Agreed, but you'll notice that in reality the fiction is meant to take an almost "back story" to the science and meaning behind the story. For example, Jurassic Park is really about the science that it took to clone the dinosaurs and questioning the ethics of cloning and genetic engineering with the dinosaurs as a backdrop that would bring a purpose to get the message across. My story at my website is about a war in the future, but is meant to get a political and social message across.

The original trilogy will probably always be the over-all favorite. Due to the fact that they are the originals and usually the movies people are introduced to. Along with that, it's where it all started and most people have seen the first movies over anything else. For example, the average person has seen, probably, the original trilogy (the younger generation, in turn, has seen the prequels). Thus, they say those are their favorites because they have yet to see the rest. Not a dislike for the EU, but a lack of knowledge of it.

I wonder what would occur if one were to simply destroy all the planets, except Coruscant (if as Empire, of course). "Don't get cocky."

I know you're quite new here and I know I used to probably do the same thing, but try not to post such short messages that could, possibly, be considered unnecessary. Okay; sound cool? I just hope someone whose been around a while (maybe longer) doesn't come in here and blast away what I just said.

I believe the lack of votes for the Old Republic/Clone Wars Era has to do with problems many of us have with Lucas and his prequels, which is most probably rooted in the fact that we all had different expectations for that time period and not one of us was correct. As was suggested in another thread, we tend to dislike the prequels because it attempts to explain what we, the STAR WARS fans, have come to consider as legend in that particular SW universe, and the explanations simply ruin the mystery and love we had for that time period. The mystery caused us to want to know more, but when we found out what Lucas thought of it and made of it, we were better off not knowing and, instead, dreaming. So, really, I believe we tend to dislike it because of the "bad taste" the prequels left in our mouths. I know I am. I'm surprised Scath, Trej, and Jahled haven't stumbled across this thread yet...well, Scath has, but I'm surprised he didn't write more.
