Fel loked at him with a tight smile on his face. "Not yet, Admiral." Oreton sighed and invited Fel to lead the way out of the communications alcove. *** Within minutes the varied crew of the shuttle ventured into hyperspace following the coordinates assigned to them. Oreton was sitting close to General Fel, but avoided asking any questions. The situation was as confusing as he ever thought it could be. His task force was en route to Bastion, Captain Dorja had been given a sealed package that was to be handed personally to Admiral Pellaeon. Imperious was left at the rendezvous site and now a single shuttle advanced into unknown territory. In the cabin the two Jedi were meditating and tuning themselves to the Force as Jaina had explained the Admiral who knew little of Jedi techniques, though was curious about the ways of the Force. And on the cockpit the son of Baron Fel checked the coordinates and their final destination. Calmly he reported through the intercomm. "We will be there within five minutes." "Baron, what will we find there?" Echoing the quesiton asked by the Yuuzhan Vong a few hours ago. It was the Jeedai Vong who answered instead of Fel. "Only what we take with us." The voice seemed to come from beyond his awareness. "A ghost?" Jaina asked eyeing her fellow Jedi. "Perhaps." Fel nodded.

Doh!!! I had thought you had meant another one. You already spoke of him a while back. BTW, I'm en route to meet him.

Oreton sat with half-closed eyes on his chair in the bridge of the Imperious. Though he was used to lead battle from the command room on his Right to Rule, the command room of the Imperious overwhelmed and distracted him. A small beep announced him that it was time for their session. After the debacle at Csilla and the considerable loss of Bilbringi, Fel had insisted in holding a small War Council session on the Imperious, in order to brain-storm some ideas or interpretations from the five different points of view. Thus, Oreton had allowed the Jedi and Fel to use the command room as a conference room. The throne in the back of the room, was nothing more but an annoying distraction. In it center a huge holograph of the galaxy gave the room a blueish glow, that had an amusing effect on the people gathered there. The blueish hue had given the Jeedai Vong, as he had called himself, a more bizarre appearance, but still his demeanor revealed a calm nature, thoughtful and calculating. Attributes he would have considered improbable in a Yuuzhan Vong warrior almost a decade ago. The older Fel benefitted from the light as it hid some of his scars and wrinkles. His muscular and arrogant build made him seem to be carved out of a recruiting poster in the older days of the Empire. His son, much like his father also wore the elegant and arrogant posture that fitted ace pilots so well. The daughter of the legendary Han Solo looked more beuatiful in the blue hue, her youthful and athletic figure a happy distraction in today's session. Oreton thought he detected a hint of envy in the older Fel at his son for the beauty that Jaina Solo was. Oreton made a point to himself to keep his head clear and focus on a discussion that would reveal many things. Oreton nodded to the people in the room and sat on his chair, his companion did so as well. Alone the Yuuzhan Vong seemed uncomfortable with the metallic furniture that characterized the Empire so strongly. "The loss of Bilbringi has put the Empire in a complicated position," Oreton stated. "Of the members of the Galactic Alliance, the Empire is in the most vulnerable position to the Raporan advance. From Bilbringi the Rapora have access to the Imperial worlds closer to the Core, and we know of the routes leading from Csilla back to Bastion or Yaga Minor. I have received a short message from Bastion, indicating that the Chiss Ascendancy is chaos. A few scouts have confirmed the destruction of the planet Csilla." Oreton paused to analyze the faces of the people around him. "There is a massive move of evacuees in the worlds of the Ascendancy. With the Families in disarray and the leadership of the Nuruodo Family killed on Csilla(Fel motioned at the mention of this name), the defense of the Chiss worlds is somewhat chaotic. There have been contradictory reports on Rapora assaults on two more worlds, some sources state that they have been destroyed, other sources suggest that no other world save Csilla has been attacked. Pellaeon has offered a save haven in some world of the Empire, but there is reluctance and mistrust from the remaining upper ecchelons of the Families." "This is not unexpected," Fel said. "The ascendancy has always depended on the leadership from Csilla, that was why Thrawn had intended the Empire of the Hand to be the first line of defense." "Thrawn must have miscalculated the strength of the Rapora," Jaina said at no one in particular. "Or perhaps he decided not to show his strength fully." Ulan said thoughtfully and an enigmatic smile appeared momentarily on Baron Fel's face. "At the cost of an entire world?" Jagged asked in disbelief. "A warrior is always forced to take choices in favor of the greater good." Ulan finished, "a battle against the Resurrector must have ended in a complete massacre. It did not because the Rapora knew not of Imperial or Alliance reinforcements." "Perhaps, perhaps not." Oreton whispered. "If we take a look at our current status, the Rapora have the upper hand in the Unknown Regions. He can expect BIlbringi to be fortified and become a safe advance post for the Rapora. It's four days to Coruscant, and five or six to other major worlds. Corellia is a week away. Unlike the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, the Rapora could displace the Alliance out of the Core within the first year of a war." From his screen he manipulated the galactic holo to show a Raporan advance. "The Empire would fall in matter of months, and the Alliance would be left with its strongest ally." Jagged Fel said as he too drew some more advances into Yaga Minor and Bastion. Adumar, Iridonia and a handful of other worlds would be in their wake. "The Empire has begun a stage of dispersement. We learnt much from the past war and from Thrawn's tactics." Oreton said. "My fear is that our first loss was our gravest loss." "Denbu?" Jaina asked, adding a touch of irony characteristic to her Solo nature. Oreton smiled faintly. "The loss of the Nirauan complex was a severe hit, as was the death of Admiral Parck. Thrawn's collection of information would have greatly aided our efforts to understand the Rapora." "What of what was evacueated out of there?" Jagged asked. "Pellaeon told me that most was incomplete, the heavily encrypted files would take years to crack even with the assistance of Crypt Chief Zakaris Ghent." "That knowledge has not been lost. I can take you to the ultimate source of information on the Rapora and reveal what was meant to be the first line of defense against the Rapora." Baron Fel said speaking to the galaxy stained in the red-brown color of the Rapora. "Baron?" "You must trust me, Admiral." Fel insisted. Oreton looked questioningly at Fel, who replied with a hyperspace coordinate. "What will we find there?" Ulan Shai asked. "Our only hope." Baron Fel answered.

