23. Thanks for that advice. I am quite aware of the Seat of Power - I almost never move Palpatine from C. therefore unless necessary. I always used to think that uprising are a kind of 'negative diplomacy', so I sent diplomats to do it - which worked well. Your opinion on that?
  24. Is the second mentioned character acting as a decoy or are they both send on the 'regular' mission? And does anyone know which imperial characters are most succesful in creating uprisings?
  25. Thanks a lot! By coincidence I just did that... And I will stick to it
