  1. Why use me for the example Scathy dude? Anyway, need to ignore the letters and numbers after the colon in the [img tags..
  2. No problemo dude! Not understanding something first time round isn't a crime, and thing's like what you asked perplexed me at one time, so glad all that typing actually worked. Given this is actually something I said I would do a year or two ago, I guess the Step-by-step fighter importer walkthrough my mysterious fingers might just scroll by 2008... EDIT: No need to deleate anything. Just leave game as is...
  3. Is immediately sent to hell without passing GO
  4. Righty! A step-by-step walkthrough for replacing models in the game. Download the Resource Hacker tool Open Resource Hacker File> C:Drive> Program Files> Lucasarts> Star Wars Rebellion> TACTICAL>DLL Expand the 301 folder Expand the folder corresponding to the model you are replacing; for example 2100 (Alliance Dradnaught)You will note three corresponding folders, 2100, 2101, and 2102. These relate to close, medium, and far ship models in the game. We've expanded the first folder. Open the folder where you've downloaded the replacement model files from this site. For example The_Mask's very woo Dreadnaught replacement. You will note there are six files. At this stage we're replacing the model, not the textures, so the relevant files are the ones named close.x, medium.x, and far.x. Having expanded the 2100 folder click on the 1033 entry you see there. This is what we're replacing. Right click, and left click on replace a resource. Open File with a new resource. Find the Dreadnaught file you want tro import and select close.x Resource type is 301 resource name is the folder we're working in, ie: 2100 Resource Language IS ALWAYS 1033 Repeat this process for medium in the 2101 folder, remembering the Resource Name is now 2101, and for far in the 2102 folder. File> Save Part one done! Part Two: The Textures. Expand the 303 Folder below the 301 folder. We're not actually going to work from the folders here. Click on the Action tab at the top. Click on Add a New Resource. Locate the file where you've downloaded your replacement model. We're now going to be using the three remaining files, which in this case will be dread_c, dread_f, and dread_m. These are the files that give life to the ship models, and the reason why the modlers' are reveared in this community. We need to import all three files in the game files, so: Open File with New Resource> dread_c Resource Type is always 303 Resource Name is dread_c.bmp Resource Language is always 1033 It's the Resource Name that tends to the problem, people have a tendancy to forget to add .bmp Anyway, repeat process for the remaining two. File> save CLOSE RESOURCE HACKER. Open RebEd> Check new model spinning away... say WOOO!!
  5. Doubt it's designed to be so dude... A few things i've come across of late which might momentarily amuse you for a moment or two: Darth Vader sounds archive Yes! You to can freak out everyone you work with by playing random Darth Vader quotes from the movies from your work station at full volume and then suddenly walking out the office door with this fun database of sounds. A five minute-ish video of some of his stand up, that is two good for words. How to do religion, be utterly hilarious, and not actually offend anyone in the process. Brilliant. Falling Bush An exceedingly strange 'game'/'activity' where you get to manipulate George Bush around a screen of blobs. Mellow and a bit wierd. One thing I liked about this was it was something about GB that wasn't political or offensive, given George Bush baiting is getting a bit boring. Silly Walks generator! Monty Python inspired sillyness. I think I posted it around here, but i'm not sure. For those of you a bit younger than some of us pensioners on the site, Monty Python were the outfit who gave us such gems as 'Life of Brian' and 'MP and the Holy Grail,' bits of which have gone down in comedy folklore. This is a a video-clip from the Holy Grail involving a vicious rabbit... The ministry of silly walks... EDIT: Replaced innocent looking bloody Spanish MP video.. fiends...
  6. This made me giggle: yoda doesn't speak strangely http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6610/yoda2se.jpg he's just greatly misunderstood Sorry... EDIT: I've actually just found some more of this guy's work: Ghostbusters Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Which I don't remember ever posting...
  7. Strange... given I can still hear the music from another window, and keep getting the urge to press another button, it must be good...
  8. On a similar vein... I found this which is wierd...
  9. The 50 mb download requirement put me off a while ago... Call me brain-disfunctional, but how come I can chat away with members here on msn without a 50mb download requirement? As usual, confussed...
  10. My brain is making the noises very old computers make...
  11. My life's a bit slow at the moment as well; I shall not bore you with the details... Zoo*cough* is his same old self.
  12. Hello stranger! Haven't seen you around for a while! How goes it?
  13. Happy birthday... http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0QwDVAlcUzLdlCzkBWcDfW3ZpwhKrwfjCeXoJJKd!kYD2hY45GHAVYDGnARp6M6xt5RGIJQ9E1WNZPTKShpqMhQieAf7KeuiuBEkYCr!zslA/tardis.gif

  16. Hadn't noticed that atall! I think i'll watch it again... TOP TOP TOP POST DUDE!!! I have never before seen that, and managed to miss that when I went to youtube and did a search with 'Star Wars.'
  17. One way to make capturing Coruscant harder, or a pain in the arse, depending on your point view, is to use RebEd to give the Empire three GenCon IIs and two LNRIIs at game start. I can't really offer any advise on the Empire's fleet defense though, other than recomending you using the traitor program in the downloads section and watching a game, and how the AI behaves, for about 1000 days. The Empire does build up a huge fleet and tends to use Coruscant as it's 'home base.' FOr example setting off to Yavin, and then returning to Coruscant. Then it might check out Corellia, before returning to Coruscant... etc etc... Well that is what I observed anyway.
  18. 'But you've got no arms, and only one leg!'
  19. I stumbled upon this Knowing what Monty Python is might help...
  20. I actually laughed my head off to the original post, but then this feeling set in, that's it's a bit wrong.. Fine as an email to mates or what not, but not fine for public forums. Sorry if you find 'political-correctness' uptight dude, but it does sort of work out in the long term I guess in so far as our attitudes go as a society. Where would you like us to draw the line? Race? Gender? Religion? You've expressed before you personally find people knocking your faith, like being hit on the chin, so how do you feel about anyone who sees your post who might have direct contact with a disabled person might feel, or someone so disabled? They can access the internet I guess.
  21. I think it is fair to say that you can go to any state and find rednecks. I have been to Alaska and have seen folks who you would probably classify as being in that class. I just think it is wrong to try and calssify people. Its all just a way to make us feel better about ourselves by looking down on someone else. And its wrong. *Applauds* This is actually appropriate elsewhere...
  22. Yay for you dude! Sounds pretty cool on the feedback elsewhere...
  23. You would say that comming from a country which is more or less a great plain dude! Isn't Hungry where the Gengis rested his great hoard a while back?
  24. Ah good! Does this mean you've tested it? I was waiting on some feed back before I potentially kill my PC with it...
  25. Sort of related to my last post and linkage concerning satellites: http://codefromthe70s.org/desktopearth_dl.asp Apparently, this program is wonderful - it replaces your desktop image with a satellite image of the globe, but untested but me!
