I'm disappointed in you. If I wanted to buy an Xbox 360, there is no way in heaven or hell that I would pay several hundred over retail for it. Hell, I can't even pay retail. Okay, so that's because I bought (okay, am buying Monday or Tuesday) a $3000 computer. Been saving up for a long time.

It's not hard. Play TIE Fighter, you'll see. Admittedly it doesn't look as cool as cruising in toward the mothership and throttling back as you prepare to enter the hangar, but it's not hard.

Shield generator? I thought the general consensus was that was the bottom of a fusion reactor. Do you mean the two globes on top of the bridge-superstructure-thing? There's an ongoing debate about whether those are shield generators, sensors, or something else entirely. Imperator and Imperator II Star Destroyers have no flight decks or hangar bays except on the underside. I have to disagree with you Grand_Admiral_Thrawn, while the changes were made for gameplay reasons, they didn't need to make those changes. They could have spent more time to make a better game while at the same time preserving canonocity and "realism". F'ing LucasArts.

I hate games like that. I liked how in The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, the manual (and thus, the devs) encouraged you to keep on going if you made a mistake and see what happened instead of loading a saved game. Of course, Daggerfall was probably much more freeform than this game would be.