Any hints?

Why, thank you Trej! You are a really nice Vong as well. No, thank you Scath, it means a lot coming from you. An emotion-laden astromech. Sunny, nearing twilight. I'm far from being on the elite. I'm part of what you could call an intellectual middle class nearing extinction due to the poor choices of a non-existent political class that is more of an oligarchy of bankers, owner of transports guilds and the historical coffee oligarchs. Oh and corrupt ones at that. The "ruling" class seems a dynasty, of the 30+ presidents, they all belonged to 2 different families.
-
That cat freaked me out. Topic Closed.
-
Of course not! I think you're a really nice person, Scath. What's his specialization? Freud? No idea. But running a third-world country definitely isn't his specialization...
-
You notice how quiet, Scath? It looks like Mad has decided not to spam anymore...

Using our almighty moderator powers again? I don't have one. Still, the President of Costa Rica is a Psychiatrist. I guess that says a lot about us.

Decided to give up Bilbringi without a fight, the shipyards are important but not too much to risk Oreton's Fleet. Give me a few days of peace (go and assault the Alliance all you want) I need to do some restructuring to the Empire in the meantime... It'd be cool, though I don't have HW2 and I can't run it so it isn't that cool... I think Igor had also considered the Rapora for his possible Rebellion II Project.

Admiral Oreton felt uneasy at the site of the monstrous shipyards of Bilbringi. Ever since Thrawn' death so many decades ago they had fallen into the jurisdiction of the New Republic and then the Galactic Alliance. After the war was over the Empire had asked for jurisdiction over them arguing that historically Bilbringi was an Imperial colony, built around an Imperial Shipyards complex. Some people found disturbing that there were not planets in the system, instead the largest planetoid was been selected to harbor the colony and around it the shipyards had been built. Those shipyards had seen decades of constructing the latest Star Destroyers and now four Impstar Deuces neared completion. Their completion would of course be slowed down, because of Oreton's necessity for repairs. Most of his fleet was in severe need of replacing defective machinery or of complete system recontructions. The battle for Csilla had taxed their strength. Both physically and psychologically. While Oreton had given his crew a few hours of rest he had insisted in getting out of Bilbringi as quickly as possible and returning to Bastion and to the Imperial Capital. Alliance vessels had come and continued their journey to other systems. "Captain?" Oreton asked as Onolovav came closer and handed him a datapad. Oreton took it with his left hand, as his right hand was trapped within a bacta-bandage. So many things to repair. Oreton sighed. The datapad detailed the estimate time for completion of repairs about seven hours. Too much. Oreton decided. "ADMIRAL!" a young officer screamed. Oreton closed his eyes. "Raporan vessels, coming in from hyperspace." The officer continued. "Confirmed at least twenty vessels mutliple classes." "Signal the shipyards to prepare their evacuation, design teams and research specialists have a priority, from there down the hierarchy. Tell the base on Bilbringi VII to prepare an evacuation. " "The Rapora have launched starfighter," Onolovav reported. "Their are headed for the shipyards." "Onolovav, signal the fleet to start moving towards space, and have some heavy lifters take the Golans and the incomplete Destroyers into hyperspace." "We are leaving?" Jagged Fel asked from behind Oreton's chair. "There is no point in staying here, Colonel, the sheer might of number has inclined the battle in their favor and I do not have reinforcements." "The Galactic Alliance could respond." A shy suggestion came from behind Oreton. "To what point and purpose, Miss Solo?" Oreton shook his