I don't think any movie even ones that claim to be true stories are accurate. Thank you DarthTex and SOCL for giving me another optionas I think 300 will probably be too graphic for me and the missus too!

I think it looks interesting though I get the feeling I won't get the chance to see it untill it comes out on DVD

The concept of the UN worked 50 years ago when it was just starting up, but those concepts have changed. Since the values, needs and problems have changed what the UN needs to do is to change it's values and it needs to change how it works. If Star wars has taught us anything it's that senates/governing bodies when they encompass hundreds of different values and points of views and they try to sit down and debate how to resolve a situation just doesn't work cause there are too many voices, too many opinions and too many surgestions. In the end all that happens is talk or argue. The UN needs to turn away from trying to be a 'world governing body'.

Attention US/World Populace: Prepare To Run For Your Lives
turtle replied to Darth_Rob's topic in Outside Interests
I don't want the US to be the 'world police' in that I don't want the US to decide which countries are 'bad' and decide to do something about it by force. I don't want the US to preach to other countries about racism or something like that or how it should govern it's people. I DO want the US to lead by example when it comes to the environment. I want the US to say to the UN and to other industrialised nations something along the lines of "OK global warming is being caused by industry. We need to clamp down big time on emisions. We need to set stricter guidelines for cars, trucks, lorries, aircraft. We need to move away from oil, coal, and gas right NOW. The polar ice caps melting is the fault of HUMANS. Something needs to be done NOW so that in 25 years there is still something left of Earth as we know it at this precise second." You know I read somewhere that 50 or 60 years time half of the UK will be UNDERWATER at the current rate of global warming.....and that was about 10 years ago!!!! -
Being that I work at Wallyworld I didn't have the money!!!

Attention US/World Populace: Prepare To Run For Your Lives
turtle replied to Darth_Rob's topic in Outside Interests
As someone outside of america I don't care who gets presidency. I just ask that they straighten out America's problems, their involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan befpre even thinking about looking at another countries problems. The USA is not the world police. They should not decide that other countries need their help unless another country asks for it! I don't know any country that doesn't have a problem. I don't think any country ever will be one that doesn't have a problem somewhere and that America is as far as it can be from being the country with the most problems but still, they shouldn't help another unless asked. I do know that the environment and the weather worldwide is changing, it's getting a little more unpredictable and much more destructive at it's worst. Someone needs to do something and the USA with being one of the most powerful countries, one of the most industrialised countries I think whomever becomes the new president should force the UN and all other countries to make a serious attempt at looking into it's environmental policies with the same insistance and determination as it is in waging war on terror and getting in getting Iran and North Korea to give up it's nuclear power It should also be the first to initiate some tough laws against the companies that cause environmentally damaging emissions of pollution. As well as tax breaks for companies that recycle and use clean energy sources such as wind, solar or geothermal energy. I know that won't happen, but thats my 2 cents worth (cdn! sorry I can't afford anything else!!!) -
Don't think I'll be getting one untill they almost obsolete or where I work accidentally prices one at $24.99!

Gee thanks Tofu! Now I feel stupid and old!

By the former doctor Chris Ecclestone, I meant the former 'Doctor Who' Chris Ecclestone. From what I've read 'Torchwood' is an offshoot series of 'Doctor Who'. It is about a team of 5 who use alien technology to solve crimes and mysteries. The team is lead by Captain Jack Sparrow (from 'season 1 of Doctor who') Torchwood is also an anagram of doctor who.

heroes rocks for sure! I don't think Torchwood has started in the states and Canada yet. I wouldn't mind having the regenerative power for obvious reasons. Maybe the flying power so I could see my family (who live in London England.) Stopping time might be useful but too tempting to use for the wrong reasons for me! having the ability to pass through solid matter might be cool too. having a timid side and a psycho side wouldn't be my kind of thing. next week the former Doctor Christopher Eccleston makes his debut as a 'hero' with powers 'never seen before' and is 'dangerous'. I like hiro's friend! he might not have any powers but the interaction between hiro and him is funny!

Though the blog in question is undeniably one sided as Hunter points out, it does put forward an interesting arguement and one that with the exception of all the presumptions made is well put.....if it's something you agree with. Mitth you point out that Vader kills Captain Antilles but going by the way the author of this blog thinks (and presumes) it could be argued that he could have been unconscious and that he was on a ship that was deemed to be carrying out an act of treason. While I'm not argeeing to what was written in this blog. The arguement being as one sided means the logic shown is seriously flawed. If your only looking at one side of the 'story' even the worst dictators like Hilter can be shown in a good light. From what I was taught at school he lead German out of a recession, brought employment rates up, homelessness down and had Volkswagom Beatle created cause he believed that all Germans had a right to cheap transportation.

