  1. Sorry to hear that Bill. I wish you and your family all the best during this difficult time for you
  2. Granted, but now you're throwing up violently I wish I could be in two places at once
  3. A sweet, some Nails. I needn't watch Pinion, I remember it well enough Rob Zombie - Dragula
  4. Wow, that would have been an awesome meeting Kaja! I hope you get to talk to him some more, Lead Artist at LucasArts... that's just bloody awesome!
  5. Granted, but you become addicted to day time TV ruining your life I wish I didn't have to try and figure out Normal Mapping and just knew the bloody stuff
  6. Yup, there's a way that requires you to export the model as a .3ds and then convert it to .x and use a model importer on this site, in the downloads section. However, when modelling you'll need to keep a few things in mind - scale (not adjustable in the game, only in max) and the z-buffer issue with the game. There's a thread somewhere, I believe in the modelling area, where I discussed that issue.
  7. Granted, but you cause a chain reaction destroying every universe. I wish for a new universe after Mitth inadvertently destroyed ours
  8. The News: A manual, oh no Time out! Time out! Dracula Run, it's a squirrel! ----- And some personal 3d randomness. I re-did a render today (unfortunately I can't show you). The original render took 3 hours. This time, however, I did some tinkering with mental ray's rendering algorithm optimisation field. Re-rendered the image at a significantly higher res (1024x768 to 1920x1200). Render time, 24minutes and 13 seconds. ----- Oh, and FINALLY some pics of my car ... yes, I over reacted before Still feels bad knowing your car was in an accident. Current visible damage: cracked bumper, broken tail light, exhaust is bent, spare wheel well is slightly dinted/bent and the boot lid is dented. Rather pale when you looked at the other car in the pics. Like I said before, I almost laughed when I saw the pics for the first time. http://remote.misoneism.com/accident2.jpg http://remote.misoneism.com/accident3.jpg http://remote.misoneism.com/accident4.jpg
  9. I'm using max 8 still. I'd love to get my hands on 9, mainly for the mental ray additions. But for now, learning in 8 is more than fine. The few chances I get these days to tinker with it prove to be most fortunate - just the other day I was introduced to a much, much better way of applying UVW maps with a single modifier and without breaking up the mesh. I've also looked into some more sub-divisional surface modelling via NURMs, though I'm yet to try them seeing as it would probably take a long time to get a model produced. I was also trying to start up a quick concept run with normal mapping a chest of draws ... but ... yeah ... whoops These days its more personal stuff I make, for portfolios ... well, when I get the chance. This semester I'm going to "try" to put myself up to making a range of game based game models (ie. low poly). I've got an assortment of pictures hiding in the "You me and art stuff" thread if you want to delve into looking. I've also got a handful of models in Reloaded (4) and re-worked 3 or so of the Star Destroyer models we had due to unforseen problems (but model is still someone elses and the texturing was all Mask's). I'm also hoping to get an intro movie done for Reloaded ... don't expect to see it in the beta though
  10. Granted, but you must go to work 24 hours a day for the rest of your life - which is really short after you go postal. I wish I had a lollipop
  11. Count me in as a Reb Eagle
  12. Spot on Kaj Mental Ray through 3d Max ... 6 I believe that was back then. That was used to acheive the caustic effects. Sounds like someone else is tinkering with 3d apps these days?
  13. Welcome back Kaja Reloaded is working towards a public beta set for release on July 4th, so that's pretty damn soon! As for Rebellion itself, and playing it at a high resolution - you could try the Windowed mode of the game. Rightclick on the shortcut to the game, but the short cut in talking marks and then add a -w after it (eg. "c:/Lucasarts/Rebellion/Reb.exe" -w). Oh, welcome back again
  14. Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the physical combat in the game. Quiet nifty, wack them with you can or you can do some nice kicks - side kick, round house or a bicycle kick. Multiplayer, doesn't realy give the same experience as the single - in fact the producers of the game must agree as you can download the multiplayer only game for free from their website.
