Actually, they're Acclamator-class Troopships, the precursor to the Victory-class Star Destroyer. Acclamator-class Troopship developed and manufactured by Rothan Heavy Engineering, the 752-meter-long Acclamator-class trans-galactic military transport ship was designed in support of the Army of the Republic. Measuring 752 meters in length, the Acclamator could carry up to 16,000 clone troopers, 320 speeder bikes, 80 LAAT/c or LAAT/i gunships, 48 AT-TE walkers, and 36 SPHA-T vehicles. The ship was created for the Republic, rather than the Trade Federation or the Separatists, after several Kuati officials were murdered by the Federation at the Eriadu Conference. The Acclamator-class ship was the first ship produced, and was designed to carry huge numbers of troops and support materiel into battle anywhere in the galaxy. What made them unusual for a capital ship was that the Acclamator-class could move through planetary atmospheres as well as the vacuum of deep space. This meant that separate dropships were not required. Each of these massive ships was armed with 12 quad turbolaser turrets, 24 laser cannons, and four projectile launchers. It was crewed by 700 officers, and was equipped with a Class 0.6 hyperdrive in order to get troops into battle arenas with maximum swiftness. The Acclamator was distinguished as the first ship capable of carrying out a Base Delta Zero order, something never seen in the Old Republic until the onset of the Clone Wars. In most design respects, the Acclamator was the predecessor of the Victory- and Imperial-class Star Destroyers. And I wouldn't count on Dreadnaughts. They're EU, and we've ALL seen how much GL cares for the EU.

I believe that was one of Ton Phanan's remarks to Tyria regarding her limited use of the Force, and what he'd do if he were Force-capable. Cool line. My favorites from the books: "Yub yub, Commander" -Wes Janson, regarding the 'fictional' Ewok pilot. "Wes...they're doing it to me again." -Wedge Antilles, regarding the Wraiths' tendency to come up with unorthodox strategies and tactics. My favorites from the movies: See my signature.

Oh. How...anal retentive of him

Yup. It helps that there's so much of you all over the site to help paint an accurate picture. Galaxies must've been pretty good to get you to abandon your "Spaminator" ways for so long, huh?

Boba Fett is the shiznit. End o' story. That's right up there with all the 'clone' plotlines post-Thrawn Trilogy...reeeeaaaal original, ain't it? And convenient, too! Yup, except that the first story, where Zuckuss and 4-LOM join the Rebellion is shortly after Hoth, when they help the passengers on that Gallofree transport. SOTE happens during the six months between ESB and RotJ. It just stretches the bounds of credibility to think that they could have enough time to help the crew, join the Rebels, have an epiphany, and THEN take on an undercover job for the Alliance. IMHO, of course. Plus, Boba Fett makes idiots of them and Bossk in SOTE. Could it be? A continuity error in the SW Universe? ? Say it ain't so!! [/tongue-in-cheek] Welcome back, Admiral_Antilles!

Yeah. That's what I said.

I have no nidea what you're talking about, Mask ol' buddy, but it sounds very WOO! There...ya ain't alone in here no more.

Wingless "Home One" Mon Calamari Cruiser for me, followed closely by the ISD, though for different reasons. The "Home One" is a graceful yet powerful design that serves as an appropriate counter to the hard-edges of Imperial warships. However, the ISD is a true symbol of capital ship might, and the intimidation factor of its appearance alone is a big plus.

I'll try to take that in the best way possible, Trej. After all, I DID make it to your 3000th post party. Aw, Mask! I'm hurt! well, I like me... BTW, you DO realize that story about Zuckuss and 4-LOM from 'Tales from the Bounty Hunters' directly contradicts the quasi-canon plot of 'Shadows of the Empire'? If they wre both stuck on that transport and then joined the Rebels, how could they then have teamed up with Bossk to try and take Solo from Boba Fett? They can't be in two places at the same time. Anyone want to guess my vote? I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count... Dengar would be a close third, though...behind Jango "My-father-lost-a-bet-when-he-named-me" Fett.

Ooo! I'll have to look for the Mara Jade figure and "Crashed Snowspeeder" set! Can't justify another X-Wing, though...I already have the "Light & Sound" one. I'd really like to see them produce more pilots. Especially the A-, B-, and Y-Wing ones. A quick search turns up so many custom figures of all the Wraith & Rogue Squadron characters, yet none of "the powers that be" have figured out that there's money to be made with the EU. {sigh} At one point I was trying to cram all of my Star Wars and LotR stuff onto our computer desk (including my host of Boba Fett stuff). It got pretty cluttered. I finally had to give in to BBL's protests and box up some of 'em. Even now, we've got to clear things off it every three months or so. Probably not, but I'll just say it was an initiation prank perpetrated upon us lowly high school freshmen on the Varsity Soccer Team at Zaragoza AFB, Spain. It was either swallow the goldfish, or suffer an Industrial Strength Wedgie. Still, it wasn't too bad; kinda like swallowing a large Jello-cube whole...except that it wriggled all the way down, and kept wriggling for a minute or two. Followed it up with a dog bone, too (Milkbone brand; not too bad with milk).

Man, that sounds cool. I'd join now, but I should probably wait until after I'm done with training...so, sometime next year.

