  1. Epic wins, Sinister!
  2. Jahled, you might appreciate this. It's the front cover of a collection of comic strips from the popular strip Pearls Before Swine. I read it on the web, but some might get it in the local paper...
  3. I assme that we look at it as though the dancer stands upon the face of a clock, the point from which the hands rotate. There is apparently no trickery involved- I showed this to someone else and watched at the same time as they did. I saw it going clockwise, she anti-clockwise.
  4. Moved clockwise for me as well. I'm not sure how you're supposed to see it moving in the opposite direction when it can clearly take only one direction, though... Edit: Gah! It's flipping back and forth between the two, now!
  5. Are you sure this is a remotely good thing, Mitth? Criminy!
  6. This one's a tad... mature. It made me chuckle, though. Die-hard Republicans ought to love this.
  7. This isn't art, specifically, but it was funny. I was behind a large Ford truck, the kind that screams "I'm compensating for something!" rather loudly on my way to school in the morning. Anyway, the truck had all sorts of flaming decals all over the place- the rear-view mirror was even designed to look like it was on fire. And then we get to the lovely license plate, baring the words Hell Sixty-four. Except he decided to be cute and misspell "Hell." The plate read: HEL64. For those of you who speak l33t, this should prove rather funny right away. For those of you who don't: Mr. Macho's license plate reads: HELGA.
  8. I- dang, Def. Your grandmother has a good story to tell, mate! Well, "good" in the sense that it has some serious meat to it, and that's one amazing-sounding story! My Grandfather never saw action, so he just tells us the same story over and over about how during pilot training the air force wanted an army guy in the plane with them in case the army guys practicing their shooting (They were supposed to aim for a white sheet behind the plane) got frustrated and wanted to shoot the plane, they wouldn't. He never saw action- all he has is a scar from mustard gas briefly pressed against his arm during boot camp.
  9. Gag reel for Season One of Supernatural Hilarious if you watched Season One. I particularly love the Finale! (If you know what the finale is, that makes the ending ten times funnier)
  10. Well I'll be... Mine's run off as well. Odd. Granted, no one else uses the same computer to log on and run about on these forums as I do, so it isn't a problem. Still, our logout button is disappearing today- tomorrow it will be the Staff and History link! Before we know it the whole site will disappear!
  11. Anyone ever heard of a flick called Flight of the Living Dead? I saw a preview for it and deemed it just about the best movie for MST3K to attack if it ever returns.
  12. I'm only posting because I don't want to die, Forge... Don't kill me- I have too much to live for! *Ahem* uh, right. It's been a while since I touched Rebellion, to be honest, (Scary that we can hang around a forum about the game and not have played it for so long... Outside Interests is just too interesting, I guess...) but one thing that I would appreciate would be to not give the enemy the leg up of having a huge presence in your HQ sector from the start of the game whenever you're on hard- IE You're the Empire and the Rebels have four planets in Sesswenna (Sp?) you have Coruscant, and the rest are neutral. Also, you have a Vic and a Dreadnought whilst the Rebs are armed with forty-five blockade runners. I'm all for harder AI, just harder in a different way- IE it would be harder to take out the enemy ships, but you'd be fighting them in different places depending upon your skill level, rather than always right close to home. Then again, I'm not certain that can be done, thus, use your own discrepancy on it...
  13. One of 'em didn't work, GAT. This is right after watching Escape from Alcatraz: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a169/DarthTofu/ClintPoster.jpg Face it: Chuck Norris is just a cheap knockoff of Clint Eastwood.
  14. That was the main point. Otherwise I was just throwing at "jab" at you Tofu, because I knew you would take it in stride (because you're a good sport ) Sorry- I'm still kinda used to dealing with my 92-year-old grandfather and my own father, both of whom have a bad habit of forgetting that schools today are not the schools of yesteryear, when people would be shunned for not showing up in a shirt and tie and speaking in language wooden enough to make the diction of The Scarlet Letter seem colloquial. I got everything but the Civil Engineer and the Computer Engineer maxed out... Dang, these Grow games are tricky...
  15. Hehe- the first thing I thought as soon as the link opened was, "Wow, that's a good looking gal, right there." Then I read the article and laughed at the fact that I was like most people in one respect, and that almost never happens!
  16. Bud! Your language! There are innocent little minds running around here. You know how they (Tofu) pick up things like little sponges Yeah, because High School is completely and totally free of swear words in every way, shape, and form.... Still, the principle of what you're saying is to limit the swearing, thus I'll agree with you on that. Granted, Nancy Grace does look pretty funny in those links...
  17. I'm a rather large procrastinator, unfortunately. Occasionally I will have the foresight to do something in advance (Usually a "fun" assignment) but in general, I fall into the last category. Take the other day, for instance: Wednesday night I had a mountain of chem (2 weeks' worth of work that I'd completed about half of) and full knowledge that I'd be losing a good three hours of after-school time Thursday night due to a CPR course I had to take at the school for Life Management Skills. I was suffering from a certain amount of insomnia (I have three AP classes; homework leaves little time for physical activity) and was still awake come 11:30. What do I do? I reach for my Chemistry book, and on the way, spot the Latin-to-English dictionary handed down from my father to me. I translated most of the trailer of 300 into Latin, the line "Hello, my name is Indigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die," and "It's one hundred and six miles to Chicago. We have a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes (Cinder sticks in my translation), it's dark, and we're wearing sun glasses (Glasses of the sun)." "Hit it." into Latin. I had 117% average in Latin II before I even did these translations. I have an 88% in AP Chemistry. Latin II > AP Chemistry in my book. ... Took me the better part of three hours to finish that Chem last night... Also, right now I should really be working on one of the eight assignments I have to finish for Florida Virtual School by the 14th. I, of course, am typing away on the forums about procrastination at this time, with all of one part of a twenty-part assignment done.
  18. How old does a movie have to be to qualify as an "Oldy," Tex? Not to burst your bubble, but several of the flicks that incorporate sound are on the list of oldies as well. The movies on my list are almost thirty years old. At what point do they transend being "movies" and become "Oldies?" Edit: My mistake- though Wayne's World was far older.... 'pparently not...
  19. The last movie that was prominently CGI that I saw was 300 which, while kickass, was a remake of The Three Hundred Spartans, and not the least bit historically accurate. Most of my favorites are oldies- Blues Brothers, Wayne's World, Cube... All splendid flicks...
  20. That fan art is disturbing, attractive, creepy, and impressive. The above is from Starship Troopers, I assume? The "Suddenly Bananas" one was just a truly random toss-in to prevent you from having all of the posts for a full page.
  21. I'm not blaming you for anything, Eagle- I'm making a joke. Umm, right, drinks... Where's the pan-galactic gargleblaster (sp?)
  22. Already stated that I've got a friend and that we're the Blues Brothers. Not necessarily for Halloween, just for October tenth and eleventh, but I'll still post pictures.
  23. I saw Little Big Man the other day. It's around thirty years old, but it's still a great movie! I strongly recommend it to any and all, though it would likely have a more profound effect on American viewers than European or Australian viewers, since it's about the American expansion Westward and the war with the "savage" Indian people. Custer is not painted in a good light (As he never should have been).
  24. *Snigger* Gotta love Storm trooper samurai....
  25. "300 for a bottle? This is madness?" "Madness? THIS- IS- A NIGHTCLUB!" *Kicks eagle in the chest down the massive well* It's okay, folks, he has wings! He can fly away, eventually! Sorry, Eagle, but since nobody had done it yet, I felt that it ought to be done. I'd never heard of this Boy George character. I totally thought it was a gal when I clicked those image links!