  15. J, you truelly are the gif master *bows to thee*
  16. Granted, but it can't go in the water as it's hydrophobic and will also flood. I wish I could slow down time and my whim
  17. AvP 2: Great game there Mad, real enjoyable first and second time round. I played it more recently, but it lost a lot of its charm as your memory kicks in about what happens. But hey, it's still scary as hell creeping through an Alien hive at any time. Much better than the first, good graphics (for its time) and a really good storyline. When it came out, it was one of my favourite games. The only thing it lacked was a co-op multiplayer game like the first AvP - that was fun, 2 - 4 blokes fighting off a constant onslaught of xenomorphs. Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne: A nice RTS, well for the single player at least. Multi and skirmish I didn't like too much. Frozen throne takes a while to get started, I found, but was a pretty good game in the end. Command and Conquer 3: Another good RTS. While I found that the single player, and even some of the over all game feel doesn't really yell command and conquer like the prior to, it is nice to see the EA haven't gone and killed off the original Command and Conquer. Great single player, skirmish and from what I've heard multiplayer (no time for that these days ). The AI is something else, best AI I've seen in an RTS of this style. Very adaptive, where you can play in easy and the AI will be challenging if you are. Basically the AI will change on how you play, you build up fast etc. the AI will do similar and attack more. If you're a slow player, or build up lots of defences the AI will react to that. I think it could be better - but I hardly ever here myself saying: "dumb AI" in this game. Don't play brutal ... that's just insane. FEAR: Bloody brilliant FPS! I'd overlooked the game after playing the demo and getting little to no-where in the first level. My brother played it and loved it, so I gave it a shot and it is really fantastic. Fight scenes are great: You can slow down time to do battle with brilliant AI controlled opponents (a lot of the time you need to slow down time to fight them, especially on hard or the level above that). Story is good too. My only complaints are some of the story didn't really resolve, you need a really powerful computer to play with high graphics and the game does take a while to get started story wise. Nevertheless, one of the most addictive games I've played in a long time.
  18. Granted, but the bottle is empty I wish for a TV in my room
  19. The Church of Google Just remember, it is a parody - so don't go off the deep end like some of the hate mail Even though it is a parody, they do make some interesting points in the arguments section. Their proof section was a bit lackluster. Personal note, while funny - kinda thought they went over the top in attacking other companies calling them the devil or simply crappy. I know Microsoft isn't the greatest, but they definetely could have let up a bit there with the Satan thing and telling people not to use IE. Ironic, seeing as they talk about how they don't pressure people into doing what they don't want etc. Oh well, each to their own. Funny, nevertheless. Enjoy EDIT: Oh on, looks like they're in the news now!
  20. Granted, but they take your car as well I wish for more free time
  21. Well, saw Transformers last night ... truth be told I actually thought it was good...ish. It was a good action flick - typical Hollywood style. If you're expecting it to mimic the original transformers, don't anymore - you'll probably be disappointed. Go in not expecting much more than giant robots blowing up crap, a pretty girl and a lot of laughs and you'll hit the movie on the head My biggest gripe, apart from not following the Transformers story as we know it in the comics and cartoon, was the "comic relief characters". There was a lot of laughing in the movie, and these guys (one in particular) were not needed to go overboard like they did. In fact, I'm sure many will be able to compare said comic relief character to Jar Jar. Annoying. Also, the transforming time and over the top animation of several characters ... well ... you'll get when you see it Other than that I thought it was pretty good It won't win any awards for the story, but was worth the time it took to watch.
  22. That would be because it's not out yet July 4th is the current set date for the Beta release.
  23. I'm yet to recieve the pics of the damage from my brother. I do, on the other hand, have pics of it prior to the crash ... trust me, the colour grows on you (that use to be a running joke, that the colour grew on the car). http://remote.misoneism.com/80-1.jpg http://remote.misoneism.com/80-2.jpg http://remote.misoneism.com/80-3.jpg http://remote.misoneism.com/80-4.jpg Brother took the photo's with a Cannon 20D incase anyone was wondering.
  24. Granted, but then in a twist of fate Tofu gets legal ownership of the internet and bans you That might of been a little far fetched I wish that Transformers won't be a waste of my time tonight
