  1. Ah..yes...(gulp)...
  2. Have you no sense of drama? Wouldn't you be oddly happy to have your fleet of six Liberator Cruisers wiped out by theDeath Star/fleet you never saw? Come now, there's always a downside before the tale triamphantly ends........
  3. That's the point.....weight in numbers....
  4. You could also replace the computer's AI.... but I guess not many of us would know how to do that, or with another human being (I must to confess to never having done that). I tried going to the Lucas arts gaming page the other day but couldn't get to it. Where do you guys play it online these days? I guess we've all got completely different versions of the game now days, what with the new models, cards, construction costs, etc. If you can play online I assume you can save the game. My games usually last for weeks.(I like it on very slow so I can smoke the odd fag, open a beer, and keep track of what the heck is going on.... )
  5. I think the Suncrusher was a very silly idea. The scientific repercussions of Supernovas is devestating. The radiation waves steralize systems light years away.... They reckon if Earth's nearest stella neigbour went nova our own entire solar system would be cleansed in the radiation wave. Not what you would call a tactical weapon....especially when our solar systems is on the outskirts of the Milky Way, and stars (>hence, systems) denser the further into the Galaxy. Sullest? Lets take out the rest of the Sluis Sector while we're at it.....
  6. The other way around as well...it would give new panic and urgancy to that young rebel tactical game commentator, when he goes: 'Warning...Death Star approaching!' As it emerges from the far side of the planet....with your fleet two or three Death Star shots away from hyperspace....
  7. Two Star Destroyers at Endor, that is.
  8. ...one thing I think people should remember about rebel ships and ship-sizes is central to the Star Wars mythos is that the rebels were fighting an evil empire subjugating the galaxy, and crucially; it's resources. (Death Star's and Star Destroyers must cost a heck of alot an account's department's budget to build and maintain). The rebels were fighting to restore a republic who had better things to spend it's resources on than military hardware. (A point George Lucas is at pains to point out in the prequals, just look at the expression on Bail Organna's face at the end of AOTC on the balcony). I read I think on the back a box of cornflakes back in the eighties (and I kid you not), a Star Destroyer uses more power jumping into hyperspace than some civilizations use in years. While the statement may have been a little exagerated, the point is clear, I think. Don't let the rebels have super-massive ships. Just look at the fuss made about the alliance having captured at Endor in the Dark Empire comics. (Not that they did much other than crash on Coruscant and into a World Devestator!) Say, capturing enemy ships.....now that's an interesting idea for a new special forces mission....eeemmmmm.......beats blowing them up.
  9. Arc Hammer...drool drool.... Say, with all these new models i'm beginning to run out of ships to replace. Anyone care to think about cracking the rebellion engine to increase the number of ships.....might as well do characters while they're at it as well..... I'm full of wild, ambitious, but ultimately far-fetched ideas. If we can't because of Lucasarts licencing; LETS GO UNDERGROUND!!!* -Jahled, Minister of subversion. *and I can't be alone in being a little annoyed at Lucasarts neglecting my favourite game (and gamming genre).

  11. Does anyone have any good pictures of an Allegiance Star Destroyer I can use to make a card for the upcomming model someone just told me about?
  12. Do we really want a bigger box? My experiance is that in the latter stages of the game when you're dealing with seriously massive fleets the box seems to grow in some strange way. It takes ages for the fleets to engage. One game improvement to the tactical game i've thought about would be to have a massive box with the planet at the centre. Check it out, your fleet could drop out of hyperspace into a system with only the Death Star. No poblemo you foolishly think. 'Oh oh oh,' mutters Piet on the far side of the planet on the bridge of the Executor at the head of an Imperial armada.....(sound familiar...) I know this would mean reprograming half the game, but wow that would be cool. I wonder if Lucasarts ever visit our site and read our ideas?
  13. Not that I need a new girlfriend right now, but there must be a website where you can download one. There must be.
  14. If i'm replacing pictures in the game (for example an Imperial blockade of a system), what format do the pictures have to be in. I'm presuming i'd use Resource Hacker.
