  1. Can't be, IIRC. From what I know, the game only decides this on the basis of whether someone is a major or minor char.
  2. Belated congrats from me as well, mate * sniff * they grow up so fast ...
  3. From observation I'd say you get more replies, if you just post your ideas I'm still looking for a working program for extracting the models from Kotor I & II, btw
  4. Hehe, yeah. I'm with TK on this one. I just couldn't slay Jan and due to the story of JKII, Kyle didn't either in the canon SW-universe
  5. Hmm, I'm going to assume a bit, since I don't fully know what you meant with expanding. a) you've tried to scale your model, to make it larger. Did you perhaps use the scale option (can be selected by clicking too long on that button), that only works for one direction (x/y/z) ? b) if you haven't built the model's main body yet or are having trouble with that, I suggest the following. For the Mc40a I used a 12-sided, segmented sphere, that I converted to an editable mesh, later. This requires some foresight, though. So, give it as many segments, as you think it needs and try a rough sculpting, then. This stage often shows, whether you need to start again with more segments or not. Small addons, like bridge towers don't need to come off the segments, btw. They can be modelled separately and welded on the ship later with the "attach" modifier.
  6. Hmm, I'd say both Lucasarts never knew what they did with cancelling the development of a sequel. Welcome to the site, Eko
  7. * gulps * One ... gig ? Restecp, mon Please upload it in handy chunks, no larger than 500 megs, once you're done. Reason is, my usb stick is only 512 and I'll only be able to download it at the uni
  8. hmm .... read the book, you must ... Brakhiss, Kueller and Dessan would be too early in this timeframe. Jerec is already slain by that time, IIRC. Same goes for most (all?) of his dark jedi.
  9. thanks for the genius reference, Jin_Roh I'll put vakundok's program on my site, once I get time to finally finish that tutorial, but at the moment a lot of the links on it aren't even working. Or so I get told once or twice a month ToguroAni, during the briefing, at least in the sequences, that you replaced, you should see your new ones. However, if the briefing animation uses some pictures from alsprite (for non-moving scenes during the briefing) then those could lead to the effect you described
  10. Nnnope. As I wrote above, you'll have to apply your new texture to the model and save the altered model. Then you won't have conflicts with the slots
  11. Well, if I remember physics correctly (and that's a big if ) then the equation was: v = s / t With v = velocity, s = way, t = time But with so many unknowns, there's hardly a chance to calculate anything usable
  12. Um, you have to replace all the animation frames/pictures with your new ones. Did you do that ?
  13. That's the bonus of a friendly community like this one: nobody will hold that against you, plus: we've all started somewhere with our learning curve
  14. With a hex-editor, I think Try to google 'Ultra Edit', it's my favourite tool for that. Also, there's a thread in the editing forums, that is called "Mechanics – inside Rebellion", by vakundok. That's all we know of the game, that can be changed, aside from RebEd. Hastings, good to see ya still lingering around Did you check what happens to the final battle event with Vader on the rebel side ?
  15. They aren't anywhere, since you already have them on your game cds. If you open the tactical.dll from the cd with RebEd and export the files from the 301 folder into an empty folder on your hdd, then you'll already have them ready to be re-imported. The numbers from my first modelling tutorial will tell you, which 3 are the model you seek.
  16. Besides, Sith_Mask was 3 months and 18 days too early for returning after a year
  17. Now why does that remind me of Full Metal Jacket Hmm, guess I shouldn't watch these violent movies
  18. The music files are plain old .wav files, the extension is just different So, in other words, use the exact filename of the music you want to replace (the first few big files are the movies) and you'll be fine.
  19. I don't think you can edit those values, but I also speculate, that they're ~60. Perhaps vakundok knows better, if there is an actual hyperspace modifier for these units, but IIRC there was none in the data structure in the .dat file. That would mean, you'd have to use fast transport ships, like everyone else
  20. Me too I played it once on a vacation in Italy and almost finished it, but then I ran out of "credits" and time
  21. Sad, but I could just access the site again I thought that guy would finally have time to start building said score at all
  22. Ikeda, petioning LEC has already been suggested many times. Some people have even found old Coolhand employees and asked them for the code, but after a few "I have to look through my files, I'll get back to you" answers it was clear, that they were under contract of simply not giving it to anyone Skynxnex, thanks for your support We are indeed still working on it and that work will only stop, once the mod is released (or so I hope)
  23. Well, there's a program called MAME and there are hundreds of old arcade games for it on the web. You just have to make sure, that you won't run into any copyright issues, or that the copyright on the game has run out
  24. * shakes his head * There was a guy in my school once, who came pretty close to SuperShadow Looks like he has a vivid imagination and too much time Btw, the wikipedia entry also explains the source of the girlfriend link
  25. Hmm, now where did I put Haegemonia ? Looks great, N3bulu5. Are those Darksaber's Ties ? That Republic Tie looks familiar Btw, you can save a lot of polys on your models, if you use bevel effects on parts of the texture. This way, you can simulate the depth, like on the sides and on the gun ports, without having to model them. Photoshop is the best and easiest tool, to create these effects, IMO. If you need help with texturing, perhaps my texturing tutorial additioncan help you, or any interested parties. The technique can be applied to any 3d model in general, if you use 3dsmax that is
