OK, you not like the Reloaded characters, however i think if we rearch hard, we can find some good amongst them.

When i will have time, i will make a selection for u - i have made some cards intended for my Super TC.They have the best quality amongst my pictures.

I could make a list of the Characters I have, and specify which one I want to keep, which ones I feel should be replaced, which ones I'm not sure about and maybe add a wish-list...

 

By the way, it is perfectly subjective which Characters I'm going to include, so if anyone don't like them, it'll be easy to replace which Characters are which. However, I am working hard to get the characters balanced, with the more powerful (Vader and Palpy) being somewhat stronger than the others.

Thank you for letting me use your ressources. Of course, I'll be looking into this soon and see what I can use. Maybe I could use background pictures (I think I already used the Massassi temple one for the solo twins though...) I'd like to change the facility picture, perhaps, just throwing the idea around, incase another one had the idea and experimented with-it. I know reloaded used a modified picture for adv. shipyard, but I don't know...

 

Also, which characters did you not know about?

Just an FYI, although you probably already know: Your number system above for the planet icons (going horizontally) for the new system names, ... will NOT work in the SYSTEMSD.DAT file. The SYSTEMSD.DAT file uses the system numbers going vertically; so when replacing the icon number and wanting the asteroid field, that would be number 12.

Is there something to be done about system.dat and the other one? Personally, this is how I proceed:

 

There'S the description with encytext.dll

Then I make sure sector and system names are working accordingly in texstra.dll

3- I replaced the planet in strategy.dll

4- When my sector has had all its modifications and is all set with the approximately correct positionning, I use RebEd in order to change the planet icon to what fits the most with the planet description.

 

Is there anything else I should know? What about the systemsd.dat file?

 

By the way, numbers where there for the sole purpose of identyfing which planet pic was associated with what planet description in this forum, nothing in-game there

 

Oh, and thank you about the modification!

By the way, I believe I owe to Budious for his Rebellion 1.02 fix. Thanks to him, my windows 7 64bit can now run Rebellion! Maybe I'll go to this computer to run/mod that game. We'll see.

So, u decided to keep the paintinglike cards ?

Don't forget i've made bulk of my cards using real pictures.I not really have pictures with characters like paintings,only a few.

So will be hard to find such characters, if u not want to keep all of the Reloaded's set.

Eventually u can choose some characters from the original game, and i will remake their pictures too coz they not are sharp they look not good.

 

And an important information : once a guy (i forgot his name) succeded to make somehow, that we can recruit not 30 but 31 characters.

Still not finished to gather the cards for u, but after i gather them, maybe u will change ur mind to use any of the Reloaded's cards.

Becouse now all people know these characters,

My opinion is, that u should use totally new characters,becouse here are many in SW universe.

 

Becouse i wanted to do 4 Total Conversions (only 1 i've made, the Yavin TC named Before the storm) i've gathered many characters belonging to those era/parts.I've had them for Yavin,Hoth,Endor and SUPER TC.

Now u can choose characters from Hoth,Endor and Super TC characters. I think we can gather 31 characters for each side.

If u keep Reloaded cards, for those who played the Reloaded will be a little bit boring to play again with those characters.

Many of them i like very much (especially like them since i've remade them - was not easy, sometimes i've needed to remade 10 or much more times only one character !), i like Voss Parck,Guy Sienar,Rukh (he had the best pictures i ever succeeded to make),Teren Rogriss,Maarek Steele,Luuke, Lumiya,Ysanne Isard,Delvardus, Covell on Imperial side.

On Rebel side i like Corran Horn, Mara Jade, Garm bel Iblis,Khabarakh (this is a very nice character picture, unfortunatelly i didnt succeeded with this one to create a 100% card), Gaeriel Captison.

 

However if u will choose the not the painting but the picture version cards, u can choose from them like : Menndo (a makette picture is very excellent), Orrimaarco (pupet), Tusken raider (2 variants), Lando (5 variants), Lt Arnet (Hoth), Lt Cabbel (Hoth), Chiraneau,Davod Jon, Ds 18-14,Sarkli - all Endor,

Bomm Vindimm (merchant - puppet), Mod Terrik (a very nice stormtrooper picture), Tarkin, and so on.

When i finish, i will post all of characters i have, now only a few selected from them.

