  1. The source: http://www.starwarsfanworks.com/timeline/ Timeline Gold, under the Appendices Appendix I: Understand the Lost Episodes
  2. Spartan, definitely that would be the role they play I don't see the issue with the 'Darth' title. There is still the rule of two since Darth Bane, a master and an apprentice. Can you explain the problem here?
  3. I played, though never active enough for tournaments and such. I just didn't have that kind of dough. The best I did was one round in the Death Star 2 prerelease at Dragoncon. SWCCG is still one of the most impressive card games. The SWTCG by Wizards is just too simple, something more akin to Pokemon than the Star Wars universe. Then, I've always regarded Decipher's licensed games are quality... Star Trek is done well (though I'm still not sure of all the rules) and the LOTR game is quite awesome. I love the concept, played through their tutorial program. Unfortunately, no $ to actually buy cards (phyiscally or through their online system) Still wanted to do an online version of SWCCG, because Cardtable and Holotable still don't make it all that easy to play. If anyone's interested, just chime me.
  4. Sure, if you have specific ideas how to do that. For the most part, I just want to let people play how they want to play... with a little bit of structure in case we need to declare war on any other group
  5. It still seems to take the standard RTS route. It does not display any of the complexity that truly made Rebellion a game of its own. Just because I am not hyping EaW does not mean I dislike in any way. You just jump the gun and try to make facts out of spectulation. In my mind, it holds no connection to Rebellion what-so-ever. It is another Star Wars RTS, hopefully a good one. But we will see when it actually does come out.
  6. In fact, in the first published interview stating how many epsisodes George Lucas planned... the answer is 12. I will find the corresponding source, but obviously Lucas has changed his tune quite a bit. We don't really know what he would have done post Episode 6, he hasn't really stated anything. But the 9 was also mentioned after the 12 because he wanted to do a true trilogy of Anakin Skywalker... his rise (or fall), his redemption, and the aftermath/consequences. Finally he decided he'd wait until the technology was ready to do the prequels. It would be another 20 years, and then he would figure out he probably couldn't live to do sequels, much less post-sequel movies. Thus we are stuck with 6. I'm sure he has lots of ideas in his head for more movies. Maybe he'll screenplay them, or novel them, before he dies -who knows?
  7. Thus why spying is key.. or if you don't want to invest in that, just spend 1 attack turn to 'probe' their defense before doing a 15 turn attack. Be warned that the randomization factor is high... you can beat someone by a fair amount, only to find later that the randomization makes it go the other way - you waste 15 attack turns then
  8. Well if they ban us from using the Star Wars part at all, then I think lots of games and sites will have problems The worst I've seen is Lucas's team shutting down the Star Wars Combine, but it came right back up again in a few days. And I'm sure they haven't been forced to remove 'Star Wars' from their name.
  9. It's cool. No doubt LucasArts would never let us use the Rebellion 2 name for anything. It would be an instant product copyright problem. So better to use Rebellion 2 as an inspiration of what this is, rather than an actual concrete name of a product
  10. Or read the SWRebellion news?
  11. To get the most gold, you want to attack people that have a bigger army size than you. That usually means harder targets, those who are better prepared to deal with your attacks with their defense.
  12. It's not about the 'Rebellion 2' name - its about the abstraction that is 'Rebellion 2' - a game that can be a logical heir to Rebellion and provide the fun and addictive nature we've got for the original. There have been several attempts so far, some with more promise than others. I'm supporting this one, much of it due to the concept work we've seen so far. It is really inspiring - a great way to motivate people and keep them interested.
  13. You try making a total conversion Bill!
  14. My old HP laptop really has a problem with overheating. Bad ventilation design, it will shut itself down when it gets too hot. It needs a bigger fan and bigger vents. I have a newer Compaq laptop and my friend has a newer HP. They are much better designed, don't have the same problems of overheating and such. Of course they are also bigger widescreen models, so go figure.
  15. * Moved to our new alliance area
  16. The first 10 were season 1. The next 10 were season 2. Both of these were the short ones. 21 to 25 = season 3. They really got the resources to make them 15 minutes long, bringing the story all the way to the beginning of Episode 3
  17. This is just for free, web-based online games. Mostly, the simple ones that you can take a few minutes to play - such as KingsOfChaos Which ones interest you? If you've found one you like, post it Planet Battleground http://www.planetbattleground.com/recruit.php?id=8478 Setting: C&C, Choices: Russia or USA My second favorite, I've been playing since their Game 2. Requires some clicking, but the built-in Recruiter is now limited to only 10 clicks. But there is a Bank, an experience system, not much else too complicated. No build in alliance system. LordsOfLegend http://www.lordsoflegend.com/ Setting: Fantasy, Choices: Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Trolls, Undead, Dark Elves, Draconians, Fangolians It's sorta complicated at first. There's a building tree for what you can get, and limits for personel. Sorta like playing an RTS game without having an actual map to play. There is a built-in alliance system, but there's no clicking in the game. DarkThrone http://www.darkthrone.com/recruit.dt?uid=V30260R30226E30311R30362C30379X30277 Setting: Fantasy, Choices: Humans, Undead, Elves, Goblins A more complicated version of KingsOfChaos. Different levels of upgrading soldiers and buildings, mercenaries, and other things. There's all kinds of options here, built-in alliance system, there's a built-in Recruiter and clicks are a must. NationStates http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=dun_huang Setting: Political, Choices: Various things for your nation So this is something quite different from the rest of them. There's no attacking, no gold, no real symbol of wealth. No goals really but answer political Q&As, driving how your nation will develop. Are you driven to provide all services to your citizens? Do you want to give money to special interests? Are you promoting democracy or ruling with an iron-fist? Some of us are in the SWR region, if you want to join. Overall, its pretty simple and interesting for those politically (or not) inclined
