As far as I understood, it was essentually a giant transport ship. But I didn't really get it either...

There are no exceptions to the rule when it comes to math... only special circumstances. That was the basic theory, but to apply it to certain groups, you have to take into account several other, lesser-known theories. One of which is that mothers aren't evil. They can act in an evil manner, indeed, mothers are known to display evil attributes more often then most other girls, but when you use the girl/mother mathematical proof, it becomes clear that except for strange circumstances (when the planets align with a night of heavy drinking and the butcher knife gets left out), no mother is truly evil. There is also a paleontology theory, which directly correlates to and modifies the original girl=evil proof, just as you suggested SOCL. I believe there is also an experimental theory involving girls and video games... but it has yet to be proven.

Its probably as much a superweapon as the Eye of Palpatine, I suppose. But imagine if they had made it into a giant laser, aka Death Star... with a star for an energy source, it would be a true "death star", and would have the power to fire its primary weapon a lot faster... or maybe have a lower setting to sweep back and forth, destroying fighters...
-
Its similar, but not quite. Let me see if I can reconstruct it from memory, since I can't find it... (I'll use V as square root, and ^2 as... well, you should know that one) Given: To get a girlfriend, you have to devote lots of time and money. Girlfriend=time x money Girlfriends are by definition girls, so substite... girlfriend=girl=time x money But as the saying goes, time is money. More substitution... girl=money x money, or girl=money^2 We also know that money is the root of all evil, so if we substitute that... girl=(Vevil)^2 Simplify: girl=evil

What? Sun Forge? Whatever do you mean, Mitth? There's also the issue of KotOR II and its 'superweapon'... what do you think, should we classify it as such?
-
Ack... *twitch* DIE MARTHA, DIE!! *throws ninja star at computer monitor* Oh, wait. Umm... yeah, just ignore my emotional outburst at useless people, okay? If you want some really random logic, I should prove to you that girls are evil. Its true, mathematically proven using standard rules; substitution, square roots, and other basic laws (like subtraction). Of course its all a joke, so no taking offense anybody... *rumages around for the mathematical proof* Its around here somewhere, give me time to find it.

Oh. Okay, I'm not impressed anymore. I thought you managed to get the computer to build a DS with its standard settings... Can't do it in RebEd, its in the other editor (SWRE). I wasn't trying to whine about it, I hope it didn't come across as such. And as I said above, I thought he managed it with the default values. Making me think of how that's possible in a game you could actually win (I saw them build one once when I'd just started learning the game, but it was on hard, large galaxy, and I was on my last legs before finally dying).

Ooo, pick me pick me! I know! Er, wait a minute... *rereads the part about not making this a philisophical/ethical discussion, decides this applies to religion as well, and shuts up* I think we forgot a superweapon... unless somebody mentioned it and I missed it, the Star Forge from KotOR. I'd count that as a superweapon; no direct firepower but the ability to mass produce ships by harnessing the power of a star should still count.

Warning: Now that I've gotten to a decent stage in the game, I can't seem to stop playing. That means these posts are going to get longer... Fleet Serenity arrived at Corellia on 387… chases Devastator away again. On to Vagran to wipe out the fighters my people tell me are stationed there, after that Serenity and her battle group are going to Kothlis; hopefully I’ll have enough time to rebuild a similar fleet before Devastator makes a move. And I definitely need more forces in the Sluis sector, as Punisher just arrived at Denab with two carracks, the strike cruiser and a galleon. Now I’ve got to liberate the planet somehow, as my single Mon Cal regiment there was quickly overwhelmed (though they took two stormtrooper regiments down with them ). Day 396 “Move Serenity straight in. Have Pincer and Torpedo follow to the aft and starboard, with Thorn and Bear to the aft and port. Make sure Red group stays back for awhile, give us as much time on those interceptors as possible.â€

You got the AI to build a Death Star?!? Wow, I'm impressed. First you make one nice looking banner for your siggy, then you do what I thought was impossible. Computer with a Death Star... *mumbles to himself, trying to think of ways to do that and still win the game*

So sometime around my 1,500 post or so I'd better start coming up with some sort of picture... it'll take me that long to make one I like.