Not quite sure what you mean when you speak about painting card. For the moment, I've chose to keep the old background on most of the char... but not for the Twin ency pic, for example. I am pretty open in where my char are coming from. But I don't want to use completely new names. There are some names that are just not worth mentionning in the SW universe (Mendoo, for example) in my opinion that is. And I can't even begin to think to make my TC without Thrawn or Ackbar...

 

So no, no totally new cards, but I'm not keeping all the Reloaded cards, of course. I'll mainly be keeping those that have a special place in my heart AND ref pictures, if possible. Otherwise, not worth-it.

 

I seek to take your pics when I sort-out how to use them. Problem is I don't want to change my cards's stats by replacing the card, plus I did not really touch any character editing since a long time. I'd much rather work on the galaxy layout some more, and including some more planets icons (I'm going to change the Gamorr one, in particular).

 

Oh, and I'm now officially seeking a galaxy pic I'll cut almost in half, because the galactic west part of the galaxy is almost unexplored and I wont be using-it pretty much...

 

I know peeps will be bored about the mod, but this is a 1998 game and RebEd make it very easy to change the Cards, so I would not worry about that. Of course, everybody has their preferences. I just about never played vanilla Reloaded and it was just fine like that...

 

I'm still browsing through what you sent me. Of course, I'm at school and my focus is elsewhere. Also, as you can see, I am nowhere near completing the imperial side, with many unsure char and a lot to be worked on.

 

I think I'll make a mix of painted/picture version cards... As it's already the case for Kyle Katarn (pic version and Corran Horn (though not the actual Corran Horn, but that is another matter...)).

I think I'm happy with the current pic of Lando, but I may take a pic version or a HD one, if there's no blue removal process to go through (these are such a pain...).

 

As I've said, one of the aims of this mod is to get rid of those I consider to be too much UE to my taste. Or not important enough. As such, Mendo and Orimaarko are no go's for me. I think I'd be interested in a decent set of stormtroopers to make Characters such as LaRone, Macross and their friend. If I could get a card for Kirtan Loor, I'd also be happy. An ISB agent would be cool too. I think I'd also like to have a Hutt, but not Jabba. Jabba's too much of a gangster. How about the Young Hutt from Darksaber (that would be Durga the Hutt)?

 

I don't know how the guy managed to get 31 chars instead of 30, but I'll begin by 30 and if I absolutely more, I'll see about going over. In my experience, trying to change thing too much in rebellion can result in corruption some time, breaking the game.

Well, I don't have Reloaded under my thumb just yet, but in general, what Reloaded chars I did not like were either removed from my current list or I wrote-it (imps).

If I want to remain fidel to my idea, I will be forced too... Besides, Jedi Knight Dark Forces II had real persons cinematics and cartoonish for the game and it did not ruin the game for me, so if some dislikes my cards (as I'm sure some will), RebEd will help them...

Uh, when editing cards (pics), there's a lot of issue with seeing blue dots on your pics. Especially when you use PS to change the same picture from one pallet to the other one... It basically depend on the way you make your pictures compatible to the rebellion pallet. Complicated stuff to explain lol.

I understand that problems with blue dots, exactly as i thought, but with my technique i can solve that in Photoshop.Later i can explain what to do, to not have those blue dots.

Yeah, that Kyle's good. Looks like Ewan McGregor though...

 

I'm good with blue dots too, just take some time to correct that.

 

Now I've been trying to get a new galaxy pic that will better fit my intended goal: fit the New Essential Galaxy. Because of the position of the volume of planet, I needed to have more place on the right side than left side. So here's what I've come up with. Opinions?

-Modell Subsector (100%, though I did choose Ovise over G'rho)

-Kashyyyk Space (100%)

-Spice Triangle (100%)

-Hapes contorsium (100%)

-Hoth and greater Javin/Anoat (100%)

-Unknown Region/Chiss Assendancy (20%, name of planet are okay, need to complete a lot of descriptions and give correct positions)

-Corellian to be reworked (0%)

-Coruscant sector (0%)

 

So 10 sectors done out of 20, 2 have to be reworked, 1 has to be implanted

 

7 sectors remaining

 

Projected sectors are:

 

-2 for Pentastar alignment

-1 for Senex-Juvex and surroundings

-1 For Eriadu and Surroundings

 

That leaves 3 I'll probably fit in the Core

She have a very interesting face, is asian, but i've never seen such a beauty

 

The last 4 galaxy map is like mine in my TC.However, u succeeded to make better than me, that's the thruth

 

Now i continue to search amongst my cards to see wich ones u can use, or at least to take a look.Several of them was made when i wasn't so experienced like now.