  15. This bunny you guys talk about, is it in the original Jedi Knight, if so where, and are you able to SHOOT it.....he he he
  16. Can importing a new galaxy map be done? Wouldn't it be cool to revise the galaxy map, especially now that there appears to be an 'official one' (>source: The Star Wars Encyclopedia published by DeAgostini). Aside from enlarging the galaxy, we could perhaps have two new inclusions (mainly involving the tactical battle): First, the grave yard of Alderaan as a system (not that you can do much on it though, besides perhaps having mines in the asteroid fields....) Second, how about the concept of 'deep space' where you can hide fleets. The tactical picture could be a picture of the galaxy (> like the end of The Empire Strikes Back). Perhaps deep space systems would be randomly placed systems across the game map, or buffers inbetween every inhabital system...(my mind is harking back to an old role-playing game called 'Traveller' in the 80's with it's cute hexgonal map. For every star system there were four or five empty regions of space).
  17. Say, I was just thinking how cool it would be to see your fleets actually bombard planets in the tactical game format. You could have little explosions on the planet's surface- perhaps using the same tactical explosion used on ships. Wouldn't this be cool! It would add a new dimension to gameplay, especially when a streek of energy comes up from the planet's surface and vamps one of your ships, because you forgot the planet had type-two defense canons (agaa..) You could use the ion-canon blue flash to indicate the bombardment has been repulsed by planetary shields. Expanding on this, how about replacing the DLLs of system blocades and invasions with a clip of Star Wars film footage. I'm sure Lucas Arts or who ever sits on the franchise wouldn't mind that much.... It's very slow at work today...
  18. Douglas Adams wrote 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,' and 'So long and thanks for all the fish,' where the super computer concludes the answer to life, the universe ans everything is 42. Gengis Khan had one hesk of an empire, China to Hungry.
  19. Intereseting thought....a tactical model of the Death Star with the battle raging around it. However, the reason it's seperated is a degree of realism of it's size, it just wouldn't fit in the tactical box, would it? Or would it...
  20. Say, does anyone know when Luke/Han/Leia say 'I've got a bad feeling about this,' in the game? Or the force sensitive characters exclaiming, 'I sense somethin,' I can't seem to recall them saying it in any game i've played. Also, there's a hilarious Leia line: 'Put that away before you get us all killed,' followed by Chewie growling It would be great to unlock that in the game, I can't think of when it would occur though.
  21. emmm.... I wonder if anyone in this little community knows enough about Rebellion's game files and some of these missing elements to figure out a way to put them back in the game, perhaps an executable-file. And if they are events that are activated by certain conditions that have eluded all of us all these years, perhaps a tweak to make them more common. Along a similar vein, it would be cool to expand the primary character's WAVE files to include some of those we're discovering using Resource Hacker. Don't know about you, but wouldn't it be cool to hear Leia say, 'would someone get this walking carpet out of my way,' instead of 'we've got to do better,' from time to time. We know the WAVE files are there.
  22. The more I check for replies on this subject, the more I realize i'm talking to my self..... isn't anybody curious about obscure and hidden elements in the game?
  23. Is it me, or is it normal to be discussing the sexuality of fish on a Star Wars Rebellion web site?
  24. A gallery from the game, now that's a good idea. There is one picture i'm really curious about, among the system uprising pics. It's of two people hoisting a flag against a city background (Coruscant?). Something that's never happened in any game i've played is the Empire loosing then recapturing Coruscant. Could this be the picture you get? Does anyone know? (Does anyone actually care?) Deeply troubled by this critical question I moved my fleet of ISD II, the Knight Hammer, numerous gunboats, and the Stormbringer Eclipse-class Star Destroyer (>one serious model guys...though the new Star Destroyer has to rank as the best) away fromn Coruscant to Balmorra, along the Emporer. I evacuted all planetry defense and waited...and waited...heck, I evan put a captured Mon Mothma as added incentive, just to get the Alliance to invade. I waited for about a hundred days, and the Alliance still didn't invade. Stupid computer. Grumble...grumble.
  25. I take it you live in a farm.
