  1. Hmm, I usually play with large galaxies, but if I lower the stats for maintenance, then the AI builds more different vessels in a fleet.
  2. Confucius says: If two of you come with me, then one can be my teacher
  3. Errm, I just used Resource Hacker to create the name-length patch. The new cards were created just by using RebEd. Is that what you mean ?
  4. Jahled, my first console was an Atari 2600 followed by the legendary C-64 and I remember myself saying, that a pc game would never look as good as one on the 64. Oh, Jesus... long, long ago Untimely, I haven't yet tried for the same reason I don't remember joust, but Defender of the Crown had a joust part as well. There was a remake not long ago, still had a hard time winning Igor, you got permission from Mr. Angus J. ? When I asked nicely he just told me, that he'd prefer if I just put the link on my page... Elvis, jousting was that with two knights on their horses, long staffs and both try to push the other of the horse with the staff. At least that's how it went in Defender of the Crown. Btw, don't try to impale the horse
  5. Jahled, try to copy the text, then paste it in a new browser window, that worked for me Elvis, yep. But I'm very patient Igor, the Golans didn't move, but the support vessels (INT and Lancers) could do that. The Golans just rotated
  6. Didn't know you guys in the US play Moorhuhn as well
  7. Jahled, try this : http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/strategy1.jpg and http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/strategy2.jpg my provider seems to have changed something about his urls recently without telling anyone again... Untimely, thanx ! That's something I learned in the many Queens-games I've played with my uncle in the last 15 years

    Who will do these?

Coincidence Gank will surely clarify it, when it's done. Damn, now I sound like 3D Realms ...
  9. And the Rebels cannot invade it
  10. The link to Resource Hacker's homepage is : http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/
  11. Hehehe, this reminds me of the Jetsons. "The boss is on your back, the boss is on your back, ...." "JETSONNNN, you're fired !" Don't get caught
  12. I set the propulsion speed in RebEd to 0, but if press enter the program will correct it to 1. So just enter 0 and press the OK button, the Golans weren't moving after that and as you can read in the 'Gaming Stories' section I was quite glad about that
  13. Elvis, why did you post three times ? We could include all the seperate files in one .zip for example Untimely, what are you hinting ? Did you just replace the close-view model with mine, or should I make less detailed ones for the medium and far views ? You can replace the medium and far models with those I provided as well. In case of the Mc80 it sometimes makes the game a little slower with big fleet. I'm working on a fix for that
  14. Maybe as a replacement for the event, where Luke tells her of her heritage. But I don't know, if that event will be triggered if she already has force powers and how it will affect her then. Has anyone tried this already ?

    Who will do these?

In time, my young apprentice, you will understand
  16. Ok, to check out my Golan III model I replaced the Imp Dreadnought with it. Then I usually continue the game I currently play with the Rebels. After having almost every sector (large game) under my control, the AI has about 3, or 4 sectors left. Suddenly when I loaded my savegame a little diplomacy-fleet, including two Mc80s, a Medium Transport, a Bulk Transport, a Corvette, a Bulk cruiser and about 6 Xwing squads got ambushed by an imperial fleet. The imp fleet consisted of an Interdictor, two Lancers an equal amount of Starfighters and 16 Dreadnoughts, that were now Golan IIIs. http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/strategy1.jpg I was trapped with my little fleet and best of all I had Mon Mothma, Drayson and Willard on board as well. So I tried the panic option: destroy the INT and get the hell outa there. To match the Golan's profile I already edited their card, so that one alone could keep two ISDs busy and with 16 of these monsters and the INT hiding beside them, there wasn't really a chance to destroy it with my capital ships and have enough hull left to jump back out. So I sent in all of my fighters. Halfway they met their imperial colleagues and were decimated by one squadron before they even reached the INT. Being in the reach of the Golans (those had no propulson, just hyperdrives), the fighters also had to deal with their shots as well. After liberating the INT of its shields my last Xwing squadron was blown to dust and the inhibitor field of the INT still there. http://members.xoom.it/d_kelley/rebellion/screenshots/strategy2.jpg Without another option I brought my capital ships in and presented the slightly armed transports as cannon fodder for the Golans while the Mc80s carrying my personnel should destroy the INT. The AI didn't take the bait and the Golans started shooting at the MonCal cruisers instead. Every ship got destroyed, Drayson and Willard were killed and Mon Mothma captured Now I was really motivated to escape out of this situation with all the personnel alive, so I loaded the savegame again. The imps showed up again and they still had the same fleet. This time I tried a diffent approach: I kept all my ships and fighters at the spot, where they came into the battlefield. The AI sent all its fighters after me and I decimated them with my ships and my own starfighters. After that I had about 1 or two squadrons left and only taken out the computer's fighter cover, but without another option, or so he thought, the computer brought in the INT and the two lancers to take shots at my fleet. While only having two damaged squadrons of fighters I let them dock with my cruisers, cause the Lancers usually take them out pretty fast. When they were in reach I opened fire on the INT and ignored the Lancers completely. After I finished the Interdictor I also got rid of the Lancers, that had a hard time piercing the shields of my cruisers with their laser batteries. Now I really felt cocky and considered to at least damage one of the Golans, but after taking another good look at their assembly, I decided to end a battle I could not win and to jump back to hyperspace. The Golans will still be around, when I return with a fleet that'll match their stats
  17. That was in I, Jedi. It's set around the time of the Jedi Academy books (past Thrawn), so we couldn't have Jedi Corran or Kyp (still in the mines on Kessel). But I think if you don't give a character force abilities, he won't detect enemies that way (in theory ).
  18. Yeah, I like that !
  19. That was just for some *cough* people who have nothing better to do, than browsing through innocent pages and interpreting everything in a way, so they prove they're not in this job just to waste tax money. Why do you think I went through so much work including that copyrights thingy on my site ?
  20. You mean 'load settings'. We could update the dllentries.txt of RebEd to include new pics and the settings can also include all of the cards. But for new sounds you'd have to implement them either via a patch, or with Resource Hacker, cause RebEd can only replace items with the same length (resource editing was a lot harder back then ). The models would have to be seperate as well for the same reason. But we can decide upon the distribution method later
  21. Errm, Jacen and Jaina were born around the beginnig of the second or third book in the Thrawn series. Not much use putting them into the game, except for keeping the imps busy with milk bottles while anything gets sabotaged behind their backs
  22. Maybe she'll access the dark side of the force, become the next Exar Kun and rid the galaxy of the Vong with a single .... nah, too easy
  23. Well, Revolution, the creator of our favourite prog RebEd seems to have retired from editing Rebellion But if I recall correctly, Mass alteration had to do with how fast your ship traveled in hyperspace. More mass = slower and vice-versa. Doesn't the quick-info for the mass alteration feature say anything about it ?
  24. Playing Rebellion without your original cd is very simple: First you need make a disk-image of your original Rebellion disc, let's say with Clone CD, or CDRWin, or any program that can also produce a .ccd, iso, bin/cue cd image. To mount your image you need the Daemon tools (http://www.daemon-tools.com/). They install virtual cd-roms, in which you can mount your images. After installing you'll have a little red icon in your systray from where you can set the number of virtual drives (up to 4) and select which image goes into which virtual drive. After that it's the same procedure as every year install Rebellion again from the Virtual drive and the speed/sound problems should be gone. Also your Rebellion cd might start to be covered with dust, but it'll surely outlive any other cds, that you use frequently Oh yeah, and the legal stuff goes like this: I did not intend this to be a manual for using illegal copies, I can only say that this works with my original Rebellion cd. nyak, nyak, nyak ....
