  1. The problems I always have however are supporting absolutely massive fleets when planets start getting slagged either by the occasional misplaced bombardment or Natural disaster. That's where increasing the maintinence per pair would come in handy. I'd like to not only build my own huuuuuge fleet but have the Rebels do like wise. Or Vise-versa.
  2. (Awwwww)
  3. I had this one plan a lot like that except it used an Alleigance SSD and instead of Droid Fighters it launched Troop ships. I tried it in a Rebellion Game where I had Clone trooper regiments that cost 1 maintinence. EDIT: Sun Nov 25, 2007 My first attempt at re-arming the ISD series. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/DestroyerFirearcs.gif EDIT2: Bad suggested this. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/DestroyerFirearcs2.gif
  4. hmmm.... basicaly. But they arn't really intended to be a true hanger. They're not presurized normally and the 'garage doors' wont hold in an atmosphere without the help of a mag-con field. Also, the bays arnt seperated from one another when the doors are open. It's just some sections of durasteel armour milled down to act as protection so the fighters wont be damaged if they cant launch. Each one of the door sections has enough room for one (1) general size starfighter. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/DropLaunch4.gif It is intended to utilize Tie series starfighters, specifically the Vengance/Vandal series but most Tie starfighters can be used without modification to the docks. Tie Bombers and B-wings will not fit, though the Y-wing might. (I still need to scale a Y-wing to check that.) All S-Wing starfighters in use by the Crusaders are modified to use Tie starfighter docking gear. Wow, I feel like I'm image spamming this thread with low quality arts.
  5. It's a combination of two ideas. 1st, the 'drop launch' from an escape pod dock. And 2nd what I like to call the "Garage Door" http://drgaragedoors.co.uk/media/garagedoor.jpg Resulting in... http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/droplaunch2.gif http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/droplaunch3.gif
  6. Yes you can shoot down most missiles ( the Exception is the one that taco brought up) but you need to be a good shot to do it. Missiles are small and fast making them hard to hit. In the worst case scenario you try to cause the missile to miss you and overshoot giving you enough time to shoot it down but it is then very dependant on what sort of proximity fuse it's using.
  7. Ok got a bit of an update on the Cruiser. (No not just more colour.) Both now have the retractable protective armour around the external fighter docking points. Yes, that's right, the fighters go on the outside of the ship like the Tie's in the escape pod hatches in Wraith Squadron. The class is designed to carry promarity the Tie Vengance and Tie Vandal but others can be used also. Standard design carries 4 Squadrons while the expanded design carries 5. Both ships use the same Heavy weapons pod system. Standard pods have multiple fixed forward Turbolasers and energy storage capacitors for them. These Turbolasers are normally fired Gattling-gun style to maintain fire. Some of these weapon pods also carry Torpedo and Concussion Missile launchers. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/CrusaderClass3.gif The Interiors of these ships are filled mainly with Armour, Shields, Engines, Fuel and Energy reserves. There are no opulent living spaces like what would belong to an Admiral on a larger Imperial Ship. Heavy Turbolaser Turrets, 3 top, 3 Bottom, are the same type used by the ISDII, which mean each one has 8 Heavy Turbolasers. There are 10 Quad Turbolaser turrets and atleast 4 Dual Heavy Turbolaser Turrets as well. There are 38 weapon mounts that can be configured to carry either; 1 Turbolaser, 1 heavy Ion cannon or 1 Quadlaser turret for point defense. Standard pratice called for 14 of these turrets to use Quadlasers to provide minimum adaquate protection against Yuuzhan Vong Fighters. With the lack of interior space the main landing bay is normally reserved for small crew transfer shuttles or for heavily damaged fighters. If room inside the bay isnt available for fighter repair work, the area inside the protective armour outer docks can be temporarily presurised via mag-con field. When launching the armour is retracted into the space next to the hull allowing the fighter to make a quick launch into space.
  8. The Coincident factor there was certainly high! 'The Irresponsible Captain Tylor' set to 'All Star' Rented The Fountaintoday. I thought it was good.
  9. Has anyone ever come up with some decent tricks or tactics that could put to good use in the SW universe? I'm not just talking about things that work against the uber-dumb AI in Rebellion here. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/A-wingTactics.gif (1) A-wings fire concussion Missiles (2) Break formation to divide attention (3) Use A-wing swivel lasers to put the Ties in a crossfire without changing course.
  10. Looking good Mad. Now for the question I ask about most SW vehicles...how does it handle in Atmosphere? Tie Vengance yet again, this time with a topside view. Hadn't previously put one up because they all looked crappy. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/TieVengeanceTopSmall.gif
  11. Finally! Finished fixing this thing up from the drawing I scanned. Star Destroyer for scale only. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/CrusaderClass.gif Will talk about Heavy WEapon Modules tomorrow, I'm beat.
  12. Congrats! It's freaky. You can make a decent warship out of any bucket of bolts in Star Wars. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/LeonoreCruiser.gif
  13. I've been working for most of the day. Red vs Blue and Kingdom Hearts have 1 thing in common Dead _______ Storage (Clean) Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? (Really random)
  14. I just went with Tarkin for it. It's not the best match really in terms of shoulder shape. http://www.swtroopers.com/imp_costumes/imp_ofc_uni5.jpg
  15. Cute little mini game: Bell's Not sure how long this one will be able to stay up because a lot of Sunrise animation music videos get taken down.