Oi, I suppose you're right, it counts as rafting. But I don't consider rafting worth the time it takes to put on my shoes in comparison to white water rafting... Hmm... math controls the laws of nature, politicians control human nature... and the four horsemen are the tools they use to finally end the world. Yep, it does all seem to fit, doesn't it?
-
I know it wasn't serious... its sort of becoming a running gag in my head, since I thought of the scene from NJO with Ganner.
-
Yep, it just fits for them, don't you think? Now all we have to do is figure out what happened to math (its certainly evil enough to be a horseman...)
-
Yep, whimsical fits. Both for the new rank and for you. I was wondering, once you reach 2,000 posts and pick a new rank, can you never go back and change it again?

This is how I would define a superweapon. Any weapon with far superior attributes then regular, conventional weapons. They are also something extremely dangerous to the opposing side, either because of tactical advantage, the fear they cause, or just shear firepower. The DS was because of fear and firepower, I'd put Corran Horn (or any of the other 'superweapon' jedi, like Jacen Solo) as being superweapons based upon tactical advantage or perhaps fear. Just look at the amount of respect the YV had for Ganner after his battle. Relating to today, the nuclear missile was first a superweapon because of firepower and tactical advantage, but quickly took the cake for fear as well. Now its not as much a superweapon based on power (conventional warheads are much stronger then they were back in WWII), but maintains its tactical advantages and ability to inspire fear. Any kind of efficient orbital weapons platform would also be a superweapon, based upon fear, tactical advantage, and its superiority to anything an enemy would have. And if it was really powerful, then it would have every single thing required to be an uberweapon!

You misunderstood, the part wasn't cut. It was decided that the 5th horseman would be the director, ordering all the other horsemen around.
-
haha, yep. That was the goal though, so I'll be pleased even if I loose. Wow, loose... I haven't lost a Rebellion game for years. Obviously I needed to do something like this before, huh? Or play a human so I can get my head handed to me on a silver platter. Assuming there's enough left to put on a platter...
-
What would I do without you guys and your photographic memories? Those two were my favorite NJO battles, with the Shimrra battle a close third. Oh, and the one where Anakin dies is good too... Er, I mean, sorry, didn't mean to spoil anything for ya.

Grand Admiral... nice, very nice. You're right, the end must be drawing near.