head. "Bilbringi is lost, there is nothing we can do." "Plus Bilbringi is not as important to the Empire as it seems," the older Fel suggested. "It has little strategic value, it's five days to Coruscant, it lacks clear access to a major trade route and other than the shipyards there is nothing here." "General I must ask you not to give away most of my secrets." Oreton said lightly. Fel was an intelligent man, he had already figured out that Bilbringi had been almost totally evacuated even before Oreton left for Csilla, Pellaeon had taken precautions. Ulan Shai had said nothing, though he paid attention to the exchange. Instead from the viewport in the bridge he saw the distant shapes of the Raporan Warfleet that advanced towards the shipyards that the Empire was leaving behind. Another world had fallen, this one without a fight. OOC: I'm not foolish enough to put up a fight I know I will lose. The Rapora can have Bilbringi.

Such speed, such agility, they must have a rather fragile build, the Vong still have an advantage thanks to their stronger build. Of course that applies in the offhand scenario of a weaponless battle. Their weaponry seems impressive, but Sekotian techonolgy might do the trick for the Vong. Plus I'm not thinking in sending Legions of Vong into battle, just a select mixed units (Vong, Noghri, Jedi and Wookiees aka. Nightmare Team) as commandos or something alike.

Trej, I think Mad78's last post can be considered spamming, don't you? You think we should delete it? I agree. Do you remember that short Moderator Wars you and Elvis waged a while ago? Danielle Steel and all??? Mad might need some of that, to correct his spamming ways.

What can take a while? Yoda's Grandson? Or the prophecy...? I had to run them comparatively against the Impstar's stats. I must say I deeply respect Kar Lurs and won't come close to them in anything but a Sovereign. The Savla class could be handled by an Impstar II if I figure out how to slow them down. Some kind of new tractor beam advance. Or would the Savla happen to have exposed engines? That and I need to find a way to know down those nasty mines. The corvettes seem a pain in the butt, but some heavily armed Missileboat squads should take them without taking too many casualties. Plus I'll need some kind of EMP or Ion Bombs to shortcut them, or at least the droids on the Kar Lurs. Another question. Hand to hand ground combat. Vong vs. Rapora? Who'd win? And what's the personal armament for a Raporan Ground Warrior?

Found the woman's name, it was on amazon.com. . They erased the eyebrows, so that young children could see part of the Humpty-Dumpty personality in Vader. Because Lucas had originally conceived him as a man that couldn't be saved nor by all the king's men nor all the king's horses... That or a lava bath would burn them away.
-
The guy with the Purple Lightsaber is Yoda's long lost grandson!!! Nah, just kidding. It's Anakin Skywalker, much like Palpatine (who is the Timeless One) he will not die until the prophecy (plus Stellar annex) is fulfilled.
-
Good. Now the huge ships!
-
I'm not sure about Palpatine's voice being done by a female in ESB, but I do know it wasn't the same guy as in ROTJ or the prequels. I also came to find out today why the reason the original holo in ESB is so blurry; as it turns out, it was a very primitive form of CGI It was an old woman, IIRC.

Who says I don't have brain activity? Not you my little 0.01 Hz Processor within a metal case... It reallly shouldn't be you... Mad didn't write this. It was me. Did you take your medication for today? You should go to your Psychiatrist. There's no "intellectual" difference between a 5 yo. Jar-Jar and a who-knows-how-old Jar Jar. I don't think that JJ would talk about Vong, he probably would talk about astromechs and how much likes them...
-
You should write up some stats for these things, something less abstract than "it could take a sovereign." The same for fighters.

