Mad78 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I must say i play much less than i used to. Mainly because now i have college and I often prefer hanging out with friends than spending my time playing on the computer. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Eagle Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Soooo.... A few days ago I finally got a copy of Dark Crusade, the expansion pack for Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. I prefer Chaos and Orks. One of my alltime favs is Oddworld - Abe´s Exodus. It´s such a weird world, scenario and story. I love that. Especially to take controll of your own wind. Who cares at all?!
SOCL Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I just finished Knights of the Old Republic for the first time, and I must say, it is a fantastic game! Likely one of the best I have ever played! I'm sorry to say, though, that the ending was...well, anticlimactic. SPOILERS FOLLOW Granted, I think anyone with half a brain knows you'll end up fighting Malak, so that perhaps kills the suspense of how the final battle will go, but then, I was still expecting more, for some reason. There were no startling revelations or anything, though I suppose that's expected, because the most Malak could say is, "Revan, I was your apprentice," to which Revan might just nod and cock an eyebrow. ( ) So I'm not really sure what I was expecting... And the ceremony at the end was very cheesy, which makes it perfectly Star Wars-y (reference the endings of The Phantom Menace and A New Hope). Great game, though!!! SOCL: Putting the BE in BEAK.Read the Forum Rules - Welcome the New Members - Rebellion Reloaded -
DarthTofu Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Fantastic, in fact, in my opinion, it's better than Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords by leaps and bounds, due, at least in part, to its actual complete plot as well as the far fewer bugs, etc. KotOR II was, essentially, what you thought of the NJO books, SOCL: I believe your terminology was a tyranosaurusmustangsandwich. It tried to hard to be too good and was, while good, not quite the quality of the first one. Heck, I'll go out on a limb and say that it's a bit too open. It's akin to Morrowind or Oblivion, only you have to complete the main quest in a lot of cases, and some quests can't be completed even though they are completed because of the ****ing bugs and... Well, you get the picture. I'm waiting for the Team Gizka project that's supposed to fix everything up before I try KOTOR II again... 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
SOCL Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Team Gizka? What now? I heard a rumor there will be a KOTOR III, but that it takes place during the Original Trilogy, or there abouts. But then...it wouldn't be called Knights of the Old Republic, would it? Personally, I'd like to see a KOTOR-style game, but about the Jedi of the New Republic or Galactic Alliance. Wait a sec...isn't there a Kyle Katarn game that involves New Republic Jedi made by the same people as KOTOR? Mad78 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I supposed that you finished with the light-side ending. I suggest you finish it with the dark side ending. I found the story was good and definitely more complete than the KOTOR II one. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Lord_La_forge Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 The dark side ending is a bit better indeed KOTOR was a great game and even KOTOR2 was nice. They just didn't had the time to finish it (as for the bugs). You should try that one two, the story is really good. I've played it 2 times, now I'm waiting fot Team Gizka's mod too. KOTOR3 must be the game they call "Force Unleashed". I don't expect that much (looks like a brainless action game to me) but who knows... Still KOTOR I and II are classic stuff. As for non-sw, I'm waiting for Crysis, but only because the beautiful enviroment. I know, it will be a dumb shooter game, but maybe a good mod will help. The new Settlers is also cute, though not a real breaktrhough (judged upon the demo)
SOCL Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 What's the Team Gizka mod? SOCL: Putting the BE in BEAK.Read the Forum Rules - Welcome the New Members - Rebellion Reloaded -
DarthTofu Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 This is Team Gizka, SOCL. They've been almost done for nearly six months, now. But they're still cool. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
Sinister Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Have any of you guys played Star Wars: Galaxies? If so, what did you think of it? http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. After all, it kills you." - Katharine Hepburn
Mad78 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I've always wanted to try Galaxies but having to pay a monthly fee makes me cringe! @Forge: I am highly impatient for Force Unleashed to come out! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Darth_Rob Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 (edited) I never played Galaxies, much for the same reason that Mad said. I refuse to pay to play, and a MMORPG based in the Star Wars universe would have had me glued to the computer, disregarding food, drink, and human contact... Edit: How can you say its over-rated if you've never played it? Here's someone else who shares my opinion. JediHunter Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Yea, I played galaxies for a while... I started playing when the game first came out and the bugs were still substantial.. I had a rodian bounty hunter which was doing quite freakin well actually... I was building him up to be really strong and had done several quests to get the mandalorian armor... I bought a house and had set it up in the very outskirts on Tatooine... and wouldnt you know it.. a bug hit.. my house (and ALL my possesions in it) were gone... actually.. as a matter of fact, a whole mountain range popped up where my house was!.. and not a single GM would help me... so.. I quit... and havent looked back... those were the last days of my MMORPG experience... "Duct tape is like the force. Me too I think, I would only try a game like Galaxies if it would atleast have Wii lightsaber battles That would be almost like a huge sport event.MMORPG is too bad for my health otherwise.
Sinister Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Speaking of the Wii, a game store in my neighborhood has a used Wii for sale for about $120. I'm debating on buying it or not. So far, the Wii has been hard to find in "new" condition. I don't know why stupid Nintendo just doesn't make more of them so everyone that wants one can have one. http://www.geocities.com/xenogears23/Jokersinsigmgs.jpg "Life is hard. Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Unfortunately it's not that simple. They can only make so many, and they have to supply for more than just North America. Japan is their largest market, so that's where they're focussing their resources. I hear there are still pleanty of PS3s that you could get. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Mad78 Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 Here there definitely does not appear to be a shortage of Wiis. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Defender_16 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 So.... I walked into Zellers today just meaning to look around and came out with this: http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/DSCF7410.jpg
Darth_Rob Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Microsoft strikes again! Enjoy paying your monthly fee to play X-Box Live!!! SOCL Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 So you have to have X-Box Live to be able to play on the 360? And pay, too? SOCL: Putting the BE in BEAK.Read the Forum Rules - Welcome the New Members - Rebellion Reloaded -
Darth_Rob Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 X-Box Live is how you play online. You dont need to subscribe to play the X-Box, only if you want to play online. As for me, Im about to start up a FREE online game of Mario Strikers on the Wii with my friend. Mario Kart will supposedly have 16 players online, and Super Smash Bros will have 4. And Medal of Honor will have 32. All for free... Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! My Website http://fp.profiles.us.playstation.com/playstation/psn/pid/BigBadBob113.png
Grand_Admiral_Thrawn Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Heh, I do all of those things, but from my computer. Sure, I may not be able to play the same games, but there's comparable games on the PC. The bonus: I can do ther stuff on it too (without having to use one of those annoying on-screen keyboards). I just don't get console gaming these days. History is on the move, Captain. Those who cannot keep up with it will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all.
Defender_16 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I just finished. Who said anything about me getting Xbox live? I might try out the 2 day trial subscription that comes with it but that'd probably be it.
Mad78 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I want a 360! So Def is Halo 3 what it was hyped to be? http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
Darth_Rob Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Ahhh, but the whole point of having Halo 3 is to go online and beat the crud out of other players. But if you can resist the temptation and dont give in to the evils of X-Box Live, then I guess its all good. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side!