Double posting is fun! Anyway, you Imperial fans will enjoy this one even more... and everyone should begin to see why having the Grave interdictors livens up the beginning of the game. Well, day 353 arrives with a message that Fleet Cutlass has arrived at Kothlis… that is, the first part. Right now, it contains only the two nebulan b’s and two dreadnaughts from my HQ sector, Sumitra. Even in this state, I’m willing to gamble with it. I suspect that, like they usually do, they will have abandoned their newly conquered planet of Bothawui (that is, their fleet has probably left). It’s a big risk to take, considering if they haven’t left then I’ll loose all four of those ships, but I think it’ll pay off considering the other ships won’t arrive until 384. So off goes my tiny fleet… And I was right! They left, leaving 6 assorted troop regiments behind as garrison. A quick bombardment repairs my relations with the people in Sluis sector and regains the planet. I still lost an entire fleet though, and now I’ve got nothing in Sumitra or Corellian sectors… not good, considering intel just pointed out Devastator and Tyrant, an ISD and a Grave respectively, en route for Drall in the Corellian sector. Add this to rumors of a TIE Defender squad under construction in the Dolomar sector, and I’m woefully behind in research. This could get interesting; I’m glad I didn’t push my advantage earlier on, this is much more fun. By now (day 363), I’ve gotten another four planets through diplomacy in the Corellian sector. That means there’s only one neutral left, I have six and the Imps have three. But even better news; I managed to sabotage the Grave ship, Tyrant! I didn’t get the admiral onboard, but I’m happy enough with one less interdictor running around. Of course, the Devastator is still there at Drall, and a carrack now as well. I can’t seem to keep up my ship production to match theirs, I’m going to need some pinpoint strikes to whittle their forces down or I’m always going to be behind. Question is, how do I strike without leaving myself completely exposed? Uh oh. They’re coming back! Day 372 gives me nasty intel that the Imp fleet which took Bothawui is returning, only this time with an additional carrack and another ISD. Fortunately, they only have one troop regiment in tow, and I anticipated this move and have already gotten a shield generator built there. Well, almost there; it arrives day 376 and their fleet’s ETA is 379. Tight, I know, but its good enough. I just managed to scrape up three Mon Cal regiments to put there, and the last one arrives 378 Lets see them take it this time! I’m going to try one of those pinpoint strikes… with 7 advanced shipyards going on Talus, I managed to build up a fleet. Fleet Serenity contains a Mon Cal cruiser (Serenity), two dreadnaughts and two neb-b frigates. Loaded up with Xwings, I’m going after Devastator and its escorting carrack. Wish me luck… Day 379. Dang, this is bad. The Exterminator and Punisher have arrived at Bothawui with their support ships. Turns out my intel was faulty, they don’t have one troop regiment. They have ten, all stormtroopers and dark troopers. They can’t bombard the planet with the shield, but I only have three Mon Cal regiments for protection, and I’m not sure they’ll survive if they try an assault. Fortunately for me, they don’t assault. Day 380 starts with their hasty retreat, probably for another system in the Sluis sector. Hopefully not one that doesn’t yet have a shield generator… Fleet Serenity also arrives at Drall, meeting Devastator. Its carrack escort has left for parts unknown, and Devastator quickly retreats. Fleet Serenity is heading straight for Corellia, where I hope to put Devastator on the run again. If I keep him moving, it’ll buy me more time to strengthen the sector and all my newly acquired planets. Crap. Exterminator and Punisher (along with their faithful sidekick, the Grave Oppressor) showed up on my doorstop on 383. One day before two of my dreadnaughts arrive... Yet again I suffer a devastating defeat, loosing the entire fleet. I managed to destroy all 14 TIE Int. squads, took down the shield recharge on the Oppressor and even damaged its weapon systems a bit before the last of my ships was annihilated in the crossfire from Exterminator and Punisher. I can't help but think that if they had been one day later, those two dreadnaughts might have been enough for me to destroy Oppressor and escape with my fleet... For some reason, they didn’t stay to assault Kothlis though! I didn't have any troop regiments, and he didn't assault. If he had, he probably would have caught Mon Mothma, who is injured, and Han, who is a general there. Fleet Cutlass’ command staff escaped the destruction of the fleet, which is a very good thing as well. Now my only ships are back in the Corellian sector… and my refined minerals aren't up to the task of operating my shipyards in the Sumitra sector these days. I can only hope he moved his fleet off for repairs to Oppressor. Otherwise he could really do some damage in the Sluis sector. I think I'll move Fleet Serenity to Kothlis, using the shipyards at Talus to replace it and if I can get the minerals, then the shipyards in the Sumitra system will also contribute to a reborn Sluis fleet...

Read it anyway. Trust me, its worth it. And if you haven't read the book where Jacen escapes from imprisonment (wish I remember which one that was...), then read that too and you'll think he could classify as a superweapon as well...
-
Wait... a tour? (it finally starts to dawn on me what you meant) Ok, gotcha. I think. Actually, I don't think, its very painful. But sometimes I pretend to; it makes my parents happy and impresses the girls.
-
uh... what? I'm confused. Not an unusual state of mind for me, to be sure, but still...
-
What's Code Red? I can think of Alpha Red, not a superweapon, but that's still the only thing that comes to my mind...
