I believe it was initially planed to be launched when the chat was over, but since that had to be pushed back till tomorrow, I assume the new layout of the site was also pushed back. In other words, no, it's not been changed yet.

I'm not sure I follow you there. -
I've edited my post to better reflect what I mean.

"Dr David West Reynolds (author of various Star Wars books, and has access to the Star Wars vault) has provided precise measurements of the original Home One model. The overall ship's length is 239.0cm, and the hangar's hole in the hull is 8.2cm wide at the widest point. The base of the platform is 5.4cm and the edge is 5.0cm wide. The hangar width measurement agrees exactly with the photomosaic result. Using the figures for the hangar platform based on the interior picture and the ILM model yields an absolute length of 3.84±0.08km (according to platform edge) 3.69±0.08km (according to platform base). These ranges are overlap; an appropriate combined result is 3.76±0.10km." You can read up more here. Movies take precedence above all other sources, except where there are obvious flaws (like the imperial rank badges in RotJ). Since the hangarbay has to be a minimum size for the Lambda class to get thru it, the movies prevail above any other source. It is the ultimate canon. There's nothing above, and nothing next to it. -
Well, I'm not quite sure what's up with that, but I do know the new site is just around the corner of being launched. I believe it was initially planed to be launched when the chat was over, but since that had to be pushed back to tomorrow, I assume the new layout of the site was also pushed back.

The Home One is around 3000 meters. Period. For the Lambda Class shuttle to fit thru the hangar bay, the Home Ones minimum lenght has to be 2.5 kilometers. That's the bare minimum lenght. Upper lenght would be around 3.8 km. So 3 km lenght for the Home One isn't too large. And that's going by the movies strictly. -
Bleh, I'm tired here, I posted the wrong history to the wrong ship :/ And no, the Avenger is Needa's ship. I've fixed the short history of the Accusor. Not as impressive as the Avenger though. Dev's can't we get the Avenger as a Hero Ship instead?

The Devastator is an ISD mkI. Up until the Executor came off the line, it served as Vaders flagship. The Accusor is an ISD mkII and was one of 6-7 Imperator-Class ships serving in Vaders Death Squadron, along with various other smaller support ships. But that's after ANH. I don't know the names of the 1-2 extra ship(s) which has been added into that fleet on the new DVD editions, but I know the 5 original ones: Accusor Adjudicator Avenger Tyrant Stalker I've heard the Devastator served in Death Squadron aswell. Short history of the Accusor: Star destroyer in Lord Vader's squadron during the Battle of Hoth; Admiral Piett transferred flag here after the Bespin incident when Vader returned to Coruscant aboard Executor. This ship was also present at the Battle of Endor, captured by the Rebel Alliance and renamed Emancipator. Participated in first and second battles of Borleias under Admiral Ragab. Saw action under Generals Calrissian and Antilles at the Battle of Calamari six years after Endor, destroying the Imperial flagship Allegiance before being consumed by Silencer-7. Lacked notches in its brim trenches, perhaps as a modification following the heavy damage sustained at Endor. Possibly in a ISD-III subclass.

Not if it's been established before. That would only make the confussion even worse. -
Oooooooh, sorry, my bad. I typed that really early before I went to work. I thought you were under the impression that's how it was going to be.

No. It will be more like, you start with a few planets on each side, then you look at the galactic map. As you look at the Galactic map, time goes forward. Exactly how fast I'm not sure, but 1 game minute will definatly not be the same lenght as a real minute. You start building units, upgrade the installations you already have, start research, find some heroes perhaps, all this at the same time your opponment is doing the same thing. As you do this you should also start planing where you want to go to capture or convince a planet to join your cause. You move your forces around perhaps, setting up defensive positions for some, others you use for attack purposes. Next, you might move 1 of your fleets to an enemy controlled planet. If there are enemy forces there, combat will ensue. If not, you will easily control the space above it. Now, there might be ground forces present. So if you want to capture the planet completelly, you will have to land your forces and engage in combat to drive them off. Meanwhile, your opponment might have had similar thoughts, but in a different area, and he arrives at one of your planets minutes after you finished your ground attack (perhaps they were already enroute when you arrived at his planet). You have forces around that planet so you can defend against the enemy fleet. Etc ...... Forget everything you remember from games such as the Dune series, Warcraft, C&C, StarCraft .... this game is nothing like those. It's not liniar, you can lose a battle or retreat from it and then come back at a later date when you have more forces, etc......

I heard rumors Jar Jar was on Alderaan when it was blown.
-
I find that a horrid thought to be honest. You don't just change a thing just to fit the part. You either create a new thing, or you use an existing design as it is that would fit the part. Not take something that doesn't fit and change it into something it isn't.

Death to the Heros!! Uhum, I mean, yeah, I agree. Once a hero dies, he stayes dead. Otherwise, what's the point in killing him/her?
-
My trusty old Z-95 can make short work of a TIE Scout.
-
That reminds me. Exactly what use will the Tie Scout be to us? What is it's purpose? Will it be used as a scouting ship in Strategic Mode? After all, it is a long range scout ship. Or something else in the Tactical Mode? The ship isn't exactly a fighter. I mean, it's got 1 lasercannon, is packed with God knows what kinds of different sensors and scanners, plus a hyperdrive. Possibly even life support system, but that last part is just a guess by me. At a size of 24 meters, compared to a standard TIE Fighter which is around 6 meters, this makes for a somewhat large target, which also lacks real firepower. If it's only ment to be used in the tactical mode, wouldn't it make more sense to use the TIE Vanguard instead? A 6 meter large, shortrange Recon ship? Yeah, it still only has 1 cannon, but atleast it isn't so large that it might aswell paint a sign that says "Shoot me" on it.
-
Well, you're still gonna have to do it anyway. 40 planets arn't exactly a small amount either. And considering there's 2 battlefields to play on, that would make it to 160 possible battles to fight.

When 2 fleets arrive at different planets at the same time?
JanGaarni replied to Megajames's topic in EAW General Discussion
No. The only way you can leave the tactical view, is to either win the battle, or retreat, or make the game auto resolve, which could leave you in a worse state, by losing your fleet. -
Haha! I'm not very disappointed because the 80 planets was just a rumor! That's what all of you get for believing it! jk.jk.jk. I'm just kidding! I am kind of dissapointed, but 80 planets would make multiplayer campaigns impossible (unless you wanted to stay up for like 48 hours) If you do that, you don't have a life! You know, you can save the game.

When 2 fleets arrive at different planets at the same time?
JanGaarni replied to Megajames's topic in EAW General Discussion
A more interesting question in my mind would be, can you coordinate 2 fleets from 2 different places to arrive at the same place at the same time? -
The shot definatly does not come from the planet. It doesn't even hit the ship. Obviously it's from a ship behind camera, as the bolt is coming from behind and traveling away from the camera. It does go parallell to the axis of the star destroyer, but it's such a blurry bolt, that it's clearly close to the camera, which gives it the impression it's a large bolt. Since the bolt is rather short, I'll bet good money it comes from nothing larger than a star fighter.

There you go and call them "pirats" again. You must be an imperial to the bone.
-
There were many groups of rebellious people after Palpatine took the rains, but it wasn't until a few years before ANH that the 3 (by then) largest groups merged together to form the Alliance to Restore the Republic, better known as just the Rebel Alliance.

Alien Factions That We May Expect to See Ingame

Actually, yeah, I have heard about them scouting the Star Wars galaxy. But that is second hand info for me, haven't read anything I think about it.
