  1. As far as I've seen, Empire at War is using the standard RTS model in the way of Age of Empires, Starcraft, CnC, etc. Yes you have ground battles and space battles. But the actual scope of the game is very limited, you control much less than Rebellion. 40 planets versus 200 in Rebellion. While there are "hero" characters, it will not play out the same way as Rebellion. Nor have I seen any indication of "thousands" of units. I've seen no indication that there will be a mission system like in Rebellion, nor a true 3D battle environment like in Homeworld or Rebellion. Rather, every indication is that it is a planar environment. If you're expecting Rebellion, this isn't it. But every indication is that it will be a good RTS game, probably the first RS hot game for LucasArts. * Moved to the Empire at War forum *
  2. Empire at War is not going to be a Rebellion 2 sequel. It is a totally different gameplay and design. Yes it is an RTS, and yes its Star Wars. But it is not Rebellion. (Doesn't mean I won't be playing it. But a fanboy response isn't going to do anything) Please note: there is an Empire at War area on our forums.
  3. Of course if you had the technology, and never want to communicate, you wouldn't have to. Non-intervention policy? - Side-topic Actually... according to the Giant Impact Theory, the moon would have been created during a collision with a semi-molten Earth. This is figured around 4.5 Billion years ago, shortly after the formation of the Earth. The surface of the Earth was cool enough to form a crust around 4.1 Billion years ago. Life is started around 4.0 Billion years ago with self-reproducing RNA molecules. No fossils would have been around during the formation of the moon. In fact, no life at all. Boned animals would not have come around until 505 Million years ago.. the appearance of the first verbebrates - fish. - End side-topic
  4. Unfortunately, this seems to be a hard-coded thing in Homeworld 2. In the original game, you cannot capture above your ship limit.
  5. I can only suggest updating your video drivers. If that isn't it, I recommend reinstalling. Not much more we can do
  6. Use RebED to load the card into Rebellion. Go to the Encyclopedia entry, save the bitmap
  7. Create a new player profile?
  8. Integrated cards on laptops are worse. At least with desktops, you'll usually have your own dedicated video memory. Laptops usually share main memory, resulting in a really slow, if it runs at all, performance.
  9. I'm monitoring this thread closely. If it ends up flaming, I will close it. Two topics that always end up in such heated discussion are politics and religion. Be nice people, and this thread will be open for discussion. If not, I can always lock it.
  10. Known issue with the ship class, I'm sure it'll be fixed
  11. So nothing works from the normal Warlords shortcut?
  12. The setup actually doesn't create a shortcut to the main program, it's a bug. Search on your hard drive for rebed.exe
  13. http://theforce.net/swenc/entrydesc.asp?search=16902 I assume out of the sources listed, it is most likely referenced in Destiny's Way.
  14. Yep, no soliciting on the forums. Closed
  15. If you are really so worried, you can always reinstall Rebellion. It's very simple to do
  16. Most people that I know of use it to make it HARDER...
  17. Most people just play with resource injections anyway
  18. Seems fine to me
  19. It depends on where you're changing your signature.. See Forums Profile http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/modules.php?name=Forums&file=profile&mode=editprofile
  20. We're looking for hw2.log
  21. You'll need to post your log then
  22. Using the HW2 1.1 Patch? Created a new player profile?
  23. I recommend the Empire: HQ only mode. That way, you start off very great. You have Coruscant, and many of the Core worlds, plus you'll usually have a decent fleet already. You know exactly what your enemy's goals are. Plus you get the Force powers of Vader and Palpatine. Your only problems, getting enough diplomats to match the Rebels (but since they're coming from the other worlds, you have the advantage of less travel) and then finding the Rebel base. Espionage is key here. You can have great power suppressing any rebellions, and stormtroopers are probably the most versatile troopers. Nothing beats a Star Destroyer in the early game. Finally, you can assassinate all the Rebel minor characters you find.
  24. Intel integrated graphics is bad. You'll need to get a real video card, Nvidia or ATI
  25. I think you're being hit on the video card performance. What video card are you using? Have the latest drivers for it?
