I only have one rule... not while I'm motorboating http://thegreatgeekmanual.com/images/humor/motivational/may/motivational-poster-ignorance-best-small.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/mr_wizard_album/Limitations.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g83/mr_wizard_album/Awesome.png http://www.jonco48.com/blog/internet.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f51/Nugefan15/flexiblefatty.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/spacetaker/kartinki/1160339647329.jpg http://www.fileden.com/public/2007/1/27/45bb31db508a4835628911.jpg Well... that's enough for now... off to the animated gif thread!

One would assume that Mac OS X would be fundamentally stable because it is based on BSD, a derivative of Unix operating system. Apple coded a new interface for an otherwise Unix based kernel and subsystem. Of course, if the hardware is crap, which many Apples are despite their cost, than you count on that operating system to crash unexpectedly. Same can be said for PC hardware, I see threads all over the Internet complaining about Windows Vista but so far it has been flawless on my laptop, mostly Intel Centrino branded components so one would assume they have proper drivers integrated to Vista while many hardware manufacturers have not.

Technically, that movie is rated PG with that scene included http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091225/ Maybe things were different in 1986? lol
-
Ah yes, keen eye you have there. I had only recently figured that out myself after reading this thread and poking around inside rebed with a hex editor. There were no minimum and maximum levels identified that I could locate so I assumed the limitation had to be imposed by the style sheets used in the interface. Editing those is a bit more difficult

Way off topic even for a random thread. I was just thinking of how bizarre George Lucas is and reminiscing of a movie from folk lore... not "Willow", that one was half-way decent. No, I'm speaking of "Howard, the Duck"... anyways, I never noticed this and doubtful many people could have stomached it enough to watch the movie... so here is the find, courtesy of George Lucas' imagination http://www.cinemademerde.com/howardduck-masturbating.gif "...so Howard looks at a Playduck magazine [many of the “jokesâ€

LOL... yeah, I know, I pass out my fair quota of Spamma too I got to finish a 5 page paper by Monday so really haven't given any trial to your file until then, my procrastination is only temporary around the forum to post my literary spamma for the moment.
-
Well lets just call it "spamma" now that it's reported not to work

Rebellion Refreshed and Reloaded Ultimate Package (x86/x64)
budious replied to budious's topic in Rebellion Reloaded
If you read my post, before it gets technical it is stated very clearly under the primary purpose - Package developed to allow dual installation of standard Rebellion and the Reloaded mod. Meaning, you install rebellion, convert it to reloaded, change the directory name and apply my patches, reinstall clean rebellion and have both copies functioning side by side. This could also be used by the developers to reference two builds side by side or otherwise use your imagination -
Ok... Well I'm not much of a programmer nor a gamer anymore. I just made Rebellion my pet project because I had played it for so many years. My reverse engineering skills are better than my programming My focus is on expanding compatibility, I got XP x64 and Vista support going pretty well and I think it should soon be fully functional in WINE for Linux and Unix as the developers have began implementing native d3drm.dll functions into WINE instead of having to install the Windows dll. Also, ReactOS and it's directx equivalent ReactX are coming along at a pretty decent pace. It should have native support within the next year I hope. ReactOS also supports LiveCD's so I may try to put together a bootable LiveCD with Rebellion on it but not sure how game saves would work.

More appropriately they could have named it "Alpha"... and given "Beta" usually implies something has basic functionality and is feature complete in general development terms... Thanks for the file

LONDON (Reuters) - Astronomers said on Wednesday they had discovered the best evidence yet of water outside our own solar system -- in the atmosphere of a giant planet 60 light years from Earth. http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSL1164290820070711?feedType=RSS&rpc=22&sp=true 60 Light Years! ... the Millennium Falcon could be there in about 45 minutes! OMG... I want to go

OMG... how did I miss this thread BSG love...

Well... I might not be king spammer but I may be leading the race on most locked threads. Maybe the admins can throw up those statistics for us

Good... when you get it all sorted out, .rar me your installation directory cause I'm tired of mucking around with it.

Ha, no, things are still screwy. For instance, I loaded the cards first. Got a long list of truncated string errors for which I clicked OK to all. Then I tried to run the setup file for which it complained about my CD not being where it was suppose to be although registry entries had been restored to original. It couldn't locate E:\Rebellion\MData\MData.*** even though that was the proper path. Installer finishes after some more bitching errors and I merge the movie patch and try to launch .exe, it reports the CD is missing though in drive. I copy over my REBEXE.EXE patch to the modified Rebellion installation folder and launch the game. The planet names appear correctly but Coruscant starts with Yavin's properties (ie. 1 mine~) and no other facilities which if installed properly should have full utility bar like Wayland. So nothing perfect yet.
-
There seems to be all sorts of mixed results on patching the .exe with the setup file. Did you try to patch 1.00 or 1.01? When I patched 1.00 using the TC setup it broke my CD detection completely, it would give an error with a continue button, click continue and the game would load. Another option is to check my (x86/x64) thread in this forum and download the modified executables I have made. You can step all the skips I've listed and just place the REBEXE.EXE into the modified rebellion installation and see if things work.

Rule #34 is so true I could post some of what I'm looking at the moment but it might get me kicked off this thread
-
I think he may be right. I don't think I had the cards installed the first time and the planets were named correctly. I think that the cards need to be installed before running the TC setup.exe perhaps?

Technically it may be a null character, it's an empty box with a square border symbol... I just refer to those as the "checkbox" for short. They were showing up after the numbers in my ship stats for whatever reason when the planets were named correctly.
-
Well it did work for me until I loaded the *.reb card for a second time. I reloaded it because in the encyclopedia ship stats I had the "checkbox" character appearing after the last number. Reloading the card fixed that but broke the planet names.
-
Actually, SOCL, the planets are still named correctly when I start a new game. The planet names only change back to Yavin and Coruscant respectively after loading a previous saved game. Edit: Wait, the proper names did NOT appear when the new game actually started. The imperial adviser droid did however display the planets as Wayland and Coruscant during the briefing.
-
Ok, well after reloading the beta/card *.reb file again because I wasn't sure if all my encyclopedia entries were showing up correctly or not, now my planets are not named correctly either! Coruscant has become Yavin, and Wayland has become Coruscant, and it appears my Alliance HQ is non-movable or is that intended?
-
I didn't do anything except follow the TC readme to install the mod and load the *.reb file. My installation shows Coruscant as Rebel base and Wayland as the Imperial base. Try reinstalling rebellion and reloaded?