I've often wondered when they'd make more figures of EU characters. Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, Corran Horn (just think, pilot AND Jedi versions!), Ysanne Isard, Kirtan Loor (could just be a Grand Moff Tarkin re-paint ) Lieutenant Page, Commander Narra, General Salm, Baron Fel, Pelleaon...I have GA Thrawn, though. I think there'd be quite the market out there for these characters, rather than each member of Sy Snootles' band. Or even some of the 'canon' characters, like Hobbie Klivian, Wes Janson, Dack Ralter, Zev Senesca, Bren Derlin... And before you ask, no i do NOT get into that whole 'custom figures' hobby. Oh, that's your Desktop mojo, eh? I've been trying to collect as many of the SW Pilots as I can. So far I have that three-pack of Tien Numb, Wedge Antilles & Arvel Crynyd (unopen; but you have NO idea how tempted I am!), Biggs Darklighter (again, unopened), Pilot Luke (which my son likes to play with, scratching the pain on the helmet ) and a recently-bought John "Dutch" Vander (Gold Leader) from the Battle of Yavin series (in short, I like collecting the Rebel pilots; I missed Jek Porkins though, when he came out a few years back). Coupled with my poseable Robotech VF-1S (Roy Fokker), LotR Argonath Bookends, and Action Fleet X-Wing, I've got some serious desktop Mojo going on. Maybe...but at least I let him play with some of them, right?

Much slower dial-up connection from home, now. I have no clue about the notifications; they're sent to my work addy, and I'm not there today. I DID check the site from Valkir's DSL connection on Saturday, and it seemed to be running pretty smoothly.

Rebellion Fanatic Recruited by US Air Force

Except that I'll be wearing pants. I'll be on one of these aircraft, doing stuff like this and this. -
Yeah, I've already tried that route, Bill. We Americans will just have to realize that Soccer is more popular worldwide, despite the clear superiority of Football in all aspects. Just kidding, guys.

Is it just me, or does "General Grevious" look like GL's take on Peter Jackson's Sauron?

Rebellion Fanatic Recruited by US Air Force
Texas_Fett replied to Texas_Fett's topic in Outside Interests
Thanks guys! It's nice to know I'd be missed...that is, if I was actually going to be leaving. I definitely will be stopping in whenever I can, but I'm afraid it'll probably mean some "interruptions in service". Hopefully, none of them permanent. I'll be flying around on AWACS, though (early warning aircraft) as an Air Battle Manager, so there's little chance I'll need to eject. But I'll keep your advice in mind, Jahled. Thumper, I'm sorry I forgot you in the article. I also forgot TK, Evanders, Stratus, ADarkJedi44...sorry guys! Maybe I'll have to just post updates. Cain, it'd be great if we did get that chance. I imagine I'll only get flyovers of Europe, but I'll have to get better ideas of where everyone is so that inthe odd chance that I DO experience "engine trouble" or somesuch, then I'll have a friendly face to hang out with. -
Rebellion Fanatic Recruited by US Air Force June10th, 2004 (AP) San Antonio- Word out of Washington indicates that the Defense Department has begun recruiting citizens with specific gaming talents to fill command and control roles. Spurred by the success of the Americas Army First Person Shooter (FPS) game and the talents it developed in potential recruits, the Air Force has decided to seek people who display an above-average grasp of tactics in a military setting for similar reasons. “Such recruits would not only be perfect for command and control roles,â€

That one might have been mine. Glad you liked it, EM! I can't say I've actually played through a whole game with Master Chief, it was kinda cool to make a card of him. The one of "Pink 5" was kinda fun to make, too.

Gladly; anyone with a .gif of the event in question?

Would the REAL Nebulon-B2 Frigate please...um...step forward

That's what I figured. Nothing like laziness and slow processors to really screw up the SW continuity. -
Would the REAL Nebulon-B2 Frigate please...um...step forward

Not nearly as dumb-looking as the ones with Four "Wing-Spars". (Don't believe me? Just do a quick search through the Expanded Universe cards on this site for "Nebulon"). -
Would the REAL Nebulon-B2 Frigate please...um...step forward
Texas_Fett replied to Texas_Fett's topic in General Discussion
Yes it is, which probably explains the "smooth" appearance of the two "wing-spars". However, I've seen a couple of descriptions that claim the smooth appearance is due to increased armor plating over vital systems, giving the ship an 'encased' appearance. Appearance wise, though, the "rough" Neb-B2 looks to be the natural progression of the design, keeping the Static Discharge Vanes, and really just appears to be the same craft as the Neb-B, just with a second "wing-spar". There's where the confusion comes in... Hmm...maybe I should have entitled the thread, "Would the REAL Corona-class Frigate please..." -
Okay, another continuity question here. I've been looking through descriptions for the Nebulon-B2 Frigate and the Corona-class Frigate, and I've come up with a bit of confusion. First, we have every Rebellion-munchkin-gamer's favorite ship, the Nebulon-B Frigate. That's the baseline. From here, modifications were made, resulting in the Nebulon-B2 Frigate...oh, wait...or is that the Nebulon-B2 Frigate? And then we have the Corona-class Frigate...or is that the Corona-class Frigate? My personal take is that they started with the Nebulon-B, made modifications resulting in the 50m smaller Nebulon-B2 Frigate, and then produced the Corona-class Frigate as a whole new, larger class of vessel. Am I right, or is my reasoning completely flawed?
