  1. http://www.swrebellion.com/evaders99/koc.html This is my link page. Anyone under me can put their link here. I added people's SWR account name where appropriate If you decide to join, I encourage you to join under one of the officers already. That way, you will help everyone from the chain bottom to the top. We can work on a more formal "alliance" structure if anyone wants to. If you are serious about getting clicks, then I can talk to you about how to use a recruiter.
  2. Yep, just a way to power. Once you've got them believing in a lie, you can sucker them into anything.
  3. kaja, clicked. bobandrubert, if you failed the initial choice, then you'll get that "copy the text" message. Usually you'll have to wait for 5 minutes before you can click again. Something is just messed up in their system. I've been playing KoC since the end of Age 1. I have mentioned it on the site before. I guess I'm pretty experienced in it now. I will support anyone in my command chain. If you join under me or one of my officers, you will have my support for clicks as well as fighting off any farmers/sabotagers. Just like to mention we are loosely affliated with Phoenix Rising (one of the biggest alliances in KoC) through the InfinitE Alliance. If you have any questions, or want to get more opportunities for clicks, just message me.
  4. Clicked. If you want a Commander, just join under me. My link is below
  5. I was talking to Eville, just discussing the scale of Homeworld 2 to Nexus and such. Really Homeworld has a very large scale - a "defend the mothership / superweapon" design, individual ships really don't matter as much. Nexus has a smaller scale for its missions, really you only have a few ships and you try to preserve them. Each ship has a different role. I'm not offering any solutions, just discussion. From Tie Fighter and such, we have another scale where fighters are extremely strong. One can make the difference - namely, the player character. So its really going to be hard to translate some historical missions from the game into Homeworld. I expect we'll find some that are actually useful, but some missions will have to be altered or not used. -- I'm asking anyone with lots of free time, go through the X-Wing/Tie Fighter games and start laying out each mission. Which ships are there, what goals are done - how does it fit storyline-wise. Even a map will be good. Those will be one resource we can use to plan single player missions. If anyone things X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter or X-Wing Alliance will prove useful as well, I'd love to get some background on those. And anyone that actually has the Farlander Papers and Stele Chronicles (coming from X-Wing and Tie Fighter respectively), send them my way too!
  6. The addictiveness of MMORPGs
  7. Runescape requires too much time.. and besides, people cheat on it like crazy No one liked any of the fantasy text-based games I suggested. Perhaps someone will find something else, or I'll find time to work on my own "Star Wars"-ish game

  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Alright, I'll stop laughing now
  10. I'm sure there are lots of things in real life that we don't hear about, crisis that really could change things. Look at all the countries now where people have thrown off their dictorial leaders. And other areas where there has been civil war going on for years. It's a pretty complicated and conflicted world we live in. On the other issue of EU, this is Star Wars afterall. The whole "Galactic Civil War" thing - Without the galaxy-wide crisis, what kind of atmosphere would you have? For example, you wouldn't have a book on the diplomatic efforts of bring Ewoks into the New Republic. On the issue of infiltrators, I'm sure there's some comics that deal with more of smaller Rebellion stuff. There are some good short stories from the Tales of the Empire and Tales of the New Republic books. There are also the comic books, while some of them definitely deal with "galactic crisis", a lot of them show other sides of the SW universe.
  11. The Elegant Universe perhaps? I'm surprised if people haven't seen that one yet. All on string theory and such.. I believe it was a 3 part production for PBS.
  12. Star By Star. But you are right.. Anakin is dead. Borsk Fey'lya is dead. Nom Anor is dead. Lots of miscellaneous Jedi knights are dead. Of course, there are some new characters and some old ones that have grown up. Ben Skywalker - I'm sure he'll be a part of the post-NJO era. Jaina and Jacen Solo grown up, Tahiri grown up - I really like her development in the series. It was really the X-Wing series that showed that the books could really have a plot without staring the main movie characters. Without those books, I don't expect that EU would have developed the way it did. Possibly, all the books would have had Luke/Leia/Han do their usual 'kick the Empire' storyline and there would have been no variety at all. I agree there are problems with EU. It often isn't consistant. Different writers have their own styles and characters. But the alternative is what we see from a lot of scifi series... total lacking originality and universe development (Star Trek anyone?). And considering that writers were banned from the pre-Classic/Clone Wars era for the longest time... only way to go was post-Classic
  13. Can't say I'm a big fan. I've seen some: Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away. Others I have that I haven't watched: Nausicaa, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Kiki's Delivery Service
  14. 1. Already decided to implement 2. Already decided to implement 3. Undecided at this point, some missions would require a 'defend the headquarters' objective, probably others won't 4. Maps hopefully won't be too big, less they take forever to load, play, and generally just lag down the system 5. Unfortunately there's no built-in command to select the next level to load as far as I've found. I will try some workarounds, as I have time. 6 (you repeated 5..). Death Star probably will not be in any level (other than perhaps as a background) 7 (ditto). Something you'll have to ask Eville for 8 (okay everything past here is numbered wrong...). There is no way known to enable kamikazi as a player action. Some missions may involve the AI using kamakazi, as there is a script action for that. 9 (ala, . Ditto response to 5
  15. Eville's already working on rebalancing weapons. So talk to him if you have any concerns. Usually he's around the chat room.
  16. Who needs explaination? Does Dawn of War explain 'popping up' troops? I don't really remember seeing it. Such games will always have certain things that can't be explained. You start having a super-realistic game, than it just becomes a simulator and not a game.
  17. So far, my opinion of Nexus is pretty good. I haven't delved too far into the game, but it does look like a good engine. The screen is much more complex than Homeworld, seeming to provide numerous options. Still sometimes, have a hard time actually picking up where things are, as there doesn't seem to be a real 2d plane which to focus on. Ships still seem hard to discern on the backgrounds. Seems very complex game. I don't know what mod tools are available. If its pretty friendly towards moding, we should see who is interested in developing a mod.
  18. Well, after Jedi Academy I think we're just going to see a break for a while. I don't think the market is really ready for a new JK game, at least without some technological inovation or decent storyboard. The engine is showing its age, and Academy really showed nothing good for story. Its just not the right time for another game.
  19. I had that thought too. Would be cool to have Imperial squads, Rebel troopers, etc.
  20. Well I've been too busy to really get started. But I'm going to do a tutorial based on the SP test, and then see if anyone else wants to help. I've got initial ideas from Eville, so we'll basically start there and see what's feasible. Some more information is probably in the other thread in this forum
  21. We would need someone with time to render the cutscenes. But its a cool idea.
  22. It's already planned. But since its much easier to setup historical scenarios, we will be doing that first. Then once we get more experience into it, we can develop purely original Warlords campaign
  23. Stop it, stop it! Let's not go into a SW vs ST debate here. Go to StarDestroyer.net or other communities for that please
  24. Perhaps Rebellion isn't on there as a full install?
  25. Oh jeez.. not more... no!