Parties? what are they? Hang on.....is that the thing where you get together with a load of friends, drink as much alcohol as you can get your hands on, listen to music, talk a little, dance a lot, eat as much as you can and try to avoid embarassing yourself by puking?

I have voted! I voted for the following: Acropolis. Angkor. Chichen Itza. Colosseum. Great Wall of China. The Pyramids of Giza. Stonehenge. I have been to Stonehenge and the Pyramids of Giza (even in one of the pyramids) I believe they are wonders cause of their meaning and longevity. I have voted the way I have because of the mysteries that they hold. The meaning and symbolism that they held to those that built them and the symbols that they are now. Symbols of national heritage and pride (Acropolis, Colosseum, the Great Wall of China, the pyramids at Giza and stonehenge.), symbols of religious belief (Angkor, Chichen Itza, the Pyramids and Stonehenge) symbols of power (chichen Itza, Colosseum, the Pyramids and the Great Wall of China), symbols of civility (Chichen Itza, Acropolis, Colosseum and Angkor) and finally the knowledge it took to build some if not all of these, which is a mystery and wonder in itself.

I brought all three. I thought they'd only be out for a limited time so I brought them as quickly as I could.....I wish I'd waited a month or so cause over christmas Wal~mart reduced the price from $24.95 (cdn) to $18.95 I could've save myself at least $10 (mainly cause I'd also get 10% discount for working there) Personally I'm glad I got them since I'm young enough that I never saw the original theatrical releases. I guess I don't feel as jaded toward Lucas as some of you since I haven't wasted as much money on videos/DVDs and whatever else.

Yoda went on a self imposed exile cause he knew that the jedi were being hunted and killed. More then that hunted by one who knew the way the Jedi thought, their philosphies and how they would react. If he had tried to help as EM mentioned Palpatine would've figured it out and the hunt for Yoda probably would've become a priority over all other jedi. You ask why he didn't train more jedi instead of going into hiding. I'm not sure that would've made much of a difference. By training more jedi all yoda would've been doing is giving Vader and Palpatine more Jedi to hunt and kill. More then that in training them unless you were constantly in motion it probably would've eventually lead Vader and Palpatine to Yoda and his new trainee(s). I don't know or care why Leia says she remember her mother. Although it might to some that conversation to me has little more meaning than Luke trying to find an easier way to tell Leia that they are brother and sister. Boba Fett using a sawn off rifle as opposed to two blasters could show a changing of the times as much as anything else. When Jango hunted it was a time of relative peace (I know there was a war going on towards the end of his life but it was just warming up) and people probably weren't expecting to be hunted or shot at. Boba hunted during a time of open war and chances are many people were now more frequently wearing some sort of protective wear for safety. I haven't read many books but I'll ask this question anyway....do we know for sure that if he can't use two blasters or just that he chose not to?

I don't think I'm quite green enough or stinky enough, maybe after a few rotten eggs though!

Surprisingly Turtle is my nickname in the real world! Given to my while in college by a friend since I was always about 5 minutes behind in the conversations. I can't remember why thats just how it turned out. I never really disputed the name and it stuck. I thought about giving it a star warsy kinda spin but couldn't think of a decent one so gave up! (Darth Turt, Obi Turt Liber or Qui Gon Turt didn't sound that good!

I have too many christmas wishes to count! To spend christmas and new years with my family. Financial security. (that is having enough money coming in that I can pay any bills and still have enough to save at least $100 at the end of the month, not necessarily being rich though I wouldn't say no to that either!) A nice house. Knowing for certain that my kids will be able to go to a good college and university. Vacations to where I want, when I want and to be able to do what I want when on them! to tell the truth I don't think world peace can ever be achieved so I guess a more achievable wish would be for no more wars!

Though I have no idea on a specific location I think there should be a few things that said location should boast to be even considered..... 1 A hot climate. 2 Somewhere with relatively cheap and easy acces to forum members 3 hot babes (I guess some good lookin' hunks for any 'babes' that are forum members should be found too for the sake of fairness!) 4 A good nightlife where cheap booze and/or drugs can be easily attained (preferably where the local constabulary turns a blind eye every now and then!)

I'd imagine being locked in a room with Jar Jar Stinks would be pretty bad.