  18. What is this? This is an alliance for the web-based game KingsOfChaos, hosted at SWRebellion.com What is KingsOfChaos? It is a free online, web-based game at http://www.kingsofchaos.com Hundreds of thousands of people play in this fantasy setting. It's simple and easy, you can play as often (or not) as you like. The goal is to be the best, and you do that by attacking other people, getting gold, and building your armory. What are the requirements to join this alliance? You have to be a fan of Star Wars - no seriously, you just have a KingOfChaos account, and join us here on SWR. If you're a new player, we prefer you sign up as someone's officer. Your commander gains an advantage one soldier for every two ifficer's clicks - and you don't get any disadvantages. * New players, join under the following person: dreamtrust27 * This will be updated as we fill up people to 4 officers each So what are the goals of this alliance? Just to have fun and play with friends. We aren't aiming to be the biggest clan or the strongest one. We play with honor, and we accept people of all affliations. I have to note that we are losely affliated with the Phoenix Rising alliance through their chain. If you're affliated with other big clans, follow their rules. So what is this chain? While not required, joining under the chain (the network of commanders of officers) gives bonuses to all our members and ultimately helps everyone. Commanders gain one soldier for each two clicks of their officer. We can show our unity by having each person connected, and thus our entire group is better prepared for war. Chain members get the benefit of higher positions, should someone leave the chain or decide to quit. If the quiting member decides to donate their account, others in the chain can be in line to receive this account - this allows the hard-work people have put in not to be wasted. Or if they want to do a selloff, it can be organized so that our chained members get the gold. Still want to be independent? Think about it, all the top players in the game are a part of someone else's chain. They do better because they have the support of their commanders and they support their officers. Very few in the top hundreds are"independents" How about a clicking-system/recruiter? We will be working on our clicking system to trade clicks. Using a credit system, we will ensure that you get back the clicks you put in. Thus everyone will grow at a steady rate of clicks. Click system is still work-in-progress and will be done when needed. The unofficial click links are located here for chain members: http://www.swrebellion.com/evaders99/koc.html Members list? Confirmed members list will be up soon. As well, we will work on an enemy list if we have any problems.
  19. Since this is more relevant to Rebellion 2, it's been moved
  20. What is Rebellion Reloaded? Rebellion Reloaded is a Total Conversion project for Rebellion, developed by the members of SWRebellion.com What features are planned? Since this is still using Rebellion, there is a limit to what can be done. There won't be any new features outside what can be the done in Rebellion - ala, we cannot ADD to the number of characters, only replace. We cannot put in high quality models. We cannot make an event to have the Emperor reborn.... However, what is planned are... New characters and new images for them New shiplist and other units Better ship models Changes to sound, cutscenes, encyclopedia entries, other little goodies And more... When will it be released? When its done. Don't ask the team this any more. It will be done when its done, and no amount of begging will make it happen any faster. (However, monetary incentives to the amount of a full-time jobs for the team... yes, that may make this happen quite faster LOL) How can I help? I'm sure the Rebellion Reloaded team is looking for more help. Just ask them what they need, there's always room for dedicated members to help out http://www.swrebellion.com/images/topics/reloaded.gif Screenshots http://www.swrebellion.com/images/RR_screenshots/screenshot1.jpg http://www.swrebellion.com/images/RR_screenshots/screenshot3.jpg http://www.swrebellion.com/images/RR_screenshots/screenshot2.jpg http://www.swrebellion.com/images/RR_screenshots/screenshot4.jpg
  21. * moves to Galaxies forum..
  22. 1) You actually need to have slots for buildings... the boxes underneath the planet. If you have no open slots, you can remove mines and refineries to gain more. It is best to find one uncolonized system with lots of open slots to put multiple facilities onto. 2) You actually need to assault the planet. You'll need troops, and you'll need to get the planet down to less than 2 shields. If they have two gencore shields, you cannot assault the planet. Best to bombard things out so you'll have little troops left to resist your assault. 3) Use a small group, one or two characters with good combat skills.. and then some decoy infilitrators/guerillas. They will have a harder time begin detected. Good to eliminate troops and characters from their planet, especially Jedi and generals will make detection easier for your opponent 4) CTLR or SHIFT will allow multiple selections or band selections
  23. Conceptual eh? Still very cool. I wouldn't be able to lead programming, given my time constraints. But I definitely would like to play a major part in development. Personally, I think an effort like this would require a true "real-time" server/client application model. Skip the PHP steps and go straight to a client connecting directly to a server. Will reduce all lag and avoid unnecessary clients requesting updates to the server. I'm all for a Windows server, if someone has the right hosting, it would be perfect for developing on .NET. I've done client/server with a basic chatroom model in VB 6. But haven't done it in .NET. I'm inclined to go .NET if someone will lead the effort. Otherwise my personal preference would go VB 6.
  24. Wow, those are great screenshots. If you can make thumbnails, I'd be happy to post news on our site (and to save people on the forums too, hehe) Is this in-game with the engine running? Or just conceptual? What language is the main application done? VB.NET, C#? I handle mostly scripts, PHP, ASP, JavaScript - webpage things. Most of my application work is done in VB 6, however I am looking for the right project to jump into .NET. You probably don't need the hosting, but if there any resources we can offer to help this project come to completion, just tell us. (Btw, "Imperial Empire" is kinda redundant isn't it? I suppose its "Galactic Empire" hehe)
  25. No, since... obviously he has no connection to George Lucas what-so-ever. His site is a farce, anything he puts on there cannot be taken at face-value.