Admiral Oreton frowned as the gigantic beam desintegrated half the Alliance's forces. "Status of the evacuation?" Oreton asked as the Alliance ships started to run for hyperspace. "Above eighty-five percent; most heavy lifters are out. Baron Fel's forces have cleared a vector for them. At least a ninety percent should make it into hyperspace." "Prepare for withdrawal, start recalling our fighters. This battle has been lost. Signal to all the Chiss ships to abandon their defensive formation and regroup and hyper to their nearest base. Start maneuverting into our escape vector, but we will not leave until it is absolutely necessary." "Our escape vector will take us too close to that Superweapon." "Whatever it is it should take a few minutes to reload itself, in that time I want every Imperial ship out of that things firing angle." **** Ulan kept close to Jaina and her co-pilot. Ulan had been surprised to find a Jedi on Csilla and especially Jaina, the three of them and Baron Fel's Imperial squadron had succeeded in cleaning a considerable portion of space for the escaping vessels. Then the flash came, and most of the Alliance fleet disappeared. The Imperials were starting to break away. In an ordered fashion the white daggers started to move away towards hyperspace. "Sword One, the Imperials are starting to move towards space," Baron Fel's voice echoed in the cockpit of Ulan's craft. "Staying around that superweapon would be suicide, Strikefast Lead. The Imperials have done enough for the Chiss." "I guess it's also our call to leave this place." Jagged Fel's voices joined the other ones. "I agree," Ulan replied as he killed another Raporan craft. "Even the Chiss were ordered to leave," the older Fel insisted. "Oreton is not taking a great risk, he is covering the Chiss' escape by manuevering closer to the Resurrector." "Desperate and suicidical, your dad would like him." Jagged jibed Jaina. The Imperial Fleet continued to move closer to the Resurrector hoping to avoid the angle of fire of the superweapon. They exchanged point-blank shots with the Raporan Fleet. The Raporan shots were focused on select objectives, more precise than their Imperial counterparts. As a result a Victory Destroyer started to slow down, and it as a fireball consumed its rear quarter it collapsed into a small Raporan cruiser. Bringing death to both. Another group of Chiss had entered hyperspace, the Raporan Fleet that had orbited the planet was closing the vector. A few hundred spaceships would be trapped here, unable to escape. "Strikefast do you have any missiles left?" "No, all the squadron is empty. I'm done here. Back to the Imperious." "Three against a cruiser are odds that even your father would consider," Jagged noted reading Jaina's mind. "There must be something." Jaina retorted desperately. "We are Jedi." *** Baron Fel had confirmed that his squadron, was returning at top speed back to the Imperious. The Chiss fleet had already withdrawn, after saying goodbye to their homeworld. "We are out of the hypermass of Csilla," Onolovav reported. "We can be out as soon as you want." Oreton felt impotent to see so many Chiss civilians left behind on the opposite side of the planet. He was too far away from them. A superweapon and a Raporan fleet in between. The three ships left by the Alliance had moved to exchange fire with the Cruiser sent to intercept the evacuees. But the effort would not be enough. "How many Chiss are still trapped there?" Oreton asked. "Hundred twenty seven, most of them are outdated freighters." Onolovav answered with dismay. "About hundred thousand civilians." *** Some Chiss had gambled their escape by entering into the hangars of the Alliance cruisers. Two Mon Calamari Cruisers and a Republic Star Destroyer were filled up with evacuees within minutes. Two Jedi and a Top Ace pilots kept the fighters distracted and a healthy amount of klicks kept the Alliance ships relatively safe from the Rapora. But distances shrunk. And the Rapora had more priorities than two single Jedi. The Alliance Cruisers entered hyperspace. *** "Forty freighters were left, twenty thousand civilians." Onolovav commented. Oreton breathed. There was nothing for them to do now. ARound him most of his ships kept exchanging shots with the Raporan Fleet. The Rapora had successfully driven them further from the planet into space. "All fighters recovered." An officer reported "Hyperspace on my mark. Three-Two-One," he looked again at the status display and the lights of the Chiss freighters dimmed. "Mark." The Imperials left. *** The Imperials left within ablur. "It is our turn now," Ulan commented. "My ship will not take another life today." "Away it is." Jaina said and set on an escape vector. "Where are we going?" "Imperial Space, we do not know where the Chiss have gone to hide. But they will most likely communicate with my father and Oreton." "Ulan will you come with us?" "A Yuuzhan Vong is not welcome on anyworld save his own, but a warrior is welcome in any war. I will go with you." The last combatants of the Battle of Csilla left. Csilla had fallen.

I had thought of using the guy with the purple-lightsaber... eventually.. It's your story, though... Excellent! That'd be almost the size of my Sovereign.
-
Which Darky-Fleet? His Raporan Fleet or his Alliance Fleet?... Larger ships??? You didn't answer my questions from the last page.
