Those refineries look amazing Warb. I know you didn't make them, but nice job fixing them up for use.

 

Any ideas for new structures, like the frigate factory or such? We have most things complete these days (aside from GUI glitches and such), but nevertheless sprucing up and shiny extras always seems to help make the experience even better.

@ ludo. I have some ideas for new stations but no time to build them yet. I haven't found a suitable replacement for the frigate factory yet though. Right now i'm working on a vong comm station.

Warb, could you possibly make the barrels of the Rothana Destroyer's turrets parallel with reference to a flat surface? The angle they are at is really awkward to work with; because of it I'm having difficulty getting the nulls for those turrets done. Edit: Other than the turrets, I am pleased to say that the Rothana Destroyer is fully rigged and ready to go.

No problem.

The barrels have been leveled. I hope it doesn't mean you have to redo the rigging.

Just out of curiosity, can't you place the null's level regardless of wich way the barrel points?

 

Anyway, I also fixed the textures mess-up on the vong research stations, fixed the holes in the mesh of the vong constructor and I finished the vong comm station.

I could place the nulls regardless of where they're pointing, however that makes for it looking very awkward looking ingame, and it was flat out difficult to place the nulls, due to the angles, as I couldn't get a good vantage point.

I had a look through the new wiki and i noticed the race logo for the vong. I missed that among the race logo's ingame so i took the liberty of adding that and a couple more.

It looks really nice, but seeing it's scale, I don't think I'd be able to fit it in, as it's clearly in the supercap range.

 

Very nice, thanks! Admittedly one of the testers did add a ton of race logos, but he didn't give each icon a proper square of 105 px each, so it doesn't work too well ingame. Edit: And so I fix just that after figuring out an easy way to measure all the boundaries.

That was the only emblem i could find after 10 minutes of hunting. Its on the wookieepedia page as an 'unknown Yuuzhan glyph'. But it's the only one i found, so i suppose it's better than nothing.

Definitely supercap, I made it to be twice the size of a venator. But you're right, the supercap slotts are nicely filled.

 

Can you send me that logo file, maybe i can correct it. no promisses though.

I also removed the red striping from the CL texture. The teamcolor is overlaid on the CL texture, when you have teamcolor blue you en up with purple stripes. Now you dont

Awesome, thanks! Also, as odd as this sounds, even though you changed the CL texture now, I'm happy you sent me one with red stripes, as the red stripes allowed me to make a good alpha channel for the ship. Having a texture with clear red, green, or blue, colors is something I can easily make team colors for.

It looks quite nice, I like it! Rigging should be alright, worse comes to worse, non-combat structures take me seconds to rig... It's longer to get the thing in .obj and open Softimage than to do the job itself.

Can you send me that logo file, maybe i can correct it. no promisses though.

Missed this earlier; it's RaceLogosSOGE.tga in CORE's Textures folder. The spacing between the faction icons, as you can see ingame, is all off by around 1 pixel in the x-plane; all I'd need is the largest icon set to be fixed up, the others are all just downsized versions of that one. The militia/pirate icons are in even worse shape, and are thus unused atm.

I really like what you did with the Vong GWG, namely it's non-dark purple parts. Those two are really nice, and I believe that having more detailed skins like those would make the Vong much more nice visually speaking. Would it be possible to whip up some new skins for the Ro'ik Chuan Mara, Cluster Ship, alternate skin for the Yorik Trema (the trade ship/starbase constructor), and something that properly fits the Malatok's UV mesh (or rework it's UVs)?

 

I also had an idea for a Vong refinery; take the current trade port mesh and replace the cylinder-like top half with a sphere or square-like shape.

Aye. Go all out, do whatever you want, and have fun! The beauty of Vong ships is that they can be anything from an organic animal-like object to something out of a mountain or volcano; the only thing remotely close to a limit is nature itself.

Sorry about the dissapearing act. I haven't been able to do spent much time on modelling lately due to being swamped at work. I'm trying to please every mod i work on but it's hard.

I have the Vong refinery finished and skinned. I planned on rigging it myself but i can send it as is if you want.

I also stumbled across a nice concept for the frigate shipyards.