  16. I already asked Krytos to model the origional design a week or more ago. EDIT: Regardless here's everything I could ever give you to work on the design. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/SpadeTotalWorksheet.gif
  17. Perhaps you can see it once Krytos finishes modeling it for me?
  18. Wait, Mad. Front and side view of which one?
  19. I've attempted on my own to create a card for my NSO character 'High Admiral Burgan.' Though I must say I'm not the best at matching up uniforms and such and was wondering if somone else could give it a try. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/AdmiralBurgan-Blue.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/AdmiralBurgan.jpg ...arg, just found a slightly larger version of the same pic I'd used of Hugh Jackman. http://www.hughjackmanfan.com/wallpaper/kateandleo.jpg EDIT: *Facepalms* I guess I didnt do such a good job on the outer edges of the smaller ones.
  20. Lightspeed is too slow! 2001 goes to Plaid ( Not responsibel for any epileptic seizures... oh god my head is spinning... *Falls overf erdeqfle[: jn EDIT: Dizzyness wore off after about 10 minutes. Everyone give this hilarious fic a read! 21. +++ Every officer on the bridge of Ardent was pulled forward slightly as the ship was yanked out of hyperspace early. "We've been pulled out of hyperspace by an artificial gravity well." reported the navigator The Admiral shook his head in annoyance. "Where's the Interdictor?" "No Cruiser analogs detected. There looks to be a Gravity Mine of the same type encountered by the fleet near Yaga Minor." "Is it blocking the entire hyperspace lane?" "No sir, just enough that we grazed the edge of the well." Wintle walked up to the Admiral after looking over the ship's status. "We should destroy it just so that it's not in our way on the return leg." Before anyone could say anything further the sensor officer called out again. "Hyperspace reversions detected. Frigate and Cruisers Analogs. All of them are on the opposite side of the Grav-well." "Do we launch fighters?" Asked Wintle. Dorja thought. "No. If they move to attack we'll back out of the Grav-well and find another way around. Sensors, what are the enemy ships doing?" "Enemy ships are moving perpendicular to the hyperspace lane." "They're moving across the lane like what was reported at Toprawa." Noted the Commander. "One of the ships just jumped away, the rest are holding position." No one spoke for a moment until at length the Helmsman asked; "Orders sir?" Dorja frowned then turned to the helmsman. "Take us across the Gravity well. The shortest course that will allow us to continue on to the Corporate sector." The junior officer began laying in commands and the ship accelerated. "Time until Grav-well edge; five minutes." "Additional contacts reverting." "Helm increase speed." sighed Dorja. "Sir!" Called Wintle, looking over the sensor officer's shoulder. "You'd better see this." "Bring it up." the older man ordered after walking over. On the Holodisplay appeared one of the ships that had just jumped in. "It looks like a small moon." commented the Sensors officer. "That's no moon Lieutenant, it's more like a space station." The ship was a rocky ovoid but had additional extensions and growths that made it look more like a spiral galaxy from head on. "Sensors, how big is that?" "Forty Kilometres across sir." "...And what is it doing?" "Moving across the hyperspace lane sir." "That's what I thought. Commander?" "Sir?" Replied Wintle. Dorja leaned closer to the commander and whispered. "Get us the hell out of here." "Aye." Wintle inhaled and started barking out orders. "Helm! Increase to flank speed. Com tell Twilight Wanderer to push their engines critical if needed. " While the Commander ordered about the rest of the bridge crew Dorja conferred with the sensor officer. "Are any of the ships moving to attack?" "No Sir. A Frigate and three Shard Squadrons look to be moving to protect the Gravity Mine. The rest are jumping out." Both watched the screens until the Helm's man called out the report everyone had been waiting for. "We have cleared the gravity well sir." Dorja stepped back up onto the command walkway. "Tell all ships to reduce speed, but stand by to jump. Prepare a Probe Droid for launch Immediately." Everyone waited momentarily as the Ops officer prepared the probe. "The Vong mobile base has jumped away." Dorja turned back to the sensors officer. "Log that trajectory and launch the probe droid along the same course." "Probe away." reported the Operations officer. Wintle had moved and was watching the sensor screens when new movement started. "Admiral we have Cruiser analogs moving to intercept." "Helm when the probe is clear Jump us out. Time to enemy Intercept?" The sensors officer watched the screens closely. "Vong ships are 3 minutes to weapons range." "Probe is clear." "Helm!" "Aye sir!" The Fleet jumped back into the safety of Hyperspace. 083
  22. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/S-wing.gif S-Wing Starfighter or Skipray Wing Starfighter A heavy general purpose starfighter developed by the Rebellion as one of many spin off's of the AB-Wing Ugly. It's speed fails to match that of the XJ X-wing or the older Tie Interceptors but still mounts powerful shields and multiple weapons systems. After introduction this fighter began to see use as a replacement for the far too expensive and difficult to maintain B-wing. Like the B-wing the weapons systems are heavily modular allowing it to be equipped for multiple roles. Standard configuration calls for 4 laser and 2 Ion Cannon while the "Groundsweeper" equipment package fits the S-wing with nearly a dozen light and heavy repeating blasters. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/S-wing-Groundsweeper.gif
  23. Yeah so I over did it with all the Star Trek posts, but we're past that now. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/Motivational/HolyHandGrenademotiv.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/Motivational/HJmotiv.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/Motivational/Greatsword.jpg
  24. That was already a topic of much debate on another board. Specifically Nuclear arms are banned from space. I dont recall anything about lasers or Tungston Rods though. So if it's not a weapon of Mass destruction it's ok. So that means we can use anything short of a nuke and still be within treaty.
