That is mentalist! Perhaps we can soon all float to work! Having just said that, i've just watched some Swiss guy soaring over the alps on the news tonight on some rocket-powered wings, so i'm getting more optimistic about getting to work on time as the years roll by..

Something simple I just thought of in terms of game play, given the AI is so clumsy, is when characters travel through hyperspace without being on board a ship, is a reduction in the travelling time; given this is something that hinders gameplay. We can assume logically they are on a shuttle of someform whose hyperspace speed can't be that worse than a buildable capital ship, and the character would still be vulnerable to being capital ships in orbit at the destination.

Good gracious Rob! With the way Americans drive, the country would be destroyed by the end of the day! Yes quite! ^this^ with trumpets, I have no idea if this is would be feasible in rural America (which is very large), but is a practical solution in urban centres at least for the time being. Getting people into small electric hybrids in London is more or less working as a solution to chronic congestion not least, given such cars are exempt from the 'congestion charge' levied at vehicles travelling through central London, and people are switching; with the exception of the wealthiest areas where the school run seems to still involve the apparent need of four by fours fuel guzzlers by thoughtless middle-class types who 'feel safer' in vehicles designed for the countryside.

Yes, I am a fan of Nuclear Power as well, when handled sensibly, it's clean and can be environmentally friendly. Arguments saying it's not are surely shadowed to the damage fossil burning has done, either directly or in the long run (where I suspect I may disagree with you Tex, my friend ) We can't be that far off Fusion either, we just have to have faith in the development of the technology.

I am drooling here I am paid to more or less get to work and start-up Photoshop CS3 until it's time to go home these days, and am more or less in charge of all the images for the Zoological Society of London (it runs London Zoo), and am currently trying to centralize the images on a single data base with appropriate image information, and so could potentially help out, but my problem is time. After that type of day, I simply don't have the energy or will to fire up CS3 at home at the moment, despite taking work home with me. I'm not even technically a graphic designer but seem to be approached by every department with stuff to do, even our own official graphic designer! Oh, my lot in life. I can't draw either, period; Lord La Forge is our man there. He's the genius behind the graphic stuff in Reloaded If you want any Jedi hotties, assuming I have images to mash; my whiry fingers might find time, if I find the source agreeable

This all sounds very exciting! The potential for characters actually switching sides would be fantastic; Luke or Leia seeing the Dark would be ace, or Crix or Kyle seeing the light, ah yes, this sounds ace. The prospect of loads more characters becoming available would make game play much more enjoyable, given the AI is a bit clumsy with allocating Admirals and Commanders in my experience, however much you try and help it with editing. Loads of Generals all over the place, would also be ace, and also the potential for having no real limit for all our favourite personalities from the Star Wars universe.

I think a Republican not at the political mercy of the religious or neo-con right, with a hard head, might at actually serve the the United States; and hence the world, with a little more effect than the Democrat squabbling I observe with some despair. We live in genuinely quite dangerous times, what Syria and Iran are trying to stir in Lebanon against it's democracy is simply further evidence of a world completely alien and abhorrent to me. As an outside observer, and given the current US military commitments, I can't agree with immediate withdrawl from Iraq, so can't seem to wish either Democrat in the Whitehouse. My vote here was wrong, earlier

Good luck with the career vision, fella That link is simply disturbing, and perhaps why we frown at stimulants + dodgy minds, not that this applies to everyone enjoying a joint, but that is simply grim Like guns, if you think about it, some abuse the trigger

Outstanding! This is something someone worked on here when I first joined that sadly came to naught. I assume this also involves troop regiments and fighter squadrons to some degree? That would be seriously ace, and would make logical sense. Be great fun to allocate names to such elite squadrons as well. Stear clear of the more fanciful 'super ships' is all I can think of as friendly advise; Eclipses and Soverigns simply destroy gameplay; so nothing as dramatic and comical (excuse the pun) as twelve mile long targets for fighters as a personal observation. This sounds interesting, and is the one element of the game that you might have observed seriously pisses me off. I don't play the game on it's original settings simply because the 'Outer Rim,' is so crap; Oh the joys of discovering a system capable of supporting a single mine! But on a larger scale it simply doesn't make any sense, or game play enjoyable. With RebEd you can adjust the system settings of the energy for Coruscant and the Alliance Headquarters planet, are you able to modify this so all factors with every system are perhaps potentially modifiable? I would be able to have a mighty fine sleep after ten years obsession with this game if system in the galaxy had at least fifteen energy slots, to build with. And no natural disaster. Ever. Wipe that from them game. Adjust the added resources/energy option, and with far greater frequency; make the galaxy much more logical as a place of economic development. It just might help the AI more fun to battle against as well. I can only raise my hat to you fella. I've been playing this game all weekend with Darth Tex's new galaxy configuration, and am simply left amazed how I still love the game so much

You code monkeys might want to figure out why the original game uses .bmp image files, which like Dreadnaughts are slow and heavy, and look crap; when .jpgs are compressed and don't have to look crap Just a passing leaf of a thought..

Chewie not growing old with everybody else is yet more reason to shake one's head, where all this has gone wrong In my personal view, but I have an infinite amount of reasons to divorce the expanded universe from what we catch in the movies, which I shant list here
-
Resource Management is the bugbear of the game; the outer rim (unexplored sectors?) is completely crap as a concept, also if you guys are serious abolish the 'natural disaster' from the game, and you will be everyone's friend. Seriously, elements of resource management make no sense, like how a system can be blokaded by an an unarmed Heavy Transport are simply stupid

In one, sorry I haven't been around lately to confirm. Weird how the big cats seem so similar but when you try and mash them in Photoshop you suddenly realize their head sizes are completely wrong; check out my profile elsewhere: http://www.b3ta.com/users/profile.php?id=9805 It's a poor excuse for an art community, don't worry about not dwelling there long

Christ, Imageshack is painful to download; but woo stuff Tex fella! (even with half a page); whilst busy with work and shit, I am curious as to you developments, so keep going fella! EDIT: That is awesome!

I'm not entirely sure if this is legal in accordance with the site, so the safe option is to lock this before any potential damage can be done Evaders and other mods do of course have the option of over-riding this lock; but from what i've seen in the past discussions about cracking lucasarts games are probably best left in private

Just looking at a Bossk figurine, and reflecting on that bit in the Empire Strikes back; why would the Empire allow fully armed Bounty-hunters on the bridge of the Executor? Fully armed? Just a thought I've been so busy lately, I haven't had the time to have many a thought on important stuff like Star Was A fully armed Assassin droid on the bridge? Seems odd

Ah, Heavy Metal; I used to love that magazine in the nineties when I made an effort with comics, a good source of inspiration from time to time, the Meta-Barons off the top off my head http://www2.b3ta.com/host/creative/9805/1206901852/Pantheraleojubatusb3ta.jpg See if you can see what's shopped

Rebellion 2008: Remake of a new Source Engine.
Jahled replied to Slocket's topic in Rebellion Editing
Are you restricted to using .bmps? If you could, using .jpgs would make the game look far less 'rusty'
