I looked Bane Nothos up in the SW Encyclopedia. He is from a EU source. There is a couple of paragraphs about his history. Basically he was in charge of locating and destroying Ackbar's B-wing project. He failed and was demoted to command of the Outer Rim Patrol Fleet.-Grand Moff Conway

I typically send a new construction yard and then let it build up 2 or 3 more advanced CY's. Then use that facility to build in that sector, in this way you only have the first big wait.-Grand Moff Conway

Like GA Thrawn, I am sure the Empire would have devestated the Vong. The ability to counter evil with evil alone would make the difference. An Imperial Captain or Admiral wouldn't think twice about killing hostages the Vong might have taken. As Thrawn also mentioned the huge difference in defense spending alone would come into play. The Emperors ability to constantly guide his vast military would also come into play. - Grand Moff Conway
