No that's not a good idea. If You blow up a planet under Luke (and he is not injured), he will surely escape (he can't be killed). It's very difficult to capture a good skilled character like Luke or Solo via planetary blockade. It's bether to injure, then capture him.

We should check out the final XWA missions, that could be a clue too... 4000 ties is a bit too much against 6-8 Cals. -

Well that's really drastic! But it happens quite rarely, that the disaster hits your most important planets. The chances are low for that.
